    Since it was raining a few days ago when I got it, I decided to break in my new red limited edition Weber Kettle with some smoked pork chops. They were seasoned with some SPG and some Kansas City Touch of Red BBQ rub. I smoked them over some charcoal & Cherry wood chunks until they reached an internal temp of 145, saucing them with some Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet & Spicy sauce. Talk about an awesome smoky flavor.

    I had one of those Kettles, they cook the food fast and works great. I gave mine to my brother in law, since I have a huge barrel size grill. Those chops look good Steve.

      Kirby's FishNGrill They really do cool fast. I wanted to do the chops low and slow but it got warmer than I intended lol. The chops were delicious. Thanks for watching

    This was a great video and what I liked was the detail and the sharing of your bbq experiences. I’ve grilled for years but never really tried to educate myself and strive to do more until this past year. I’ve got a backyard dual grill and a pit barrel jr smoker. I spend most my time watching grilling an smoking videos now lol. Keep it up sir.

      Thanks for watching, and the feedback. I really didn't try to educate myself any better until a few years ago...a lot of these videos really help out. And as with just about anything else, lots of practice helps a bunch. Thanks again for stopping by.

    You are right, I just love to smoke the crap out of everything, mac n cheese, bologna, even Turkey day oyster dressing. Malcolm Reed, and the BBQ pit boys really rubbed off on me! ( PUN INTENDED!!! LOL!)

    Great video, nicely done. I do everything on my Weber kettle. Those chops looked delicious. You also reminded me of my service days. I'm an old fart lol, 61, but don't tell anyone! I grew up with the Weber Kettle and I to had a small Weber Smokey Joe where ever I was stationed. Turkey's are great for Thanksgiving and are nice and juicy. You actually did have the lid on correctly. The location of the vent on the lid is critical for maintaining both temp, and smoke control. The thermometer on a Weber I've found to be pretty useless, like most people. Your Igrill was definitely the way to go. I use a maverick dual temp so I can monitor the meat and the temperature at grill level where it is important. Keep the videos coming you've got the talent!

      Thanks for the encouragement. I have lots of ideas for other videos on the Weber and my other grill, just been lacking motivation over the last couple of months.

    That thermometer is in the right place. Vents always go over the meat. Weber’s thermometer only gives a false temp,about 75-100 higherthan the grate.

    I tried an offset smoker. Found over the years the kettle does it all. Awesome grill. Thanks for the videos. I have an 18 and 22, sold the offset.

      I was going to get rid of it, but like I said, I learned a lot on it, plus it could come in handy if I ever need more cooking space. Thanks for watching.

      Absolutely! You’re welcome. Weber grills/smokers are the best. I have a WSM. I don’t have a kettle. But, I will soon. My girlfriend bought me a grill and I’ve got to make it worth the while.

    I have had a Weber kettle of some form for over 20 ye4ars and it is always my go to grill for cooking or smoking. I have had a Weber Performer Deluxe 22 inch, the one with the table built in for over 3 years now and I love it. The worst part is it may be a little small for big smokes or cooks but I love the table that comes with it. I have stick burners and pellet smokers but I always go back to the Weber. If they would make a 26" with the table I would buy it,lol. The thermometer placement on the Weber's is the worst part of the whole deal but I use temp probes anyways. Why they would put the thermometer opposite of the vent is beyond me but the vent always needs to be opposite of the coals putting the temp gauge directly over the flames.
    You should check out the Slow 'N Sear Kettle Grill, it looks to be set up perfect going off the Weber but better. If it was on a table and wheels, I would get one and try it. Great video, thanks.

    Good stuff mane. You might wanna regulate your temp a little better and keep that vent over the meat. You can’t go wrong with a Webber. They produce some bomb smoked meat when done right.

    Smoking some center cut boneless chops as we speak

  • @indylive4926
    @indylive4926 6 років тому

    you might want to regulate the temp to about 250 so it takes longer and you get more of that cherry smoke flavor. you are basically wasting that cherry wood. Low and slow is the way to go BABY !!! SMOKE ON !!!

    • @MrSteviej893
      @MrSteviej893  6 років тому

      Thanks for the advice. This worked fine and I had lots of smoke flavor. Low and slow is for larger cuts of meat. If these has been 3/4” or thicker, I probably would’ve gone that route.
