    THis is good Kai, is there a way to wrap it around 3D text? Do you know the 90s X-Men cartoon? At the end of the intro, I'd like to create something like that, but all I've seen on YT are about the lightning itself. I'm guessing it's something to do with one of the panels on the right and slaving it to wrap around a particular object?

    • @TutsByKai
      @TutsByKai  4 роки тому +2

      Sure! If you model it instead of a straight line, but into the curve... you can use the build modifier to create the animation! Sounds really neat man! I'd love to see it where you're done!! 😊

    Little help? I followed along and got my lightning to look SICK in the viewport... However, when I render, the strength displacement graph doesn't do anything. I tried making individual keyframes for the scale of each frame of the bolt, but when I apply the modifier it goes away. Any tips?

  • @Majotsukai
    @Majotsukai 4 роки тому +1

    Another great tutorial, Kai. I had a question about key frames though. Does it matter if I choose a scaling key frame when I’m actually doing a rotation in that frame? Or are the key frames (scaling/rotation/location/etc.) more to keep your animation more organized?

    • @TutsByKai
      @TutsByKai  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks a bunch, Michael! :) It does matter. If you're trying to scale your object, but insert a rotation keyframe, Blender ONLY inserts a new rotation axis... and since you didn't rotate it, it won't move. Did that make sense? :D Using things like automatic keyframing (the circle next to the play, pause, and skip buttons) will insert a keyframe for EVERY type of movement, EVERY TIME you move said object. So if you want to get the rotation, location and scale each time your move your object - just hit auto keyframing on! Gonna be making a video about keyframes specifically... so stay tuned for that!! :) Great question by the way!

    • @Majotsukai
      @Majotsukai 4 роки тому +1

      TutsByKai thanks so much for the explanation! That definitely makes sense. I can’t wait for your keyframing tutorial. Animation is the main reason I started my Blender journey. Did you teach yourself Blender?

      Thanks. Lightning tends to be super sharp and not very smooth. It should be a bit smaller of bits, like I mentioned - you can create them as big or as small as you want... just didn't want to waste your time making a bigger one :)
