Rulof Fai da Te I once mounted a torch into my astronomy telescope and it was very nearly like a laser. I'm sure that if I had taken it to the top of a mountain then I could have illuminated things several kilometres away. It could certainly illuminate clouds very well.
I'm fascinated (not just by this vid but by most of this guys videos)! I can cut open a persons chest and depressurize a cardiac tamponade, but wouldn't have the slightest clue as to where to start if someone were to say "make an LED that fits inside an old camera"... Kudos, Rulof Maker !
indiesthlm I can cut open persons chest too.I just don't guarantee he will live to tell the story. Jokes aside, since you are the doctor, could you answer me this question?I am 0- blood group(O- in some countries).Could i possibly donate my organs to anyone?I want to donate a part of my liver to a girl from my town, but the doctors said it is not possible. However, they keep giving us number of a private clinic that asks 450 dollars for matching test.I donated bone marrow and blood before, maybe 2 years ago(Blood every 3 months with local bikers).Should there be more recovery inbetween and is tge private clinic a scam? Thanks!
Bryan Young Too much paste will be worst... paste is only needed to fill surface imperfections. The paste don't transfer heat as good as direct metal contact.
I'm getting together the main parts. maybe a bit more info on the electronics, the 12>74 volt Driver: Specs on the 2 capacitors and the 2 chips . Can't see if there are any resistors. Anyway, I've tried a bunch of your stuff SO FAR, and they do work!! KEEP 'EM COMING, THANK YOU!!!
The small aperture dims the light too much. Given the F/3.8 aperture and the black camera inside approximately 90 percent of the light never comes out of your lamp. You should have used a big lens with extremely short focal length between the LED and the zoom lens. (...or a cheap torch from e-bay.)
*Hi Rulof, can io ask something please.* WOW thats really cool. Might try that. Would it project images from slides as well? or would the transparency just melt please? ... Im going to check through my old camera gear EEEEEeee!
So I just finished building a similar light in a camera. I used a CPU heatsink on the back but the effect is the same- I want to focus the light with the camera lens. Unfortunately, it's bringing into focus the yellow rim of the light and each individual LED, not to mention it seems to be much dimmer. How did you get around this problem?
Three led light bars..reckon their 500 watt units to give that much lumens brightness and for good industrial work at night where lighting is none existant.
Nice... but... you are loosing light there... the standard lens looses about 5 stops of light... that means the light is 5 times less powerfull going out of that lens
tell me the background music name or the version because i think that it's for passenger let it her go but wich remiw i don't know you know so tell me if you can ( ithnik that you can )
You simply waste light power of led using those lens. F 1:4 is causing at least 4 times less light passing through it. Why don't you use regular single glass lens?
Now you only need anti aircraft gun ,since you made spotlight and you are ready to defend against air raids ! Oh make siren too! I seen a guy on youtube that made spotlight with regular flashlight and magnify glass. He mounted it on a peace of board, very simple flashlight has to be on a distance from magnifying glass.
I don´t know but the massive cooler and a fan seems so me like a massive overkill for such an LED, the cameras body was already metal, a much smaller heatsink would have been enough
Here i do lamping for rabbits at light with lurchers and i have a hunting lamp that cast me 150€ would that lamp be any good my one gose 150 straight in a line ????
Great project..but i though eveything would fit in the body to make it still look like a camera but in truth everything is nearly bolted on extera but great project.
Maybe with a smaller LED and a bigger camera you could put the battery and the heat sink inside, just with a flat fan a a hole on one side to dissipate the heat At least it would still look like a camera, not some kind of mutant superlazer
Imhotep Four It would be but being visible from mars is not a necessity. My S3 mini makes way enough light and im not even sure it uses one watt, so 5 watts would be way enough with good bright LEDs.
500 watt at 12 volt requires 41.6 amps.. Seriously doubt you are pulling 41.6 amps from that battery, or even through those wires :p Looks more like 50-80 watt actual use.
TwitchingDan You certainly can't compare it like that. If you need to compare it, there is only one way,, then it's lumen. Lumen is the amount of Light. Watt is the effect. So a scientific comparison would be where you would say this x1 Watt incandescent emmits a value of Y lumen at 1 meter, And this x2 Watt led also emmits Y lumen at 1 meter. But the effect is much much lower.
Awesome project! I like how you can now use various lenses to control the spread of light, and the shutter button is a super idea.
Yes, it is the most interesting thing! I would like too try a telephoto! I imagine a beam like a laser!

