What a great day you had with this treasure chest of a mine! All the materials left with the mining carts and skip cars, boxes and tins. These Nevada mines have so much hidden history and sadly have been forgotten and are still being ransacked by individuals who don’t even care. Definitely one of the best places I’ve seen on your explorations! Your work is amazing and glad you are doing well. Stay safe and wishing you both a Merry Christmas and New Year! 😀

So, I wonder if this mine is how you saw it the last time you were there. I am really impressed with all of the artifacts left behind. It must be in a very remote location. The miners cart with all of the dynamite boxes and other artifacts was definitely decorated by a previous explorer. It was nice of them to get all the artifacts off of the floor. It was definitely tuff to get inside the mine. That must be another reason all of the nice artifact's are still there. Merry Christmas!
Hi Scott. It didn't change much from my previous visit. People have been putting boxes and other things on that flat car for several years. This one is fairly tough to get to and crosses some private land to get access. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍😊
Tom & Julie, Another good one. Lots of interesting and hard to find artifacts. I always look forward to your Friday morning video. One of the best if not the best mine exploring channels.

I saw you guys on a video at the Topica mine with Ross the one legged miner , another great video . I want to wish you both a very Merry Christmas , what a way to end the year .

Dang, ending with the death defying act 😉 still gets me 😜 I'm hard pressed to remember another mine with as many artifacts. Unless we bring up Frank. Which, hmmm 🤔 that flat car all set with an awesome collection 😁. A bit fishy 🤪🍻 But, cheers 🍻 an excellent adventure!
Hi Rick. Yes, lots of artifacts in this one. People have been loading things on that flat car for years now. At least the items haven't been stolen. I'm not sure what the fishy part is. Glad that you enjoyed the adventure. Thanks for commenting!👍😊
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I was being hard on Frank for his apparent admiration for artifacts to show in their museum. I like Frank though, so I don't want to start something. That's what "fishy" was about. 🤔 I'm glad those have been there for years 👍🏼🍻
I looked up the Idaho Insane Asylum referenced in that newspaper article. There is a very informative pdf source on line about it. In short the hospital was auth by the Idaho Legislature in 1883, four years before Idaho became a state. It became Idaho State Hospital South in 1931 and is still in operation serving mentally ill, as well as drug and alcohol problems.
Hi Dave. Thanks for doing the leg work on that article. I was hoping someone would. That's very interesting. I'm glad that you could read it well enough to do the research. 👍😊
Amazing Tom, what a mine, so much historic stuff. Are incline shafts more common than vertical ones there. Here in Cornwall mostly vertical, and of course very wet and always flooded to deep adit level. Great episode Tom. Best wishes to you and Julie and happy Xmas.
Hi Nigel. Glad that you enjoyed the mine. I would guess that there are more vertical shafts here than inclined. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍😊
Thank you. I heard from one of my subs that you had a good one out. I'll have to get over to your channel to see what you've been up to. Thanks for watching!👍😊
Big old mine.. My Dad had one of those carbide lamps. They did not put out much light, at least not as I could tell in a dark basement. Somehow I figured you would find dynamite in this mine... It looked a bit oily 😳
Yes, lots of artifacts down there but you were in some risky places. Must have been worth it you found some cool artifacts for sure but it was sure dangerous coming back up. You both are to be commended for a great find/video. I was a little nervous when you started climbing back up and out. Yes an exciting adventure but was glad to see you get out safely. Take care you two I love your videos. 👍👍💕💕
I'm sure you saw it but that lantern was a Dietz. I don't know if they were made anywhere else but they had a plant in Syracuse NY, not far from where I worked. I just checked and the building has been converted to luxury apartments now!
0:02 There's some really cool stuff in that newspaper you found. Make your own record. Talk sing play microphone for a radio.😊 And the box of dynamite crazy! 😮 You got to make sure that you don't mess with that stuff huh? It's so old and unstable.😮
We see plenty of dynamite boxes which makes me wonder how often you run into actual dynamite sticks? I imagine you have to be careful when you're walking over or going through a pile of artifacts because you don't know what could be underneath
Hi Christopher. We see sticks of dynamite regularly. The box in this video had about 20 sticks in it. Most of it is so old and wet that I'm not sure it is still viable. Still, it's good to be cautious. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍😊
Walking across those bridges at the beginning of this video😮 guys really take some chances! I know you guys are used to that kind of stuff but it makes me clench my teeth😅
Why no more views of the drive in through the beautiful desert scenery and surface artifacts. Happy new year from a very very wet Highlands of Scotland despite it being made for rain!
