Im Australian 🇦🇺 This is a nicely set out buffet venue. Seems relaxed . I appreciate them using locally sourced ingredients. And having live stations. Food is cooked freash ,it goes quickly and no waste . Nice staff. Love coffee ,but no accustomed to American coffee as black . I drink espresso flatwhite lattes and cappuccinos. If they do this at no extra cost iv got my money's worth. 👍🇦🇺😁 Oh how did you not get told to move you car and slerp there with no fees that was lucky.
The food has an influence of the Pennsylvanian Amish population, and apparently a lot of the produce and meats are sourced locally, which is environmentally friendly cutting down emission footprint and supports local businesses. The food turns over every 10-15 minutes bcos of the huge long lines of customers. The fried oysters looked delish. 🤤 I'd go here anyday! Count me in!! 👍

I would be that way too. This place is Buffet Mecca and any buffet fan should make a pilgrimage here at least once in a lifetime.

Ken, the next time your are in the Pittsburgh area I have some great recommendations for you to try! If you love Prime Rib, you have to try The Belle Tavern, its right down the road from my house! It would be great to meet you and dinner would be my treat! They have their prime rib on Friday's and Saturday's after 5pm. Also have some other restaurants in the area I totally recommend like V&V Scratch Kitchen and By George.

We live in MD about an hour away & have been to SM a few times.. most recently about 2 years ago. After watching this I told my husband we are going for his birthday in early November. He hasn’t been in many years!

All the food you eat is so incredible beautiful and tasty. It's good buy too. His buffet would cost about 60 euros here in the Netherlands. And the evening would cost more euros, we don't have breakfast here as a buffet. There should actually be such a buffet in the Netherlands. Then I was there every weekend. And they have French vanilla coffee milk omg which was empty when I was there. I was in America for 6 weeks last year and I'm addicted to the French vanilla coffee creamer. 😊

Wow, everything looked absolutely delicious. I am so jealous right now. That eclair thing looked like the eclair cake that I make. It's really easy with graham crackers and vanilla pudding mix, then add chocolate frosting on top. Yum!

I've been to Shady Maple numerous times. It is ALWAYS delicious. If they have the ham meatballs with pineapple BBQ glaze, shoofly pie and homemade loaves of bread, they are a must try.
There’s a documentary about this place on UA-cam. Darn shame that in most of the US you can’t find a buffet with a search warrant these days (other than Vegas). I guess this place is so popular because they’ve all disappeared. Hopefully they make a comeback one day.
COVID killed off the buffet business. But it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a resurgence within 10-20 years as people get nostalgic for their childhood buffets as they grow older.

The rule of thumb, at least out here in Vegas, is to stay away from the salad bar and bread, fill up on the goodness of the meat and seafood, those are the most expensive things on the buffet! Steamed veggies are great with your meat, but limit the carbs, like potatoes and pasta. 😎👍
I usually go to the Shady on Wednesday night because it's AYCE beef rime rib & beef brisket night. 10% is the senior discount. The 12% is the tip, correct. You eat free on your birthday if you eat with a paying customer😅
Yes! Love shady Maple!!! Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania we went there atleast a few times a year. You need a trip to Gettysburg sometime. Tons of good restaurants and plenty of biking paths around the battlefield.
IF you ever go to southern Wisconsin, you need to try Bomb Burger in Burlington, WI. Best burgers, homemade ranch and burger sauce ever! Right now, they’re only open M-F.
I would get some flavored rice, if they have that. Some shrimps, oysters a fat/juicy kielbasa with some onions and peppers, and a vegetable. And a corn bread.

We visited Shary Maple 2 times in september, coming directly from Germany! We spent a few days in Gettysburg and the buffet was worth the trip!! 😍
