Some things I wanna say as a person whose been a fan since their first album, when they were new. I first seen them back in 2012, I was barely 18 years old and it was my first concert. Now I can say, these guys have been playing a long time now as of today, but I can also say, their performance has NOT changed in the last 10-11 years since I last watched a full set (in person) of them. They still perform the same, they still act quite the same, especially, but overall, they of course look much older, but they also sound the same. And with the way they look now, you can still they’re so used to playing the same songs and so used to playing and performing that it’s just no sweat off their skin. Just effortless to them in a lot of ways because it’s just another day. But the look on their faces, I can tell, sooner or later, they’re going to take a long break and pursue other things.
Imma preface this with: I am not arguing or trying to sound rude with any of this whole band rant incoming, I am a music nerd and this whole new era/albums have me so excited lol As another fan from the og 2010 start of the band I agree and disagree with this just for the fact that Andy getting sober (in 2016) and BVB taking a break (removing an old member) did change a lot, but in a positive way. Yes they are still amazing performing as before, but on an actual musical level they were being held back and the new era of the band that happened with the release of Re-stitch These Wounds and adding Lonny really showed how much their sound evolved. Andys voice has changed a lot since his solo project. We used to never hear him sing the higher notes by lifting his palate and using his head voice, the higher notes were still sung from his throat using his chest voice. When the band took a break (and almost broke up) it gave him a chance to expand his voice and really learn what he can do. Rebel Love Song is a great example of that. The modern rendition compared to the first release from STWOF you can really hear the difference. Even their music composition in general has expanded and become more complex when comparing the old live shows to the new era. I honestly have a hard time listening to the self titled album and Vale because of what the band was going through it really showed in the lyrics and mood of the songs. Then you get the anger from their ep release of Saints of the Blood and The Vengeance, which morphed into the theme of redemption in The Mourning EP. Which was only solidified by Lonny getting the title of "The Redeemer" when joining the band. This new album blew me away and you can really tell the band is back to being as in sync as they were creatively before. I cant wait to see what they put out next and Im so freaking sad I missed them this tour
I went to see VV mainly, this was my first exposure to BVB past Temple of Love on spotify lol. I thought out loud and said "Andy stand still challenge" and "sisterhood of the traveling mic stand" and made the girl sitting next to me in the ADA section laugh. She said they do, in fact, always perform like they shotgunned 5 redbulls each.
This is such a great cover version! Kinda a triple Hattrick. A great, classic song, performed by a young and energetic band, featuring an icon of my youth ... simply great! Just added this worthy cover song to my Shellshocked Radio Recommendation List: ua-cam.com/video/J8A7qlaAa7U/v-deo.html
Came for VV, stayed out of curiosity. Most of the crowd stayed for BVB. I don't think anyone in the ADA section with me left. Hard to accurately judge the GA crowd from the side but it was still pretty full.
Andy plays the character in the show but it isn't his voice. The voice singing in The Relentless is Remington Leith who is the lead singer of Palaye Royale.
Stevie t wasn’t saying he hates them he was going off of online ranks, and they are one of the most hated. It’s just cause people don’t understand the band, they’re labeled as a metal band but they’re hard rock. What’s funny to me is even bvb themselves say it’s a hard rock band lol
Bvb has always been one of my biggest musical influences for the fact they aren’t just djent like most modern metal, don’t get me wrong I love some metalcore but I love the style especially from we stitch these wounds and set the world on fire
Most people who don't like bvb think the only reason why bvb us popular is for Andy's looks. But that's just not true. I fell in love with the music and the voice first, then found out he's actually quite hot on top. But I wouldn't listen if the music was shit. The music is fire and he has a very recognizable voice.
@@ItsBrysonNot only that, a lot of the hate came from how they looked and dressed in the early days of th band...and the fact they were never ones to back down from assholes. This band has literally had bottles of pee thrown at them before at festivals
Well, to take into account, they have a *lot* of songs with harsh vocals in them (the fry screams, lows and highs etc) so they may have to make it shorter because of straining risks
@@SyntheticSinematicsThis is exactly it. They have a large variety of rough vocals and the reason Andy is able to make it look so easy is because of how much he takes care of his voice. They had to cancel multiple shows and the end of a european tour in the 2010s due to him getting sick. He wised up and doesnt push himself past the point of hurting his vocal cords because he wants to still be doing this in his 50's. He also has a giant kit of supplies that he uses before/during/and after shows to keep his voice healthy.
There was 2 other bands before him he only had enough time before the venue would kick them out. Plus he cares about his voice. Most of there songs are screams and shit
With respect, a cop out. Plenty of heavy bands do sets longer than an hour. I love thr guys, I've been a fan since WSTW. Saying they need longer sets doesn't make me like their music any less. But for people like me with a wife, kid and couple of jobs; I'm not driving hours to a gig for only an hour.
@@BBRBGR Its a cop out to properly take care of themselves so they dont have to stop doing what they love by severely injuring themselves? How self centered can you get there bud, goddamn what a shite take. If you don't like it, don't go. But don't expect people to do damage to themselves just to please your spoiled ass
It probably has more to do with the bad quality of my videos. I have a cheap android phone. During the first song, they didn't have the vocals loud enough and the music was over powering the lyrics. They quickly fixed it and the rest sounded great live although I know my video doesn't do it justice.
Do you know there's something called resonance? Many many singers have it, that allows them to sing loud and clear without having to stick the mic to their lips, just sayin'
Music teacher here. That's what's called "proper technique." He is most definitely singing. The fact that you can't tell makes it hilarious and amazing.
I mean, tbh I was there and they put on a fantastic show. Alas, the venue really sucks. I've been to three shows at Hard Rock now and all three had horrible sound mixing. But the energy on stage was awesome. If it doesn't come through to you in the video, that's a shame.
I’d love to see u do better, but I’m sure you couldn’t handle it so no their skills aren’t terrible smh if u don’t like bvb maybe don’t watch there’s that crazy idea that might’ve went over your head the video is great btw