@@philipdobson8941 Hi. Philip. It depends on the mine whether I show the outside or not. This one has too many artifacts to give away its location. Hope you stay dry. Happy New Year!👍🎆
Hi Bruce. I don't think they would have to necessarily leave the mine, but they would let it ventilate for a period of time after blasting to clear the nitro glycerin fumes, which caused terrible headaches. Thanks for the comment!👍😊
Hi Eddie. The nitro glycerin in dynamite can cause terrible headaches from breathing the fumes after a blast in the mine. They would ventilate the mine after blasting to remove the fumes. Merry Christmas!🎄
I know you have been doing this for. a long time, but how do you determine BEFORE you go on the parts of the track where most of the floor below it missing that it is actually safe to do so?
Hi Al. You have to use your best judgment in real time. The bottom line is that it is a dangerous hobby that we realize and accept before we ever go into a mine. Thanks for the comment!👍😊
@@TomandJulieMineExploring Thank you Julie and Tom for all that you do for us! hope you are home warm and safe this Holiday season where ever that is, and not in some old, dank and dangerous mine..
@@TomandJulieMineExploring The reason for the question is that it is surprising to see so many artifacts left in the mine. Enjoy your videos. Hope you have a great holiday.
Hi Jacques. The drills are pneumatically powered and also used water to cool the bit, keep the dust down, and provide lubrication for the drilling process. The drill bits have a hole running through them all the way to the tip where the water shoots out into the bore hole. Older bits without water holes were called widow makers because of the numerous health problems the miners endured from breathing in all the dust created by the drilling. You didn't really think that I thought they were using "water guns" did you? That's just silly. Thanks for the comment!👍

Hi Mike. Glad that you enjoyed the explore. You're welcome, and thank you for watching. Merry Christmas!👍😊
Bonsoir à vous , très belle vidéo. Cette mine est particulièrement dangereuse. Je vous souhaite un très joyeux Noël .
Hi Christian. We're glad that you liked the video. Yes, this one is quite dangerous. Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍😊
Dang, ending with the death defying act 😉 still gets me 😜
I'm hard pressed to remember another mine with as many artifacts. Unless we bring up Frank. Which, hmmm 🤔 that flat car all set with an awesome collection 😁. A bit fishy 🤪🍻
But, cheers 🍻 an excellent adventure!
🤔 I'm glad those have been there for years 👍🏼🍻
Wow those artifacts!! The drifts were impressively twisty, like amusement park twist. Great explore@👍👍
Hi Mark. Yes, lots of cool artifacts in this one. The drifts are a little confusing the way they loop around. Thanks for watching!👍😊
SUPER FUN EXPLORE! CHEERS" from IDAHO! Thanks 4 Sharing!
Hi JD. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers to you!👍😊
I looked up the Idaho Insane Asylum referenced in that newspaper article.
Great explore you two. Nadolig llawen I chi as we say in Wales.🎄
Nollag shona in Irish, which I wish to all of my Welsh friends across the water.
Hi Gwynmwyn. Thanks for watching from Wales. Glad that you enjoyed the explore. We appreciate it!🙏😊
Amazing Tom, what a mine, so much historic stuff.
Merry Christmas to you, as well!👍😊
Great video thank you two very much
Hi Vernon. You're welcome. Thanks for watching. Glad that you enjoyed it!👍😊
Another great exploration!
Have a Merry Christmas !
Y'all are Amazing!
Thanks for the kind words. Merry Christmas to you, as well! 👍😊
That store was dope. And I had it with that Aditya. 😂😊Nice explore. Always enjoy and happy holidays.
Haha, Richard. Thanks to David Trapp for that line. Happy Holidays to you!👍😊
@TomandJulieMineExploring Got it off of you in another video. The one legged miner. Don't usually watch him but saw y'all there.
Yes, that's the only time I've said it. 😁
i agree, lots of cool stuff thanks for sharing
Hi Jerry. You're welcome, glad that you liked it. Thanks for watching!👍😊
Great video!!
Thank you. I heard from one of my subs that you had a good one out. I'll have to get over to your channel to see what you've been up to. Thanks for watching!👍😊
Cool !!!!!