indiesthlm hahahah just have imagination and fun...
indiesthlm I can cut open persons chest too.I just don't guarantee he will live to tell the story.

I think every Enthusiast PC Builder cringed while watching the Thermal Paste Part of this Video - At least I did.
Lol so true
Duraltia He won't have to worry about heat transfer; that's for sure.
Duraltia You can never use too much paste xD
Duraltia Yes i almost shat myself.
Bryan Young Too much paste will be worst... paste is only needed to fill surface imperfections. The paste don't transfer heat as good as direct metal contact.
Excellent idea, and very well planned and executed, thanks!
Pretty generous with that thermal paste :D Thanks for the tutorial
hahahah yes to much... :(
Rulof Maker *too much! Rulof se gli inglesi devono capire fagli capire bene ;)
TheZipippino hai ragione! grazie!
Rulof Maker ;) puoi fare un tutorial sui laser? so che l'hai gia fatto ma io intendo esperimenti , laser brucianti per fare varie cose etc..
+Rulof Maker ...led 500w?

I would have like to see the difference in beam throw and flood using the lens adjustments!
Very nice Video!
*Hi Rulof, can io ask something please.* WOW thats really cool. Might try that. Would it project images from slides as well? or would the transparency just melt please? ... Im going to check through my old camera gear EEEEEeee!
Whoa, your videos are sick ! I want you in my team in case of zombie apocalypse !
Hello, have you tried making a laser burner with an old camera too, I wish I knew the result. Thanks
Awesome video as usual Rulof! I want to do something like this when I find the time! Haha
Hi Rulow Maker, Nice video, really appreciate your work. Did the music is an orginial composition from you ?
I like how you're doing ... recycle old things and not pursue a perfection: D Bravo Bravo Bravo
_So we can glue in place a button in place_
very cool project. Thanks for the inspiration, I will try something like that with one of my broken polaroids
when you tesed the torch did it melt the falling snow?
looks like a ghostbusters prop haha very cool!
Your hot glue gun had me dying 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your a Genius where did you learn how to do all of that
Arjanit Marku just experiment and have creativity
great idea! I might try that too!
I'd like to see a comparison between this beast and a LED Lenser X21 LED torch.
grande rulof, anche coi video in inglese spacchi il culo a tutti!! Bel progetto.

the power of this and the optic is really great, but you should to improve the battery holder :-o
How long does the battery last and what camera model you choose for the project?
Nice project, but wat's the light on car at 7:45 ? WOW!
Three led light bars..reckon their 500 watt units to give that much lumens brightness and for good industrial work at night where lighting is none existant.
Very nice rulof
Bravo Rulof
Awesome project!
These vids are amazing
brilliant idea... try to make a projector out of it
Complimenti . Sei italiano vero?
Si il suo canale principale è rulof fai da te
haters gonna hate, I like it! and thanks for sharing your ideas
nice work there
Rulof Maker
I got a sigma SLR SA7 does that camera work to or not
Where did you find that camera i love that style they have but cant find them anywhere
thanks soooo much
zorki 4
Великолепно!Пойду свой "Зенит" в прожектор переделаю!... =)))
Its all a bit of good clean fun, would never had thought of that lol
How did you make your spinning table thing.
Now do it with a 100w led, i realy like to see what you gonna do :D
you could be brothers with the guy on man v.s food ahahaha
The screw thread on that old banger isn't 1/4 inch. It's 3/8 inch is i'm not mistaken :D
Nice... but... you are loosing light there... the standard lens looses about 5 stops of light... that means the light is 5 times less powerfull going out of that lens
So LED will burn out in a freezing cold environment?
+Sifaka 70 celsius
I found this video after having just finished converting an old bicycle lamp into a movie camera!
Cool idea.
a zorki 4! i use one of those all the time to take pictures, with film.. interesting technique anyway :)
tell me the background music name or the version because i think that it's for passenger let it her go but wich remiw i don't know you know so tell me if you can ( ithnik that you can )
Holy 💩 that's bright!!
That amount of thermal paste is not "too much" - it's much more than "too much" :D
using too much thermal compound can actually make heat conductivity worse...
You need more thermal paste!
sad history😢😢😢
because it's py favorite camera! The Zorki 4
5:32 power 12 > 74 volt. new chip led 500 w
You simply waste light power of led using those lens. F 1:4 is causing at least 4 times less light passing through it. Why don't you use regular single glass lens?
how much for a bucket of thermal paste?
Now you only need anti aircraft gun ,since you made spotlight and you are ready to defend against air raids !
Oh make siren too!

