Thank You for the tips. Great tutorial. The older I get, it never ceases to amaze me how simple some of these ideas are, after you see it. But only a hand full of people in the entire world think of it…
Thanks Jeff, what a simple effective idea. Perfect. Thanks so much. I took out my Mousse's from my KTM 500 EXC. They were very dry. Too much ripping in MOAB. No I know what to do now to keep them lubed up easy. Well done sir, have a great summer and fall. Mike from Canmore AB Canada
Love this, especially the valve stems. i have a helluva time setting the bead with Mousse, those valve stems with the black oring like seals are what I'm missing to get the air to push the bead out. Thanks Jeff !
Sweet! I will try this. I always assumed the mousse always pressed against the valve stem area too tight and would never allow this. I'd love to fabricate a zirk fitting instead of a valve stem and then load a grease gun full of silicone and be able to force it in by pumping the handle but I may be just dreaming.....
Great video. I use this method but for some reason my front tire valve seems to be plugged and I can’t get the lube in the same way as my rear tire. Any suggestions? Big fan of all your videos.
Yes the core is out, good suggestion about the compressed air. How heavy in the compressed air should I go in for how long, I don’t want to damage the mouse.
Hi Jeff I need your advice. I own a KTM 300 TPI and only use Michelin enduro M tyres and corresponding bib mousses. Sadly After changing the tyres only a couple of time and looking at the mousse intact I cannot get the tyre bead to sit back properly. After inflating the tyre the bead gets into place but would not stay there once the air gets out. Is it due to the bib mousse loosing its volume ? Any way to extend the life of the mousse that seems still in very good condition ?
Hello: Sounds like your mousse has shrunk prematurely and that is typically caused by not enough lube or the correct type of lubricant OR from riding on pavement which causes extreme heat. We highly recommend Nitro Lube slavensracing.com/shop/nitromousse-mounting-lube-by-nuetech/ and you should never use Murphy's Soap. How to save your current mousse: If you have an old mousse, cut out a 3"-4" section, then cut your newer mousse and force in the section. If you don't have an old mousse, we sell mousse sections slavensracing.com/shop/nitrowedge-by-nuetech/ for tuning your mousse.
I run standard nitro mousse in front and soft in the rear. I can get 100+ hours in dual sport riding on a Husky 300. Mostly off road trail (single and two track) with about 10-15% asphalt to get to the good stuff. I keep the speeds on asphalt low(below 50 mph) as heat is what kills the mousses life.
Use a syringe with some fuel tubing Another alternative take an old tube and cut it up. Run tape around the rim to hold in place. I prefer to use a cycling presta valves as the entire stem is threaded and removing the core is easier. Having the valve also makes it super easy to pop the beads with compressed air

Jeff, I like how you promote taking care of our trails. Thanks!
Any time!
Thanks Jeff definitely a money saver in the long run and could help prevent mousse failing
Great idea for adding lube into the tire. I also got tired of trying to install a lubed up mousse inside the tire and now just lube the tire.
Thanks, Jeff loves the honesty and real-life applications you bring to your videos.
You're welcome.

I always over lube my mousses. This is a great tip. I can over lube the tire and not have half of it on the bead inserting the mousse!
Great video. I use this method but for some reason my front tire valve seems to be plugged and I can’t get the lube in the same way as my rear tire. Any suggestions? Big fan of all your videos.
I’ll assume you have the core removed. Blow compressed air in to clear the blockage.

@@cep8214until the bead pops?
Thanks for the tip. How often do you need to relube the mousse? 1000 Kms?
Hello:
Sorry, there are too many variables for me to give you a service time for your application.
Good tip, thank you.
Hey Jeff what front tire do you run on your dual sport for baja and what mouse do you run in the front? Thanks for the cool videos!
Bridgestone X31 and Nitro Platnium Mousse.

Sweet man. How long do you think a mousse can last in dual sport application? Michelin mousse, mostly forest roads and trails. Thanks!!

Ducatirocks answered your question. I prefer TUbliss in all of dirt bikes and only use mousses in my 500 for dual sport rides.
Jeff where do you get the syringe that connects to your valve stem for the lube?
Hello:
It’s made by Stan’s for installing tire sealant and is available at bicycle shops.
Can you use this same technique with the Mousse Balls?
Hello:
I've never used mousse balls but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
What is the purpose of the lube? What happens if they are not lubed?
No lube = high friction/heat = melted mousse
How to lube the mousse if you don't have the added valve stem?
You will need to remove the tire from the rim.
Hey Jeff. How do I tell if my moosse went bad??
They shrink and then you have a mushy or flat tire. In extreme cases from riding on pavement, they turn to dust.
I’m all about the lube to $ ratio 😎
Do you sell that injector thing
Use a syringe with some fuel tubing

That’s what I do cool👍
