I can see this being kept in the front of the van rather than your usual toolbox/bag/tote. Like you say, for preliminary looking at a job . Dirt would likely be its enemy but for saving carting a whole lot around ...it's a winner
Love this screwdriver. Admittedly they do break really easily but if you know how to look after them they will stay in one piece. I've also learnt how to fix them if they do break and it's actually quite easy. I've also put insulation tape around the 2 buttons which you press to release the magazine because if you drop the screwdriver, the buttons will fall out and get lost. Then the magazine won't close. I do a lot of maintenance and it's really convenient to have this screwdriver in my pocket. I hardly every use a regular screwdriver now. This screwdriver and my Knipex 13 96 200 multi pliers are the 2 tools always carry with me
oh yeah if they fall that's bad, It happened to me once and I was searching for the rubber ball that was lost. Yeah it's quite a good advice to use tape to prevent the loss of the two buttons.
Baught one today after recommendations from a collegue. Like it alot, a bit big handle. Biggest issue is the locking mechanism on the bit holder. A twist-lock would be better, when you put it in tour pocket the lock moves back and releases the bit.
I have 1 of these, really handy for quick little jobs where you dont want to be lugging all your tools around, great for testing and inspections too everything you need in your pocket, its easy to catch the locking mechanism and have the bit fall out, it does get jammed sometimes and not lock properly too, but its a great piece of kit
I'm a big fan of Wiha. The lift up is great for pricing, pop in jobs, for me not a permanent replacement. It comes with a couple of issues, one you've mentioned, magazine pops out, the yellow bit holders can break out and the lock opens when your "screwing" and the bit falls out. Apart from that it's a good buy.
Gotta admit im a Wera man ,i like the fact the wera doesnt have the connection half way down the shaft .. .. only downside is the torque screwdriver only does 3nm .. give the wera VDE socket set a go guys , it's bloody fantastic bit of kit
Had this for about a year now, the idea is genius, the execution not so much, the pop up part is pretty flimsy and the bit locking is annoying, you pull farward on the collar to lock the bit into place, meaning whilst in use it's easy to pop the collar forward by accident and the bit fall out. I'm hoping Wera develop a similar product because I think they would nail the design
I like the idea of this, like Gaz says carry one screwdriver instead of 6. I have also been looking at investing in a torque screwdriver so I would only need the handle part of that. 👍
I'm a technician so not a heavy user. Very handy for doing inspections as you just need one tool when visiting site. However, I dropped it and locking mechanism broke. Bought a 2nd and same thing happened within 1 month so it's not practical. Better to buy the kit with the smaller handle and not this all in one unit - too fiddly for real world use unfortunately.
I gotta admit it is pretty cool and would be really helpful when going on a survey or quote. However the longevity would concern me. The amount of times you would probably sit there and play with it popping it in and out I'm sure it would eventually become fairly stiff and/or break.
I e had about 4 for that exact reason bit I love it. I do a lot of maintenance work and it's ideal to carry in my pocket along with my Knipex multi cutter. Ive figure out how to fix the screwdriver so I don't have to keep sending it back. I've also taped around the 2 buttons so they don't fall off when you drop it
Absolutely! Hopefully there will be inproved version. But this is nasty one. I broke off yellow bit holder in the handle within weeks , then I accidentally dropped it and the red flap little "hinges" broke off. Solution - none. Its too fragile. I bought another set - the one with 16 pieces and smaller handle.
Same here. Very little dust jammed up the storage function and tightening up a connection made the sleeve to spin independently to the handle. I was tightening a mcb busbar connection and when it happened I thought I'd stripped the threads, began to undo to replace the mcb but it was the screwdriver and when I checked with a normal screwdriver the mcb was not fully tightened
Great video! It is necessary to prepare this kind of insulated manual screwdriver. Not long ago, I bought this kind of insulated screwdriver of the renhotecic brand. During normal use, it is very safe. Everyone can prepare one if needed.
I might purchase some of these, look very handy for carrying about as i am a shift electrician. Install would be a pain for swapping about but, thumbs up for maintenance and fault finding.
