Damn right. I see people who treat sweet up and rotten down. This must be exhausting. Treat all with respect.
0:35 leading up COC
0:50 leading down COC
1:10 Ineffective Practices
1:50 treat w respect
2:20 ppl always answer to someone
True leadership is listeningship.
Universal way to lead. Lead from the front, not from the rear.
0:50 lead up is same lead across/lead down COC
1:33 Try & Figure out how u can support them
1:50 Treat ppl with respect
2:25 everyone answers up
It’s just what you do. GO!
This is what we learn through experience, something they don't teach at OCS or Sandhurst or the point or Annapolis, you can't teach it, you have to experience what happens to you as a leader when you don't treat subordinates with respect, then you get it
Love it
Imagine walking up in this in the woods.
True True True 🤔
Check
Roger that !!!
💯

Just posted a thought that the system wouldn't approve of on X. Then remembered having watched a Seal be afraid of making such a comment (i.e. 'cynical'). Then deleted my post on X. :)
That’s a good copy, shipmate.
This practice comes naturally to most autistic people: treating people as individuals, as your equals.
I've heard many people strongly caution against doing this, since a lot of people have gotten fired for treating their "superior" as their equal.
(Correct me if I'm misunderstanding, I haven't read his book.)
If only...
I enjoy Jocko and his insights. But he did not invent this leadership concept. John Maxwell wrote 360 Leader years ago, which also talks about "leading up."
Alpha Male 👑
He kinda overengineered that one. Giving honest feedback is ones duty, it is not leading.
