  • Today we are chasing down big spawning bluegill in a deep clear water reservoir! A lot of anglers write off bluegill fishing this time of year but you can still find massive groups of them spawning late in the summer months, especially in these deeper clear water lakes! Follow along to see how it all goes down! We hope you enjoy this episode, if so, hit the LIKE button and SUBSCRIBE for so much more! Thanks and we will see you on the next one!

One thing I love about your channel...unlike others that just catch and release, y'all's do eat what you catch at times. Keep up the great work....love catching your videos when I get a chance.

Awesome video. My local lakes are table rock, Bull shoals, and beaver but we always travel a little for bluegill because we really don't find them much in these clear mountain lakes. This video gives me hope that they are there.lol.

It's great that you're judicial in your release strategy. However, releasing 10 donks in a row, after stressing the fish in the process of catching them, some might say is no bueno. Keep more of the donks, and set a size (inches, girth, etc) that's a release/ no release guide and stick to it. Other than my unpopular observation and suggestion, as always, awesome video. Now bring home the "bacon" to Jay, Cy, and Summer! I know Jay-Jay will eat a mess of them there, filets.
    Keep on keeping on, Brother!
    Godspeed.

This is a video using a piece of stick to make a gorge instead of a hook, said to been used by Indians forever. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such, but if you guys used a gorge to catch a mess of fish, that would be an interesting show!!! It’s ancient at the least old time! I recall old timers of my younger years using safety pins! But, ua-cam.com/users/shorts3ej3cJxPCD8?si=xW5dS7fD6oOdScA0 here it is! You might need to find what size gorge to use for what time and what size of fish! It’d be different anyway, where it’d entertain part of your audience, then probably inspire others to try!

You are doing a good job with your videos; did you ever consider getting a real smart dog to keep you company when Jay can’t be with you… something big enough to stand up to the coyotes and smart enough to be a help with keeping the kids occupied and protected. Or do you already have dogs, I can’t remember.

@@COLE_and_JAY when I was your age, I had a dog that I named Brawny. He was an Irish setter/Golden retriever mix. He was obedient because I ran on average 15k every day before work and he went with me every morning.
I remember one day though when I drove a couple hours to meet a buddy early in the morning.
While we were loading our stuff in the boat, Brawny found a dead animal and rolled on it.
That created a stinky dilemma at Exactly the wrong time. I pulled him into the water and gave him a bath with dial soap. Then I put him in my beater Truck. 😂 I can laugh about it now but… not then.
