Love to taking thanks apart !! You did get something out of!! Hardware, motors, servo, wire is cool thang to have around .. NC❤ back yard RC.AND MORE.🖒💯👌
It´s worth slapping it back together as a shelf queen, as it´s so finely detailed. It was interesting to see inside this model, and to see that there´s no single major design flaw which stops it working properly on water. Obviously having the centre of thrust so high above the centre of drag isn´t ideal, but the full-size hovercraft on which this is based doesn´t stuff its nose under water every time the operator accelerates... I, too, own a rather crappy Chinese model hovercraft, and I´ve found that I never need to remove my skirt, preferring instead to simply lift it up whenever I need to gain access : )
Maybe if it actually had four independent lift motors (like a quadcopter) the gyro would be useful for something? Not sure if it does it any good as is - probably would work as well (if not better) without it. Making four zones of controlled pressure could make it more stable.
done lots of digging into hovercraft design a few years back, that thing looks very heavy for the amount of power available, and pretty CFM air flow restrictive... are problems for any hovercraft. the motor, bracket, and air passage could be ditched, cut out the stacks for 4 30 mm or larger ducted fan units, byebye to the whole bottom plate and pop a new skirt on it. doing all that I think it'd hover really good. the battery trap moved back and using a smaller lighter battery would also help. really neat looking, but poor+cheap design darnit. the passive fans up top DO restrict flow too, carved out for real fan units would be TONS stronger than restrictive vents all running into a single squirrel cage blower..... short version, I wouldn't give up on it to make it a wall hanger or shelf queen, above is what I'd call an attack plan for it.
winter coming up could be good for 1/2 hour here-n-there tinkering. it'd require 4 of these: www.ebay.com/itm/35mm-EDF-Accessory-8-blade-Fan-Rotor-Dia-35mm-PVC-Blue-Plastic-Ducted-Housing/163618587732?hash=item26186d8454:m:mb7I8QNZc5wKoPj_ffcqXNw OR 4 of these (smaller): www.ebay.com/itm/30mm-EDF-Accessory-8-blade-Fan-Rotor-Dia-30mm-PVC-Blue-Plastic-Ducted-Housing/163618587992?hash=item26186d8558:m:mb7I8QNZc5wKoPj_ffcqXNw and the motors to go with them, with luck the original lift fan ESC could run all 4 of them parallel....yup, 75-80 bucks later to MAKE it work properly... but it'd sure be a one of a kind!
Great honest Review Mate, Nevermind, maybe they will bring a decent one out next time, throw a hairdryer on top of it lol, great carpark drifting 😜 great video 👍😊👍
To be honest , something that is very easy for them to do is put the batery at the center of the hovercraft , it has space , the comand station is easy to put the same mechanism on the front , were you unscrew the lid to pop it out , it stabilizes the hovercraft, it still looks good and it even works better , kind-off a bruh moment for the design but it doesnt break the thing , from what it looks , it works prety well aside from the stabilization thing , witch doesnt make sense as it has a giroscope but maybe you have a faulty one or something
...... Wonder if the intake was restricted in addition to COG, dense/thick skirt issues ? Sucking in some of its own exhaust air because of a gap between fan and body ?
Waterlogged car parks are the best for for hovercraft as you can to land to water transitions and their is no risk of losing your model! I did pick up this model in the end for its scale looks and a bit of indoor fun but here's a much better craft of mine in a water logged car park ua-cam.com/video/LfsHI3qUiwk/v-deo.html. Thanks for taking the model apart!

shame they can't make that a better product dude. your channel has grown on me. watch your vids at least once a week now.
Thanks Mike, appreciate it

Shelf queen, or a custom pick up truck with 3 brushless props on the back! hmmmmmm
@@TomleyRC Custom pickup!

BINGO!! 4 30-32-36 mm ducted fan units and ditch a LOT of dead weight!
Nice idea, that would work for sure 👍
Great video mate. Agree, I wasn't that impressed with it. I might scrap it for parts
Not sure what Hovercrafts go for nowadays in scrap haha. In other 'HG' news.... took the P408 Hummer out today, wow.... now that is decent!
Really interesting electronics, dude. Really nice! 😃
Cheers dude

Cheers Tony ...not sure the misses will let me use her hair dryer!
Yes it does look very basic and unlike the price that you would pay for it
Problem with most rc hovercraft is not enough lift. Good looking model though.
The issue with this is not enough skirt to keep the lift air in. Just leaks out the sides!
You mean it was good lookin lol
Hi sorry I haven't commented too much recently but I try like and comment on every video of yours
No worries dude. 👍
Adding ballast underneath would have fixed it it's top heavy
It may have helped, but I'm not sure it would have fixed it
@@TomleyRC You would have to upgrade all the motors to compensate for the increased weight
very nice
Good one. A lot of screws. What a day to loose the power tool ☺️
Yes lol... I can't find it anywhere!
Cool video and great info, thanks for sharing
Uppgrade it then, put in a bigger motor for the lift fan.
its simply to light and also underowered , maybe a stronger liftfan could help out a lot
if you add some lead in the back the performance can be better , but how much gram we should add

Could be!
I like this hovercraft buts a lot of money for what it is likes good fun in that car park
fantastic 👏👏👏👏👏
Should tried a larger lift motor !!
It's got enough lift, it leaks as it is, anymore and it'll just hop about on the water
amazing rc models ,, rossia sea army ,,
You dang right I'm mad at you for wrecking it

The lift motor is too weak. It doesn't really hover on ground either. It just reduces the friction enough that it can move.
Hi tg i see that wen u took the bottom off that u met yr biggest fan lol
😂

O well ...i will .keep my rubber duck...👌
Quack Quack
Okay ❤
The old Tyco hovercraft was much better
I'm sure they were.... this thing is bad! haha
Too bad you didn't put a 3s system in it, and see how she does. You need to sort it out.
Crappy hovercraft. Good video.
I liked this mate you should take more shit apart haha! Like AVE for models 😜
Yeah, as long as I don't have to put it all back together again haha
