    I have seen Led Zeppelin "live" several times in the 70's and they had to do tours because few radio stations played their tracks. This was due to the content of their lyrics and the length of their songs. The demons we all encounter are handled by some better than others and drugs and alcohol was a scourge on our entire society in the 70's. When they lost John it was just too much to continue. I for one am greatful that they produced so much amazing music and will always be the GOATS.

    Thank you!! It would have be criminal if this final part hadn’t been unblocked! I own this and have watched many times but today I heard a sadness in Robert during “Stairway…” that I never picked up on before, just have to wonder if thoughts of those personal losses in his life were the reason, RIP Karac, John and Ahmet.

    • @helenespaulding7562
      @helenespaulding7562 Рік тому +3

      I think he changed the lyrics too. I heard him say “our stairway lies on the whispering wind” ….instead of “your” And yes, there was a wistfulness there….perhaps realizing it would be the last time he would ever perform it. That song, for Robert, was both a triumph and an albatross around his neck, but it sure must have brought back so many memories of days long gone while he sang it.

    • @betseyr.9081
      @betseyr.9081 Рік тому +2

      @@helenespaulding7562 He also shouted out after, "Ahmet, I did it” (wonder if that was Ahmet’s favorite LZ song?). I know a lot of people think Robert got tears in his eyes when this song was preformed at the Kennedy Center years ago because of the production etc. (and no doubt that Ann sung it so well), but I remember reading a statement by Robert after that he was overwhelmed with memories of John while seeing Jason on stage behind his dad’s drum kit. I think that may have been similar to what he felt having to get through the song on this occasion. And I heard that lyric change as well this time, Wayne listens so well, I knew I had to do the same in his presence (so to speak).

    Selfishly I would have loved for them to tour but, Robert was in a different place and didn’t want to. However, this is how you go out. An amazing final concert that was 🔥🔥🔥. Led Zeppelin forever. ♥️

    8:01 is my favorite shot from the video man. After everything and all of it, here are Page and Plant standing onstage bringing Stairway home and they share a look that says "can you believe it?"

    Zeppelin toured every 2 years, if I'm not mistaken. And I've read that all of them, at different times, got weary of the touring. I think the length of their concerts was a huge factor. Sometimes a show would be 4 hours. And sometimes, if it was New York or LA, they would play like 3 nights in a row.

    • @deanbriss2
      @deanbriss2 Рік тому +1

      You are mistaken, the only time they really to a break from touring was to make Physical Graffiti was 1974., 1976 was because of Plant's accident and 1978 was because of Karac.

    Greetings Wayne... I'm sure you don't remember me but I just wanted to say I was one of your very early fans on here. In fact, you did a vlog on "one hit wonders" a couple years ago now and you picked my selection Green Eyed Lady from Sugar Loaf but after you played it someone pointed out they had another hit called "Don't call us". Its nice to see you still doing your excellent reactions!

    Page played about as well as he did on heroin and I’m good with that. Wish they would have done this in the 90s when page was playing near 75 level and plant singing on Key. Great show either way also wished they had an acoustic section

    Bonzo didn't really like touring that much he was more into his family his ranch and he loves his hot rods he loves his cars You might be right if they didn't tour that much but you don't know only they know
