One thing I immediately noticed was the lack of commercials at inopportune moments. None with ten to go, none with battles going on, just during cautions or slow points in the race. Also, I believe Leigh Diffey is joining the booth after the Olympics.
It's almost like NBC was listening to the complaints the fans had about FOX's awful broadcast, and said "let's make sure OUR broadcast doesn't do that", while FOX just ignores every complaint and gets progressively worse each year. It was so nice watching a NASCAR race in 2024 with a very good broadcast, exceptional commentary and cameras that weren't zoomed in so far that you could see the sponsors on the roll bars inside the car. Special mention, they stayed on air for 30 minutes after to do a post-race show, and didn't just immediately cut to water polo before they got the winner off the frontstretch. Kudos NBC. Thank you for presenting a NASCAR race the way it deserves to be presented. Breath of fresh air.
Cool to see the Cup Series finally race at a track that a driver designed(Rusty Wallace). Even cooler to hear Rusty call the race on MRN. Hope they pave the full corners so we can see a race how Iowa is supposed to be.
I love NBC they do a phenomenal job completely turn a race from what it’s like with fox it’s just crazy how good they can make the race be when the production is great. On another note, I think the truck should’ve race this weekend. That would’ve been cool to see them. Also race at Iowa.
Completely agree with you on the playoff format. I honestly think bringing back the old chase format with 10 or 12 drivers would be a great decision for Nascar. No more wins locking you in, no more resets after 3 races, no more winner take all race. Nascar needs to stop trying to be like the stick and ball sports and do their own thing.

Was at the race, best race I’ve seen in person! Ofc I’m comparing to 3 TMS races and 1 Kansas lol. Lots of battles throughout the field. And a great time!
The broadcast itself was amazing, coverage was great, the only issue I had was that the booth kept mixing up names lol but that gets better with practice
I think they removed or significantly reduced the rear diffuser, not sure if this already happened earlier this year or not but I think that makes a difference
Even funnier about the Larson/Hamlin wreck, Denny had frauded his way all the way from 30th for most of the race before that BS Hemric caution flipped him into 6th. He got the stage points then got involved in that wreck and finished where he should have. 25th 2 laps down. His car or him or a combo of both were straight up dreadful that race.
I don’t understand why bowman gets so much hate. Like the comments from Kyle Busch and his crew chief saying he hasn’t been up front much. He is ahead of him in points and has the 4th or 5th best average finish this season lol
I believe the reason the dirty air didn't factor in today was because the part of the track they left alone is still pretty bumpy, so they couldn't lower the cars in the rear quite as much as they do everywhere else. So the combo of more corner grip and a higher platform, which was countered by the rear spoiler being up in the air to balance the car out, basically allowed more air to the trailing cars. I could be wrong, but it seems like we never really had a problem with "dirty air" until the cars got really close to the ground, in the last car and this one. The higher the ride height and/or platform of the car has to be, the better the "dirty air" seems to be.
So when will NBC have something like the race hub so we can get to know the drivers better after the race on Sunday Fox did supply a means for us to get closer to these race drivers and teams. NBC or someone should try to produce a program to follow up midweek have on the drivers to discuss the last race and prepare for the next.
Gotta give Berry a little more credit. Nobody was catching him before that last caution. Stenhouse became sleeping beauty on that last restart and cost Berry a shot at the win
I didn't expect the cup race to be so good at Iowa. Loved how much 3 wide racing there was. No Clint Bowyer all race long was a huge bonus too haha The only "compliant" I have about the race was that Kyle Larson cost himself a race being super impatient. :/ And of course that's no ones fault but his own LOL
Everything was great, yet they weren’t capturing top-10 battles around the track because they panned and stuck to less important battles. I remember they followed Ty Gibbs for a while after he slid out of the groove. This is my only complaint. NASCAR on Fox used to do a great job with covering many battles during the 2008-09 years.
May I ask a question? What will it take to make NASCAR fans truly happy? It seems that it does not matter what either network does NASCAR fans have to complain about something. Reading the some of the comments here make me shake my head.
