I'm torn between this and Sideshow version. This one probably is much more detailed compared to the other as usual, but i like the pose and face of the other one more i think. Wish that one was released right about now also.
Nice review as always👏, and in my opinion this statue is exceptional! Possibly one of the greatest renditions of the character on any scale piece. Now, I do love some of Sideshow's 1/4 scale X-men and I think they did a heck of a job on their Gambit, but they don't wanna compare with piece. A++ to XM Studios for their overall production with this piece and once the energy arc is corrected... "please" there is no contest. Must have for any Gambit fan and thankfully for many the ES is 800.👍
I love how this looks, bright colors and a super cool pose. The one problem is... I mainly collect female characters. I don't normally purchase male characters.

Yeah, I think the base looks good. Sometimes the mere fact that it is different (for better or worse) is enough to make fans angry...understandable when the first time you see the changes is when the statue is in hand! Thanks for watching!

Initially I thought that the Sideshow Gambit was the clear winner, I don't believe that to be the case anymore. I really like the pose and silhouette. The smaller footprint is also a plus to conserve shelf space. ;) I'm all about the vibrant colours, so the base looks great to me. I'd definitely go with the energy arc look.

I just got mine today, pretty disappointed actually. My entire base wobbles, the long sentinel wire doesn't fit into the slot the way it should (the shape of the peg doesn't align anywhere close to the cutout's shape), and I can't attach either belt. The pin for the left attachment point is too deep for the corresponding pinhole on the torso (or the pinhole is too shallow), and the peg on right is too big to fit in the cutout on the torso. I was expecting better since I have Dark Phoenix. Meh.
This gambit has the face of actor Seann William Scott (American Pie), wouldn't it be a perfect Gambit for the MCU? And in the case of not wanting to, wouldn't they put Jared Padalecki playing this role?
Funny enough XM announced they will fix the arc and send out new copies to collectors who's purchased it, so it's a win all around. Now to watch this review, extremely excited I've been waiting for this and thanks for posting this review so quickly! Because of the SS version, the portrait and pose really bothers me. The folds on the face looks like he is Lance Henricksen or Steven Tyler. He is like prancing around because of the left leg raised. With that, I finally decided not to get my pre-order and forego my deposit. I just hope the SS version will not be hounded with QC problems.

How sure are you that I can make a profit by selling it in ebay? How many statues are there that assures you a profit when flipping it? You will be lucky if you get a break even not to mention the hassles in dealing with unreasonable buyers. The way things are Gambit will not command a higher price in the aftermarket. If you are a collector, you know most XM pieces never appreciate in value. Stupidity is formulating a retort without using sufficient amount of brain cells and analyzing the circumstances.
I think this Gambit looks too slim anatomically. His face, his body, he's a bit too skinny. It's a beautiful piece. Rich in details. I'm just not a fan of the pose. And the energy arch doesn't seem to flow well with the dynamic pose. Good on XM for addressing the issue. Great review.

Well, prancing is one way to look at it, lol I don't think you can go wrong with either Gambit, so it's win-win for X-Men collectors.
