A. In the Bible, Gabriel is a messenger angel of God, so its fitting the Entity's chosen human emissary is someone named Gabriel. Cool detail. B. A very small detail that I love is when they realize Grace has to get on the train alone, Grace makes Ethan promise he will be there. Earlier in the movie Gabriel tells Grace that Ethan will leave her for the mission because he only cares about the mission (we know that's not true). When Ethan shows up and saves her (that insane crash into the train) you can see the moment Grace believes in him happen. She cries and shakes her head when he asks if she's okay. Great acting moment from Hayley and nice moment in the movie.
This was another great entry in the M:I film series. I particularly enjoyed this one. Yes, Ilsa's death stung but I feel it was a necessary narrative choice to up the stakes and further establish the threat (though I'll miss her). I'm genuinely excited for Part 2. Great reaction, guys! Just discovered your channel.
Nah, not really. Ilsa's death felt like it was only there for either the actress leaving the franchise for maybe schedule reasons, or mostly because they wanted a new woman character and you apparently can't have two female spies on the group. Or it was just Tom Cruise getting bored with Rebecca Ferguson and wanting a new hot lady to work with.
How was it "necessary"? They replaced her with another beautiful brunette, like they were interchangeable, and a character that is waaaay less endearing and interesting than Ilsa.
After the movie we were actually discussing this. It’s an M:I movie…so we’re never too sure if someone is fully dead. After all sometimes what they show isn’t fully real (unreliable narrator) but it did look pretty finite. They wanted a death to up the stakes as you mentioned but didn’t go for Benji or Luther which we believe as bad as that would’ve hurt it would’ve been the stronger choice. And because we were also introduced to Grace it feels like they swapped them. Combine that with the film not having time to mourn her in any real capacity it lacked the depth to make an impact. It just hurt and then we moved on. Again this could be for a number of reasons we won’t know for sure until part two comes out.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Hey. About Ilsa's status. You say that we're never sure if someone is fully dead. First of all, it's not an MCU movie. :D Secondly, let's say she's not dead (either someone resurrected her... but it would imply that Hunt and his crew let her corpse rot somewhere... ^^; or it was someone else wearing an Ilsa mask... but seriously, how ?) : bringing her back in part 2 would suck, hard. I'd be glad to see her again, big fan of the actress, but it would make her death a cheat plot point, the damage would be done. I've read theories according to which it would be all fake, like Phelps' death in M:I, it would be a ploy, and Ethan & Cie would act like Ilsa's dead to deceive the Entity, but it feels way too contrived, imo. To me, go figure what went through McQ's head, she's dead dead. Which is why, as you say, the aftermath was so underwhelming. But sure, I'm not saying there's no way part 2 will surprise us. A small detail I really love is that during the train bridge collapse scene, the explosions sound and explode just like the beat in the main theme. Specifically the actual destruction of the bridge.
The production had real problems with the locals in Poland where that bridge is located, because the idea was to destroy the bridge for real since it was no longer used by the trains, but the locals didn't let Paramount to go with the plan because for them the bridge has a historical meaning, so I guess they made a model of bridge exploding.

38:44 Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 is a great movie. The best Mission: Impossible movie in years. Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell had good chemistry. An American spy with help from his team and a female thief sets out to save the world from a sentient cyber weapon.

Ilsa ain’t dead. I know it looks like she died, but I’m 99.99% sure it’s a fake out. The only way to beat the Entity is to introduce a variable that it doesn’t know about. Now Ilsa can operate freely, unchecked by the Entity. Remember the first movie where Phelps faked his death on a bridge? This parallel is not accidental. Ilsa will return at a pivotal moment in Part 2.
PS: I like how this film and the next one is structured. Part 1 is about the key that who ever has it can use it to have control of the rogue AI. And the mission is to get the complete key. Part 2 is obviously going to be about using that key to get access to the submarine where the Entity is in embedded.
This whole movie is just biblical if you know what i mean, but it is still such a solid Mission Impossible film and can't wait for Part 2 of Dead Reckoning!
This airport is the Midfiled Terminal aka Terminal A in Abu Dhabi International Airport in Abu Dhabi, UAE, which is worth $3B that will be opening on 1st of November, 2023
The thing I love about this script is that it's a bit of a call back to the Stuxnet virus. DHS reported to the NSA that their system was under cyber attack... The NSA was reluctant to admit that it was their own cyber weapon that was released and ran amok across the globe.
What do Harry Potter and Mission: Impossible have in common? They both have 8 installments with the 7th one being a 2 parter finale. This and Ghost Protocol are my favorite M:I films.
I've just watched MI-DR Part 1, the credits is rolling as I type. Wow, this film is the best MI film I've even seen. It even hints of Ethan's past life before he joined IMF. I'm hoping that in part two, get more insight on his past life. Since everyone know that the train crash scene is literally a reference to *Uncharted 2* I'm convince that Grace is literally a female mirror version of Drake: She's a orphan and a thief. So does that make Ethan Hunt, Sully?
