Don't bring umbrellas. The wind makes them useless.
Indeed. For example, Princes Street in Edinburgh - one of the main shopping and tourist venues - is quite a wind tunnel, running along a large east-west valley with the Castle Rock on one side and the New Town buildings on the other. The wind is funneled through. Umbrellas don't stand a chance there, as rainy days are also often windy days - when unfurled they immediately turn inside out and disintegrate. Something warm and waterproof with a hood is more useful
Calling the regal mountains of Scotland "hills" or "mini mountains" will offend everyone. Never follow his example.
But here in Scotland we call them hills?? Like we use mountain and hill interchangeably... cos our mountains are pretty small. Small but perfectly formed!
Also like all Americans he can not say Loch its not lock the ch is more guteral its Lo-c-hhhhhh.
Sorry, but that’s not going to offend anyone lol
@@sueKaynot in GLASGOW 😮😂😂😂🤔😁
@@user-ue2ul1hs2e Well my Glaswegian dad called them hills, and I've lived just outside Glasgow my whole life... and also call them hills... as does everyone else I know!
You can go pretty much wherever you like in Scotland - providing you don't harm the environment, so no fires; and leave the stones and flowers where they are, so that others can enjoy them, too.
Scotland is majestic in the rain & glorious in the sunshine. The mixture of weather is the reason our country is beautiful - the abundance of rain & sunshine makes the grass & foliage green.
There is a lot of wilderness. There's also a lot of culture and history.
We do have Michelin Starred restaurants. The area where i live, Leith, which is part of Edinburgh, has several high class restaurants. We also have some great bakeries and coffee/tea shops.
The oldest pub on The Shore, dates from the 1400s. Theres an old church in the middle of the street i live in which is also from the 1400s, originally, though most of what's left of it dates from the 1600s.
Sounds beautiful!
Love that you’re doing more on Scotland😁
I can see Edinburgh Castle from my house, it’s crazy seeing people not from here reacting to our castle’s. it does make you appreciate it a bit more because we’re just so used of it being there most of the time we forget it’s even there until you see all the tourists standing staring up at it in awe😁
The Edinburgh Tattoo that’s held there every year is amazing. If you like pipes and drums would recommend ‘Bagpipes Bands performing
"Amazing Grace" LIVE’
It blows me away every time listening to it.
Much love from Scotland💙🏴
The fact that you can see a castle from your house 😍😍.
@@NAIATHEDRAGON they fire a cannon from it at 1pm everyday that I can hear as well which is better than poxy clock chimes any day imo😁haha
In Scotland you have the right roam. So yes, you can pretty much go everywhere. just remember to leave no litter and shut all the relevant gates as you go through.
Also you can't go within 50 meters of a landowners private residence. The privacy law prevents this.
My parents, although English, had a long retirement to a Scottish island.
If you go to the most beautiful areas you will have to have a strategy for dealing with the midges. Load yourself up with a lot of midge repellent; they're worst in late summer. But they don't like breezes, so try to be in places where there's a wind.
One of the most glorious things is that there is no law of trespass in Scotland; so, provided one is considerate, you can walk all over the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
Above all, don" t suggest that you are in England, or that the Scots are English! Two very different peoples. Did you know that when the Crowns united in 1707, Scotland retained its own law? An example: in England and Wales ( or the United States) in criminal law you are either Guilty or Not Guilty. In Scotland you are either Guilty, Not Guilty, or Not Proven. And all the legal terms are different.
Haggis is delicious.
Those midges dont sound nice lol.
He's very rude about British food. It's actually delicious.
Of course he is. Cant you see he treats his body as a temple.😀
Come and see for yourself someday dude, if you drive you can get around Scotland in a few days, but you would need a lifetime to really see it. We don't "speak English here" We speak Scots if we spoke English he could have understood us. Scots spoke Scots when the official language of England was French, it was a common trade tounge spoken between Gaels, French and Anglo's, English borrows from French, Scots borrows from Nordic languages. I guess you could say they are sister languages, yet many people will correct someone saying that "Scots speak English" I am typing in English because this is what the schools taught, this is my interview voice I'm using.
We really do have castle everywhere. I barely go a day in my life without seeing one, cos there's one (and the remains of another) in my village, and another I see from the train on my commute!
You're living the dream!
Should check out the GLASGOW smile 😂😂🎉🎉
If you see the Lochness monster you've had a few to many glasses of Whiskey .
I'm feeling guilty NAIA! i've been watching a number of your videos and have not subscribed so have another subscriber with apologies lol!
No apologies needed 🙏. Thank you for being here.
Scotts seem to be ok with Tourists. But no so much with mobile homes of late. Theres been a lot dumping humon waste at roadsides and evryone gets tard with the same brush unfortunatly. The percentage doesent have to be big, But understandadly pissed them off. There is some really shitty people that ruin it for everyone. Also the Bugs are not as bad earlier in summer.
more north you go it becomes more Eng;ish,,,,,Inverness English is very pure
Don't take Wolter world to seriously over exaggerates. Also if people want to move somewhere they've seen in summer they need to see it in the middle of winter especially if they want to live rural /remote.
Makes sense!
We speak Scots, gaelic, Doric and English. Most people speak Scots day to day. There is no trespass law in Scotland so you have a right to roam
You do have to respect the privacy laws which mean you cannot go withing 50 meters of a landowners private residence.
And the landowners have the right to moan...:)
I have been to Edinburgh and didn't hear one Scottish accent.
Glasgow has the great accent all of the UK have cuisine from all over the world. Wales makes you feel like moving there too.
