The system this was played on made it mystical. Larry would drown the bass and leave the highs then increase and decrease the volume. Then you'd get smacked by BASS. it was church. That is the only description that fits
This came on one night at the Black Box. I was there with my Aunt Renee. She turned me into a club head. I dropped to the ground and started to vogue. She lost her mind. Lol. R.I.P Aunt Renee. I miss you.
Something spread around Chicago, like an airborne pathogen and, they called house-music but, it was more then that, it was a movement. Love all y'all, you know who you are. RIP RON HARDY,
Damn ..this song hits me, SO DEEP ..and it's SO true ..Nothing stays the same ...Like, when I listen to this, and I think of my brother and sister, who are, now, gone ...and how we used to listen to these House songs (WBMX Chicago) ..but time marches on..
Memories of the Paradise Garage, in NYC. Those were the days :) Get to the club Friday night/Saturday morning, dance all night, come out the club 9:00 in the morning. Those were the days :)
Got to let you know there was a lot more music after 9:00AM. Larry usually ended his sets at 1:00PM, or 2:00PM, in the afternoon. Don’t let it be a special holiday, weekend, than it would 3:00M. There never was, or ever will be another Club like The Paradise Garage !🕺🏾💃🏿
and head to Riis Beach to sleep it off from The Garage or some folks went to church...I remember getting on the 2 train from 241st at 3/4:00a.m..I lived in Mount Vernon..to go the Garage..can these folks imagine that today!!...thats when the club will be hot...the performers, Grace, Chaka..not getting to the stage until like 6:00a.m..lol..Grace later than that!!! her Slave to the Rhythm show..our friend, she passed out by the stage waiting for Grace to come on ...we didn't move for hours..
Love it…I was 12/13 when I heard this and I loved it. The older kids on the block in NJ played this and Move Your Body on repeat. Those were some great times.
OMG, this track was one of the first house tracks I've heard. I was in winter break in my senior year of hs. I was listening to WBLS doing their lunchbreak mix. Sweet memories! 😌🥲🎧📻
I am much more Maryland and Virginia than any other part of the United States! Yes, I graduated Howard University in 1993 ( So did VP Harris/ 1986)! I am a working class person from a family with a college educated mother! Education is a valuable commodity in the world! I am very real! I will say Howard University had a House Scene from 1990-1996 (not living there but in Maryland in 1996). I have a cousin in the Chicago Suburbs. House in Chi-Town was popular in working class areas ( afro- americans made the music more popular). I will say I love how House Music became popular in New York Fashion!
The best year's of my life nothing stays the same, and time marches on Damm 36 yrs ago WOW seems like yesterday when I was recording this off KKC🎉89.3 my House music 🎶 is still my #1 addiction 😢😂😊

House Music is a universal language. It brings all the people together. #Frankie Knuckles