36:40 - this is probably just ONE of only two things you could count on Ethan to do: spare a life unless absolutely necessary. The other one is that you can count on him to never quit despite the odds; hence the franchise's name. Also running.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Was completely heartbroken in the theatre :( NGL the scene of her snuggling into Ethan's arms on the bridge in Vienna is everything any guy ever wants 😄💔💔😭😭😭
Mission Impossible was so good! So glad you guys are reacting to this!! Another movie you should check out is The Batman its so good!! Would love to see your reaction to that!
Another great reaction! The"Mission Impossible" movies just keep getting better! The action scenes alone are as, um, "unpredictable" as Tom Cruise, who's meant to play Ethan Hunt. Fun Facts: Grace is played by Hayley Atwell, who's Agent/Captain Carter in the MCU & Ilsa, is played by Pom Klimentieff (sp?), AKA "Mantis" from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, so they can definitely handle action scenes. Esai Morales made his big-screen debut as a villain in "Bad Boys" opposite Sean Penn & Clancy Brown, has a guest role as a vampire in the final season of the TV reboot of "From Dusk Till Dawn" & is Bob Valens, Richie Valen's brother in "La Bamba." As for Gabriel, he's played by Cary Elwes, who's also Westley in "The Princess Bride." Other movies you could react to: "Collateral," "Edge of Tomorrow," "Apollo 13," "One False Move," "Near Dark," "True Lies," "A Simple Plan" & "Trespass," a movie with Bill Paxton playing one of 2 firefighters who go on a treasure hunt and cross paths with gangsters played by Ice-T and Ice Cube.
I enjoyed all the movies, and I especially loved the last one. The action in this movie had the immense WOW factor too, but I liked the movie much more through your reactions to it. For the first time, many of the scenes felt like they were acting- not bringing me into their "world" And the loss of Ilsa felt like a blip, instead of gut wrenching loss.
WHAT EVER PEOPLES SAID , THE FACT IS REBECCA FERGUSON'S ILSA FAUST CHARACTER THAT WE KNOW AND LOVED FOR EIGHT YEARS IS BEING KILLED OFF AND BECOMING A CORPSE ON THE VENICE BRIDGE ‼️😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔 , THAT HAD DISAPOINTED US AND BROKE OUR HEARTS AT THE SAME TIME 😡😡😡😡👿

@@boboboy8189 No, the train crash was filmed in real way, there were many amateur videos 2 years ago, of them filming the train falling into the abyss, look for the video: Mission Impossible 7 Train Crash and you'll see, even a helicopter films the fall.

PS: I like how this film and the next one is structured.
Part 1 is about the key that who ever has it can use it to have control of the rogue AI. And the mission is to get the complete key.
Part 2 is obviously going to be about using that key to get access to the submarine where the Entity is in embedded.
I love the recognition from Twister! Not Robin Hood or Princess Bride but Twister! Lolz yes!!
5:07: Definitely a Ghost in The Machine. hehe
This whole movie is just biblical if you know what i mean, but it is still such a solid Mission Impossible film and can't wait for Part 2 of Dead Reckoning!
Speaking of Taggart's cinematography, I also love Eddie Hamilton's editing in this movie.
My favourite of the franchise .. so good 👍
Guys mission impossible the final reckoning is coming out may 2025 . It’s looks so good from the trailer
This was a good one!
Such a fun ride!
I always forget that Vanessa Kirby’s character Alanna is the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave’s Max from the first film.
This was an awesome film.. this was the movie that made me recognise that Tom Cruise is the last true movie star.
What do Harry Potter and Mission: Impossible have in common? They both have 8 installments with the 7th one being a 2 parter finale. This and Ghost Protocol are my favorite M:I films.
The ambiance of the sandstorm was unreal in Imax.
I've just watched MI-DR Part 1, the credits is rolling as I type. Wow, this film is the best MI film I've even seen. It even hints of Ethan's past life before he joined IMF. I'm hoping that in part two, get more insight on his past life.
Since everyone know that the train crash scene is literally a reference to *Uncharted 2* I'm convince that Grace is literally a female mirror version of Drake:
She's a orphan and a thief. So does that make Ethan Hunt, Sully?
I haven’t seen it yet but this was a good reaction, easy to follow the story.
36:40 - this is probably just ONE of only two things you could count on Ethan to do: spare a life unless absolutely necessary. The other one is that you can count on him to never quit despite the odds; hence the franchise's name. Also running.