So the only problem i have with this tool was after 2 years, the lift up mechanism gets stuck so you have to lift it with your other hand while squeezing the sides. It loses its lift up lol. Dont try to use bits on a drill when unscrewing old flat head screws. Cracked my bit. Dont borrow to other people. They break it. My yellow bit holders have cracked from dropping it or not putting in the bits in properly then closing it cracks the holders. Wish the holders were more metal not plastic. You can easily unlock the bit from the end by accident. Id definelty buy another one as long as i know what easily damaged.
I brought two of these as i was impressed with it. My first one fell off a pair of steps and the plastic clip that holds the lid down came off. I managed to clip it back but the handle part of the screwdriver always pops up no and then even with the two clips down. One thing i like about this screwdriver - A tip for anyone thinking of getting one... the bits for this screwdriver fits in your impact driver. I dont like the release bit as putting this driver in my pouch i find the release bit unreleases the bit which can get lost.
got one a few years back. the magasin brocke to eaisely. sales reps have said Wiha have fixed it. maybe I will give it another chance some day. bit sad that the one tool wiha makes that I have seen under preform is the one that is most likely gonna the first wiha tool for a sparky.
I'd definitely keep popping that open while screwing with it. Can just imagine that happening when I'm up a ladder outside screwing a light up somewhere then out all the bits fall into the hedge below me...
I have one of these and have had for 6 years or so. It's great in some aspects and not so great in others. The bits themselves - they're 6mm instead of 1/4". So close to being standard but not quite. That's typical to all Wiha. The selection of bits - it includes the PZ/Sl for MCBs etc but no regular sized PZ2 which is a bit annoying. If you don't push the bits fully in to the holder it gets stuck half in and half out. It's a bit big for my size 9 hands, the regular Wera screwdrivers are a much better fit for me. The worst thing is probably the locking slider thing. It's just where you'd like to put your hand/fingers to use it as a spinning collar but pushing forwards releases the bit, then it falls out and disappears across the floor. But it's very convenient.
I have both this type and electric wiha screw driver unfortunately they are not as quickly asi expected, normal case screw driver after while damage on bits holder and electric type one time send back for gearbox issues and they send me another one the same problem happened after 2 months.
Whatever you do, don't drop it. The clips that hold the magazine down shoot off and the miniscule springs disappear forever. Had three of these and it happened to all three. Quite flimsy in that respect.
Mine broke on the first day..... One of the clips holding the bits in place. The big handle is also really uncomfortable if you have to use it all day.
Hey friends. I hope you are well!!! 🙏🙏🙏 Does anyone know how to fix the wiha before it breaks by adding the silicone??? Are these balls in the red clips that hold the barrel??? Any help would be appreciated before I drop it and lose the balls. 😃😃😃 Best regards, Scott. ✌️🙏✌️
Hello I'm an certified electrician in lebanon I'm wondering how can I buy a combination scrow driver of Phillips and slotted It seems that no one import such and I cant order it online
theres a flaw with this screwdriver, not great when you are trying it fit it into the holes on a electricians ladders at the top where you keep your tools as it touches the edges of the screw driver bit and pushes it back making the bit fall off it. should have been a lock and twist system to prevent this.
I have had this screwdriver for about 1 and half years for my job its really versatile and convenient but the downside as you say the end does keep popping up also on mine one of the catches or glued spring inside which helps holds the magazine end in place came off and now end pops out all the time, also recently the magazine inside the individual yellow parts which hold the individual screwdriver bits in place i have one broken and feels like the rest are going the same way soon(wear and tear).. So my advice on occasional use will last along time many years on a professional stand point Very convenient, but it wont last the test of time i'm afraid.. I'm still looking for a similar design the handle is a bit big in the hand, on the whole is a good electrical screwdriver. But wont last 2-3 years if used all the time..
Looking through the comments lots of people saying they break and reliability issues my speed e broke in a week the ring came out that connect the bits in and out so not impressed with the brand so far good ideas but not great reliability