just saw the video you are talking about! very cool!
Nighthawkinlight?
jester jake Thanks for mentioning his name, I'll watch his video as well, for more ideas.
If you put a small LCD inside you get a mini projector
very nice light
Can I buy that from you?
Is the song in the beginning JJ- Ecstacy?
I'm pretty sure it's an instrumental version of lollipop by lil wayne
indiesthlm link of the music in the info

perfectttttt future cars ligthing technology
Too much thermal paste even works as an thermal insulator. It only should cover small dents and scratches.
i though the max operating temp was 120 c as it said on the spec sheet.
seens like alien technology...cool idea:-)
uhhh they dont make 500 watt LED's. that 50 watt is the same size as a 100 watt (strongest) they are just tightly spaced on the board.
your led part is dimmable ?
Зоркий 4? Откуда он у Вас?
That Hot-Glue Skills XD
Very Nice!!
Ooooooh so that's how the aliens get their lights so bright mmmm
Great project..but i though eveything would fit in the body to make it still look like a camera but in truth everything is nearly bolted on extera but great project.

Man that is awesome
What kind a camera do you use?
Zorkiy 4
Grande, bravo
What camera was that?
a broken ZORKI 4 Russian Leica M39
Rulof Maker I love rassian
Rulof Maker Are you crazy! Leica cameras are still worth alot broken
Awsomes141 Its a russian knockoff they're worth no more than $50 working
why picture says 500w and we have 50w led. you could put 10000 candles as a primary picture.
what kind of camera is this
I'm gonna sue Rulof. I did this project, and when I went outside to test it, an airplane landed in my house.

***** Yes. That 50W LED has the same lumen output as a 500W incandescent.
Where did you get the led
+iiSE4NZz
ebay I guess.
ha-ha-ha, this is an old russian camera "Zorkiy" (Зорький)/ That's mean "sharp-sighted" =) Lol where did you get it?
I think I will stick with my 1000 watt diving lantern... even though it only lasts for 30 mins before it needs recharging ;)
wapted soon i will upload a homemade diving lantern.. very interesting,,,
Rulof Maker heyy rulof ciaoooo
Rulof Di Dove Sei ????
Giampiero Baggi torino
Grazie rulof !!! In ultima domanda... Da dove li prendi tutti question progetti???sono idee tue ???
Love it.
I want to mount this shit on a Quadcopter with a gimball and make a FREAKING AWESOME search light!!!!!!!!!
beautyful idea! And always watch the skies! 😂😂😂
haven't seen snow since a Long time
this make a nice Old filmprojector
bella idea! ma fossi stato te non avrei sprecato un 70/300 in quel modo
imagine what the snowplowdriver are thinking after passing the crazy guy with the flashlight?
Бедный Зоркий ...
Cool!
not 500w, thats a 50W led
Why color is blue?
Impressive
