    If you look at Chronos' design at 31:15 you can actually see him "Stitched" back together, those golden marks around his body.
    When Zeus, Hades and Poseidon defeated him the first time, they torn him to pieces and spread him around Tartarus so he would not escape. But i guess time heals all wounds ;)
    insanely cool design by SuperGiant!

    Well Zeus had tons of kids and I don't think any of them inherented his thunderbolt powers, they were just born with a unique supernatural dominion.
    I don't think ancient mythology really had a solid set of rules, it was part of oral tradition and tended to change from teller to teller.

      For the most part, Greek gods were granted dominion over a certain aspect of nature, but a few gods did inherit related powers from their parents. Aphrodite's and Ares son Eros/Cupid combined love and war by shooting love arrows at people, and Persephone, goddess of spring, had her single seasonal powers in relation to her mother's dominion over all four seasons.

    Many of these enemies would be easier but you don't remember to cast the whole time 😅 Like the final phase of Scylla, if you drop a cast then none of those fish can ever reach you and you can just attack them or Scylla instead of running or dodging lol.
    A big part of the reason you're taking damage is because you expect this to be like Hades 1 where it's all about dodging. In Hades 2, it's all about casting then dodging when you need to, since casting holds enemies down and prevents them from being in range to begin with. I had a huge struggle at first too, but now it's natural for me (and made the main difference in me actually beating runs)

    About gods inheriting power from their parents, hmm... it's fickle; the example you used Aphrodite, one of her kids by Ares is Cupid, they mix love and war by making people fall in love with a literal arrow to the heart. Children associated with Hades seem to have dominion over some portion of the underworld or life and death.
    About Zeus we think of his power over lighting, storms and being a king but we don't take his lovers' power or disposition into account (there's also the fact that if you had a illegitimate child you could always say Zeus is the father). Also, let's not forget that mythology was highly regional, what one town believe may not have been canon for the next town over; what we have of mythology is a snapshot of practices and believes of an era, like the most vocal and popular takes on a fandom not the whole text.

    IIRC at the beginning of everything, there was chaos. And from that chaos were born Gaia (Mother Nature), Uranus (Sky Father) and Tartaros (Underworld). From these beings were born many things, including the titans. At some point titans decided to kill their father Uranus and claim the world for themselves. After Uranus was killed, Chronos became the king of the world. Later on he married his sister Rhea, they had 6 children in total: Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Hera, Poseidon and Zeus. Fearing that his children will kill him like he killed his own father, Chronos ate all his children except Zeus. Rhea tricked Chronos and saved Zeus, this way Zeus was able to grow up into a powerful god. He saved his siblings by forcing Chronos to puke them (gods can't be killed so they were alive in Chronos' stomach) and together they defeated the titans. Thus the gods of Olympus became the rulers of the world, and Zeus the king of all gods. He claimed the sky, Poseidon claimed the sea and Hades had to make do with the underworld.

      It’s seems the boon works by triggering when you dip below the mana threshold, and then having a cooldown before triggering again. Welonz unknowingly exploited that each time she regains mana, and dips under again it creates a new instance and the cooldown resets. The synergy potential in this game is freaking insane

    1:30in theory all gods of olympus have powers over everything, so for example Zeus could very easily have power over love too, the same more or less for all the other gods, they do tend to favour certain elements over others but they technically can use every power
    You can kinda see this with melinoe and zagreus that they can both use the powers given to them by all the gods

    What an epic run. For what it's worth, Eris apparently appears if you've gone further than expected (something like three runs per realm) to slow you down. Kind of lame when you put it like that, but your unique "tactician" build and gameplay shrugged it off. I watched UFC in my college days - you remind me of Mike Bisping, who circled and kept his distance, and drilled really calculated punches when he saw opportunity. Honestly didn't expect you to come anywhere near beating Cerberus. Call it a win, for sure: you made Chronos get out of the chair.
    EDIT: It is, just, possible to dodge the sheep spell. And I'd say there's nothing wrong with a range/control-type build that takes more time to get it done, as long as no one's carving you up in the meantime. That build is much more interesting to me than a straight damage play.
    Arachne was a master weaver whose works were said to rival the gods, so one of them - I think Athena? - challenged her to a contest; Arachne won, and jealous Athena turned her into a spider. Or spider-thing, something like that. Explaining artistry in spiderwebs. The rooms where her cocoons are, I take it as her clearing the path for you ahead of time.

    not all the gods that desent from gods of something are related
    Aphrodita and Ares are the goddes of beauty and war
    some of their sons´ domains are related to one or the other
    Phobos and Deimos, the twin gods of fear and horror
    Eros, the god of physical atraction

    maybe you could do one run every two weeks/once a month? That way you can stay invested in the story and keep up your skills/muscle memory. Because eventually stopping and starting again on full release you'll end up forgetting a lot of stuff.
    There's a ton of content in the game already (there's more content in this Early Access than the entirety of Hades 1). I think you could do 1-2 runs per month and still wouldn't run out of content by the time of full release. You'll also get hype views whenever a big patch goes up

  • @TheKeyser94
    @TheKeyser94 4 місяці тому +1

    Actually the first time around, Cronus eat his children, only after Zeus rebel against his father and rescue his siblings they could defeat Cronus and the Titans, and of course let not forget that after that, gods not get their hands dirty, they leave the mortals or their demigods children to do the dirty work.

  • @iout
    @iout 4 місяці тому +1

    The children of gods don't always have abilities/associations related to their parents.
    They aren't people and thus don't have genetics. It's better to think of them as philosophical entities. In Platos' case, he literally considered them to be part of the realm of ideas, as opposed to our realm of forms, iirc.
    So they often have associations, e.g. Eros, the personification of passionate love, being the child of Aphrodite, the god of beauty or Phobos and Demos, fear and terror, being the children of Ares, war. Those are philosophically related concepts. But they don't need to. Apollo and Artemis are children of Zeus and Leto, but their associations have little to do with Zeus except maybe Zeus and Apollo being civilization associated. But even that doesn't account for Artemis being associated with the wilderness.
    Sorta like how a child will likely procure a personality that is reminiscent of their parents'', but not always. Sometimes the kid just decides to do their own thing.
    Also Arachne was a mortal weaver who made the mistake of being hubristic in front of Athena and got herself turned into a the first spider. Hence why spiders weave webs.

    I played 23 hours (in god mode, though as my reaction is a bit slower than needed for such games), and I can guarantee that this game will surprise you left and right. No spoilers, of course, but Supergiants Games made impossible - the sequel definitely took the best from original Hades and brought a lot of new things; and it's insane to witness it from early access! It's already feels as the official release (with an exception of few missing art works - portraits less polished than it should be, but the screenplay and dialouges are still very engaging and entertaining). I also can assure you that Hades II has so much content that you don't need to worry to get to the end too fast - there's enough lore spread out for you to enjoy playing the game longer. I can't wait for you to meet certain characters to fall in love with them or hate them immensely (as Erice which is huge pain in the ass lmao; btw, if player choses to activate the god mode then she will appear much later in the game, not inflicting curses on your progress from the Oceanus beginning; but she still my least likeable character - every her appearing never brings anything good lol). Also I feel that the biggest difference between Hades and Hades II is that the latter demands much more strategy, and I'm not talking only about battles and boons, but more about relationship between characters, managing Arcanas with ashes and psyches, choosing which recources to get at which point, etc. There is so much stuff, it's mind blowing. But you're happy to playing this so far which is all that's matters. After all, we love your LPs because of the attention and energy you have for games you're playing (even for something like Lies of P which I still don't get it lol).