Looks handy for a quick in and out when attending a fault on a call out before bringing the rest of the tools in, just to walk round with
Love this screwdriver. Admittedly they do break really easily but if you know how to look after them they will stay in one piece. Been using this screwdriver for ages now so convenient when just to have on you and its lets you travel alittle lighter for small bits and pieces

This woukd make a good edition to the small toolbag, for quick and easy tasks, like quotes or taking off face plates etc.
4:04 "Once you pop, you cannot stop" 😆😆😆
So satisfying watching the lid opening up
Sure is ❤️
@@efixx take it Gordan does too ?
Worth giving it a try, be good on call outs 👍
Gotta admit im a Wera man ,i like the fact the wera doesnt have the connection half way down the shaft .. .. only downside is the torque screwdriver only does 3nm .. give the wera VDE socket set a go guys , it's bloody fantastic bit of kit
Ideal to take with you when you go on holiday!

Walking from one job site to the other in the city centre this is the perfect screwdriver.

Well done Wiha, a great idea.
For day to day use it breaks within a month, I’ve had 2 and would not recommend getting one

Great product. No excuse for losing those bits now 👌
I might purchase some of these, look very handy for carrying about as i am a shift electrician. Install would be a pain for swapping about but, thumbs up for maintenance and fault finding.
I lost mine working on a crane high up, and it went into a 100 pieces. It is a bit slow to change bits so i like my normal screw drivers more.
Something to keep in the draw at home for those little jobs around the house at the weekend . 👍⚡️❤️ great video guy’s as always 👍👍👍👍❤️⚡️
Great video lads 👍
Thanks

😣 we learned about not using in drills !

I searched everywhere for this info about the bit size. Perfect. Thanks.
Been about for 3 yrs. Expert trades where distributor for wiha. Loads of gas engineers have em.
got one a few years back. the magasin brocke to eaisely. sales reps have said Wiha have fixed it. maybe I will give it another chance some day. bit sad that the one tool wiha makes that I have seen under preform is the one that is most likely gonna the first wiha tool for a sparky.
Excellent product. Combine it with Wiha screwdriver 26 in 1 (77795), a pair of diagonal pliers, linesman pliers and you are ready to go.
I'd definitely keep popping that open while screwing with it. Can just imagine that happening when I'm up a ladder outside screwing a light up somewhere then out all the bits fall into the hedge below me...
Very satisfying ❤️❤️❤️
This tool feels great but I drop my bit left and right because of that lock mechanism
Is it sonic?
(Doctor Who reference)
I have one of these and have had for 6 years or so. It's great in some aspects and not so great in others.

But it's very convenient.
The 6mm bits might be perfect for the vessel ball ratchet. They are a very tight fit with nost 1/4 hex bits.
Pouch 👌 13
Something else to go wrong due to wear and tear. Then you'll revert to your four screwdrivers, not six.
I have both this type and electric wiha screw driver unfortunately they are not as quickly asi expected, normal case screw driver after while damage on bits holder and electric type one time send back for gearbox issues and they send me another one the same problem happened after 2 months.

nobody pronounces "wiha" as good as you guys
Faen! Æ skal kjøpe denne!
Mine broke on the first day..... One of the clips holding the bits in place. The big handle is also really uncomfortable if you have to use it all day.
I'm not sure about Q, i think Wiha may have a Danish Designer Probably. Carl Sperg. Or maybe not!!
Hey friends.
I hope you are well!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Does anyone know how to fix the wiha before it breaks by adding the silicone??? Are these balls in the red clips that hold the barrel???
Any help would be appreciated before I drop it and lose the balls. 😃😃😃
Best regards,
Scott. ✌️🙏✌️
The bits ser to short imho, I got every part and I miss a long bit. I am forced to use a long screwdriver
Hello I'm an certified electrician in lebanon
I'm wondering how can I buy a combination scrow driver of Phillips and slotted
It seems that no one import such and I cant order it online
Just wondering is it a magnetic bit ??
theres a flaw with this screwdriver, not great when you are trying it fit it into the holes on a electricians ladders at the top where you keep your tools as it touches the edges of the screw driver bit and pushes it back making the bit fall off it. should have been a lock and twist system to prevent this.
Does anyone know if the pocket max bits fit in the speede 2 ??
It's OK but I will never part with my set of Fluke screwdrivers!
Garry's Wiha pouch set part number and link to buy it please.
Would these be long enough to fit down to the screw locations in a whiska box??
A lad had this at work, it only lasted 6 months. Kinda disappoint with the lifetime of the mechanism.
Looking through the comments lots of people saying they break and reliability issues my speed e broke in a week the ring came out that connect the bits in and out so not impressed with the brand so far good ideas but not great reliability
Is the handle a lot thicker than the standard wiha sets ?
Yes it is. At first it feel strange but you get used to it
Does Gary like big or small pouches? Or is he not discriminate? Getting fairly concerned as he also keeps mentioning semi and lube!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Gary is easy he takes what he can get.
Is this why electricians prices are rising all the time?
Use a rubber band when they break off
Bits are too short.
£51.98 they can keep it .
Sorry, its not so robust for dayly working on the outside jobs.
Do not buy one of these I've had 3 or 4 in the past thinking they've improved the quality but same again the yellow bit holders snap off no matter how careful u are utter crap😂😂
Plz help me
You can be british, but are you a kettle-in-the-garage english?
Great idea but Absolute rubbish... had one last two weeks fell to bits.. had another the same thing happened.... 😫