Fantastic movie!! 🤘😎🤘 I love Rebecca Ferguson! 💘💗🥰🥰😁😂🤣😂🤣💪😎💪
It was awesome! Ilsa will be missed
@@OfficialMediaKnights Was completely heartbroken in the theatre :(
NGL the scene of her snuggling into Ethan's arms on the bridge in Vienna is everything any guy ever wants 😄💔💔😭😭😭
Love your reactions you guys! Keep up the excellent work and thanks for keeping us entertained!
the actor that played Wesly in the princess Bride is in this and his name is Cary Elwes
Mission Impossible was so good! So glad you guys are reacting to this!! Another movie you should check out is The Batman its so good!! Would love to see your reaction to that!
Love these movies ❤
Love your reaction mission impossible is badass 💯💯as always
Damn thats good ,movie reaction....ive have fun 😍 watching you both...
Really enjoy you alls commentary and depth of knowledge of film. Continued success
Esai Morales made his big-screen debut as a villain in "Bad Boys" opposite Sean Penn & Clancy Brown, has a guest role as a vampire in the final season of the TV reboot of "From Dusk Till Dawn" & is Bob Valens, Richie Valen's brother in "La Bamba." As for Gabriel, he's played by Cary Elwes, who's also Westley in "The Princess Bride."
Other movies you could react to: "Collateral," "Edge of Tomorrow," "Apollo 13," "One False Move," "Near Dark," "True Lies," "A Simple Plan" & "Trespass," a movie with Bill Paxton playing one of 2 firefighters who go on a treasure hunt and cross paths with gangsters played by Ice-T and Ice Cube.
My issue with that movie is that I only remembered about the two sidekicks. Every other previous characters...; I couldn't remember.
I am amazed at this movie!! Its the 7th and its my favorite.
I enjoyed all the movies, and I especially loved the last one. The action in this movie had the immense WOW factor too, but I liked the movie much more through your reactions to it. For the first time, many of the scenes felt like they were acting- not bringing me into their "world" And the loss of Ilsa felt like a blip, instead of gut wrenching loss.
this movie was so freaken awesome,,,im amazed how society ignored it
Two actors from the Agent Carter TV show, BTW.
But director is DC fans, he Even send script for Man of Steel 2 to WB but they refuse to make that happen
AI “What is always approaching but never arrives?”
Denise…your mission should you choose to accept it is to become an IMF agent! 😎
this is the only movie i saw twice in cinemans soo good
WHAT EVER PEOPLES SAID , THE FACT IS REBECCA FERGUSON'S ILSA FAUST CHARACTER THAT WE KNOW AND LOVED FOR EIGHT YEARS IS BEING KILLED OFF AND BECOMING A CORPSE ON THE VENICE BRIDGE ‼️😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔 , THAT HAD DISAPOINTED US AND BROKE OUR HEARTS AT THE SAME TIME 😡😡😡😡👿
you guys should do the bourne movies if you haven't seen them, i get the feeling you'd like them a lot.
they are very popular movies but for whatever reason there aren't a lot of reactions on them.
the only frenchise that keeps getting better with its next movie
Hi there and hello Media Knights.
I agree with you that the stunt work in the Mission movies is second to none but the RedBull guys do this sort of thing before breakfast.
Fall out is by far the best.
I want Pom in the next few movies, joining the IMF!! Cary Elwes is the primary character in Princess Bride and Robin Hood - Men in Tights. And yes, he was also in Twister.
The train fall is real too, it is not CGI, if you watch behind the scenes videos on UA-cam you will see that it is 100% real.
Only the inside of train is real, the outside when it fell its CGI
@@boboboy8189 No, the train crash was filmed in real way, there were many amateur videos 2 years ago, of them filming the train falling into the abyss, look for the video: Mission Impossible 7 Train Crash and you'll see, even a helicopter films the fall.
And de video name: Mission Impossible filming in Darlton Quarry. Second day of filming when the carriage was dropped .
Yes, it may be that the only CGI there is is the creation of the bridge, since in the amateur videos on UA-cam of those who recorded the moment, you can only see a ramp, you can't see the bridge, but the train that falls it is real. @@boboboy8189
the train moment is like unchaarted 2 i think or 3
MI movies are keep better and better! can't wait for part 2!
The white widows mother is Max from the first MI
yeah, I past on seeing this MISSION IMPOSSIBLE at the theater when I read in the title "part one"! I AM so glad I waited to see it 'first time' will you.
39:20 yeah, when I saw that in the theatre, I lost interest in the movie for like 5-10 minutes. Ilsa is such a fan favourite.
I’m a ride or die for the MI franchise but killing Ilsa was a big mistake.
I feel like everyone feels the same unanimously. She’ll be missed. Would’ve loved to see way more of her character 😓
This shouldn't be underrated but I feel like it's going to be more forgotten then other MI movies just cause it's a P1
I’m scared for Luther’s life in the next one. I really think Luther will sacrifices his life to kill the Identity.
This is a solid movie but I still prefer Rogue Nation and Fallout.
There was a rumor that they might shoot an scene in actual space (with Space X's help) in the next one.
