With the road nationals missed this year, my next goal for this season will be improving on my 2nd place finish from last year in gravel. The weapon of choice will be this @3tbike Racemax Italia. Apart from the bling frameset, I also have some cool new gravel components to test, including a new wheel system, some funky handlebars and the just-released GRX 12spd groupset.

Hi and thanks for sharing. I've recently faced same dilemmas as you did. Right now, I've waiting to receive componentry for a new "racing" gravel bike.
Cockpit integration came with FSA ACR system (because BH framesets use their standards). FSA specific gravel handlebar range AGX, might interest you if you look forward for wider handlebars.
Also went with GRX but 1x12 820 w/ Force 1x crankset & Quarq powermeter. Gear ratio, 44x10-50T for single fast days (lots of tough +20% climbing in my area). I was interested too into trying Alugear chainrings as you did. Found Stone reliable and cheap, more suitable for my applications (been using them for years now). Not sure if chainring offset could be modified under order by any manufacturer.
Surprised me that you went to low profile rims.
As per tires, you know whell that RS are fast as hell. Keen to see if the pro trend is to go even wider (~60mm) with thinner carcass. I've seen lately the Panaracer's X1 R and SS come to the matket, but not tested myself. For training purposes, and good avalaibility, I've leaned towards Vittoria Mezcal 44mm.
Another thing that made me also get surprised is with the 2x hub. Good option that could help you go to closer gear cassette with efficiency (Shimano still runs 11T cog for good reason!)

As for wide handlebars, it’s the opposite of what I am looking for 🙃

Would it have been more advantageous to go with a chain ring with holes cut in it for weight due to gravel racing being slower speeds and aero not as big a factor? Or is that bike going to be near the weight limit anyway when it's done? I don't know anything about gravel racing just curious.

A small reduction in drag will always outweigh a tiny reduction in weight. An aero gravel bike will not be close to the weight limit at the current state of technology.

I have more to offer. Respectfully. It’s really no one’s business. Secondly at 25k+ subs and many more thousands that view his channel who are not subscribed position Ronnie as an in-expensive marketing solution to Bicycle, Component & Gear manufactures. Third. He carries credibility as an athlete having demonstrated successful performances at high levels. Fourth and lastly. There might be more. His savvy of technical information and ability to articulate his content is clear and professional. Most companies would find that an absolute win win. Great for everyone.

As far as I know, there’s no high performance bicycle on the market that would be made of plastic.
Although, pretty much the same can be said of steel…
