I think all you guys have been watching each other’s videos. You don’t have to remove the filter housing. Leave it mounted. Loosen the filter housing cap then wiggle / pop the top off. You also place the new filter into the top section primer 1st. It will pop up into the primer. Replace the housing seal. Lower the filter that’s attached to the primer back into the bowl. Give it a bit of wiggle & push down as it will Aline into the bowl. Tighten up, prime & check for leaks. Start.. it will most likely shut down. Prime again and your away.
Its so much easier and less mess. I hope it helps with your next filter change. And if I see you with a screw driver trying to pry the filter open. I’ll get you a thumbs down lol. All the best 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺

Thank George for the kind reply. Apparently, Oem filters suit the engine to make car run better over others.

For starters you do not take the whole unit out. The fuel filter has a drain plug in the bottom for draining out fuel but mainly water from the system. The wires connected to the fuel filter are for a water sensor which tells you when there is water in the filter and you drain it out using the drain plug. People you should read the owners manual.

Thanks for the tip. I don't have a owner's manual for the triton, but wanted to check all out while changing the filter.

And there ain't nothing wrong with Ryco filters, your comment on people having trouble with them is slightly eroneus as is my spelling.

Hi Kezza, according to some mechanics MRT performance they have come across some issues. Perhaps it depends on what you drive. The issues were car striving of fuel creating a jerking action not a smooth ride. The issues are new, not the old ones something in their manufacturing. I believe they have sorted it out.

@@haydoslifeadventures8583 appreciated, I suppose I am a little biased. I have always used their filters since 1967 when I bought my first car a 1939 Austin 8, then ended up owning a company that did their machinery maintenance. That is before everyone stopped manufacturing here and had it made overseas (stupid buggers) but then, most of them where forced into it. But even so, I always found their quality to be top notch.
      Cheers mate.