Thanks for watching, Cheyenne!👍😊
Merry Christmas!!!!! 🙂🙂🙂🎅🎅🎅
Hi Thomas. Merry Christmas to you!👍😊
Thanks for your effort loved this one
Hi Doris. You're welcome. Glad that you enjoyed it!👍😊
Big old mine.. My Dad had one of those carbide lamps. They did not put out much light, at least not as I could tell in a dark basement. Somehow I figured you would find dynamite in this mine... It looked a bit oily 😳
Hi Max. Thanks for the comment. That dynamite did look a little funky. I happy to have a rechargeable LED flashlight. 👍😊
I would like to wish you both a awesome Xmas and safe New year. Awesome mine keep it up.😊
Hi David. Glad that you enjoyed the mine. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas to you!👍😊
Yes, lots of artifacts down there but you were in some risky places. Must have been worth it you found some cool artifacts for sure but it was sure dangerous coming back up. You both are to be commended for a great find/video. I was a little nervous when you started climbing back up and out. Yes an exciting adventure but was glad to see you get out safely. Take care you two I love your videos. 👍👍💕💕
@duanekaulen421 Hi Duane. Yes, lots of cool artifacts in this one. It's a little dangerous getting in. Thanks for the comment, we appreciate it!👍😁
@@duanekaulen421 Hi Duane. That's correct about the artifacts. There are a load of artifacts in this one.
Merry Christmas love your show
Thank you. Merry Christmas to you, too!👍😊
Have a Merry Christmas☃❄
Thank you. Merry Christmas to you, as well.👍😊
I'm sure you saw it but that lantern was a Dietz. I don't know if they were made anywhere else but they had a plant in Syracuse NY, not far from where I worked. I just checked and the building has been converted to luxury apartments now!
Hi Gary. I can't remember what the lantern said on it. I know it was made somewhere in New York. Thanks for the information on it. 👍😊
@@TomandJulieMineExploring It's a little hard to see but you can just make out Dietz just above all the info the lovely Julie read from the lantern.
0:02 There's some really cool stuff in that newspaper you found. Make your own record. Talk sing play microphone for a radio.😊 And the box of dynamite crazy! 😮 You got to make sure that you don't mess with that stuff huh? It's so old and unstable.😮
@@eddie9903 Yes, it's fun to read the old newspapers that we find. We do use care around the old dynamite. We see quite a bit of it.
Fun explore
Hi David. Glad that you liked it. Thanks for commenting!👍😊
Thanks for watching and commenting!👍😊
thanks, and merry Christmas
You're welcome. Thanks for watching, and Merry Christmas to you!🎄
Julie and I are out exploring today, so please leave a comment, and we will see it later. Thanks!
Pretty sure there was another guy there saying this was his bad idea! HAHA. Thankfully no one was maimed because I was getting stressed.
Walking across those bridges at the beginning of this video😮 guys really take some chances! I know you guys are used to that kind of stuff but it makes me clench my teeth😅
@eddie9903 That was a dangerous spot. It's all part of the fun. Thanks for watching, Eddie! See you in a couple of days. 😁
The dynamite you came across looked pretty scarey with the sweat on it....
Yes, it was not in the greatest shape. I wouldn't want to mess around with it too much. Thanks for the comment!👍😊
Happy New Year!👍🎆
That mine looks like it was sketchy when it was being worked.
It probably was the way the skip track caved in. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍😊
Tom did the miners have to leave the mine for each blast?
Hi Bruce. I don't think they would have to necessarily leave the mine, but they would let it ventilate for a period of time after blasting to clear the nitro glycerin fumes, which caused terrible headaches. Thanks for the comment!👍😊
@TomandJulieMineExploring thanks Tom😁
What is a glycerin headache?😮
Was this mine on private property?
@@TomandJulieMineExploring The reason for the question is that it is surprising to see so many artifacts left in the mine. Enjoy your videos. Hope you have a great holiday.
Yes, it's rare to see so much these days. Thanks for watching. Happy Holidays to you!👍😊
I'm glad Frank in Canada doesn't know about this place.
Hi Kevin. He would most likely get shot stealing things from this place. 👍😁
Miner's primary used air to run the drills and water was a second use Tom likes to think they ran water guns lol. Be safe my friends ❤
Thanks!
