It looks fantastic, Liz. It seems huge! So much space, so many possibilities. Why not go big when you've got the land to do so?! Interesting to see it on unlevel ground, I'd always assumed it would be necessary to level before hand so I was surprised to learn that is not always the case. They did a great job. I'll be tucking that bit of information away for future reference :)
As always, it'll be a learning curve to grow in a polytunnel this size, I'm going to try to make the best use of the height available with lots of climbing crops like melons, cucumbers and climbing courgettes.

This beauty of a tunnel will be for all the indoor veg growing, propagation and for a teaching space. I'm incredibly happy with it!
I have a very small version of this but unfortunately it was not possible for them to put up because of the restrictions at the time but the product is supper 😉
Hey Liz.. great vlog. I’m wondering what gases are given out by the composts you are thinking of leaving in your poly tunnel .? And if those gases are counterintuitive to the heat they may produce and your well being while breathing the gases….just saying… had you thought of that? I hope you keep your amazing vids coming… I love your content ..
I hadn't thought about gasses, but there is plenty of ventilation through the tunnel, so it should be fine to have a couple of heaps in there. Fingers crossed for next year!
I so would have made the area level before building the polytunnel, that would absolutely drive me crazy every time I used it. they only needed excavating on the high side, the internal could have been dealt with once it was up. IMHO they spoilt the ship for a ha'porth of Tar. You need to invest in a little quad bike and trailer Liz.
@@LizZorab Glad that your happy with it, but such a shame, it could have been done by reprofiling the existing ground with no need of retaining walls, mini diggers hire out at around £130 a week and you could have had a ball playing with the mud. Problem is I'm an engineer and for me it's all about cut and fill and moving the ground around. May be worth thinking about it for your second tunnel when you have more time and hopefully funds coming in. I do have polytunnel envy as I only have two 6ft x 4ft greenhouses but would not invest in a polytunnel on a council allotment due to the vandalism, so looking forward to see how you develop the inside and and get cracking. Love the idea of compost heap hot bed type heating inside.
I've started to add rabbit proof fencing to this area so that rabbits won't have access to the polytunnel. I couldn't put the fencing in before the polytunnel was up as I needed to know exactly where it was sited to be able to put in fence posts. Let's hope the new fencing keeps the rabbits out as well as it does in the food forest.
Let me know how you deal with bugs in the tunnel in the summer! I’m hoping to keep mine eco friendly while not such an entomologists paradise that crop growing is tricky
@@alexcole4970 thanks 😊 I’ve tried neem oil but it killed one of my pumpkins 🎃 last summer so hopefully garlic would be effective without the same adverse effects!

Hey Liz..
I couldn't afford to get the site levelled and a retaining wall built. I'm happy with where it is as that's the least hilly part of our site!
Wow, it’s look really good😍
Am wonder how much it cost you? I am thinking to get one myself
There's a link to the manufacturer's website in the video description so you can check out prices.
Won't the bunnies dig through underneath?
I've started to add rabbit proof fencing to this area so that rabbits won't have access to the polytunnel. I couldn't put the fencing in before the polytunnel was up as I needed to know exactly where it was sited to be able to put in fence posts. Let's hope the new fencing keeps the rabbits out as well as it does in the food forest.
Let me know how you deal with bugs in the tunnel in the summer! I’m hoping to keep mine eco friendly while not such an entomologists paradise that crop growing is tricky
Hope this helps - garlic is your friend. Look into garlic solutions and bugs. I have found it kills off any nasty that it killing my crops!
@@alexcole4970 thanks 😊 I’ve tried neem oil but it killed one of my pumpkins 🎃 last summer so hopefully garlic would be effective without the same adverse effects!
how much was it?
Probably free because of UA-cam advertising
When you say you got this tunnel from first tunnels did you buy it or were given it free? Its not clear to me , Im guessing you bought it as if you had been given it you have to state that clearly in the video so as to not mislead 🤔just trying to understand.
