Lamont, thank you for doing this story about Jennifer Strange, you were very respectful & got all your facts correct. She was the wife of my son's long-time best friend. Her passing was such a shock to all of us. It was such a ridiculously stupid thing for the radio station to do & for them to just say "oh well, she signed a waiver so, we're covered" was the most uncaring, unsympathetic thing they could have ever said. Thank you for bringing this danger to light. RIP Jennifer 🙏🕊🕯 you're missed by many.

For people who are asking how can too much water can kill you: drinking too much water can deplete your electrolytes. The main important electrolytes are sodium and potassium. Too much or too little sodium can cause brain issues such as brain swelling. Too much or too little potassium can cause heart arrhythmias. -Nurse
I work with a gentleman that was disabled. He was fixated on water. At night the water was completely shut off so he would not drink. If he drank lots of water the electrolytes would be all messed up and he would walk like a drunk, talk like a drunk and behave like a drunk. Everything you put in your body needs moderation. If I did not see it, I would have never believed it
I remember when this happened. It shocked me. I did not know a person could die from drinking water. I think about her a lot. Thanks Lamont. She did take care of her children, as stated on her head stone. RIP.~~~~~~Sherry.

Brooke Shields drank too much water several months ago because the weather was so hot. She passed out and was taken to the hospital and luckily survived.
Actually, she DIDN'T die of water toxicity she died from a combo of things. From the National Post this past September: "But almost two months later, a final report from the Tippecanoe County Coroner ruled that Summers’ death was not due to water toxicity. County Coroner Carrie Costello stated that after laboratory tests and analyses and a forensic autopsy, she concluded that Summers died from a combination of heat stroke, alcohol intake and an electrolyte imbalance. The official cause of death was listed as “cerebral edema and herniation with anoxic brain injury due to electrolyte imbalance.”
My sisters friend ran the Boston marathon. Passed out. Bystanders kept feeding her water. She died the same way. What she needed was electrolytes. Gatorade or whatever

It was bad enough they didn’t have a medical professional on hand at the station, but to ignore warnings from medical professionals who called in…that’s just SOOOO negligent. I’m glad they all got fired!
Basically, your body needs to find a place for excess water and it tries hard to prevent the water from flooding directly into your bloodstream, which could be fatal. Since the kidneys have limits, it start diverting water to the brain. It buys a bit more time than having it in your blood, but ultimately, it's still a life-threatening situation. RIP Jennifer
It’s due to the sodium imbalance or hyponatremia. The amount of water in the blood lowers the sodium concentration and water then moves into the cells because they have a higher sodium concentration, causing swelling of the tissues including in the brain.

Years ago I had a neighbor who had water intoxication. I thought he was kidding but it is a real thing. What a waste of a life.😢 I feel for the children she left behind.
Surprising for sure! Most of us know the consequence of over-drinking water. Personally, I was given a 30% chance of survival following a surgeon 'cutting my intestines by mistake' leaving me in a coma / ileostomy / many surgeries. I was told "these things happen" and never received ANY compensation. Had this happened in the United States, I would likely be rich, lol. (RIP to Jennifer)
Remember the old saying, “it’s not worth the paper it’s written on”. Posted warnings and signed documents are often used to dissuade claims or in this case, lawsuits. In that regard, they often work.
I remember this story. I heard in the report at that time that this woman, on realizing what she had done to herself, was desperate to reverse the damage but it was already too late.
Oh! As a 10 year old girl growing up in the mid 2000s when this happened, I heard many stories about this poor woman. I remember hearing about this story. Poor Jennifer. The inside of Her Body was Abu$e all because of a contest. The Radio DJs should have been charged with MS.
Why should they be charged with anything? If she was dumb enough to do something that ridiculous, the fault and blame lies with her. Would you jump of a bridge just to win a video game or concert tickets? No different here. It doesn't take an educated person to know that drinking that much water and then holding your urine for that length of time is harmful to the body. Common sense is, obviously, not so common nowadays.
I remember when this happened. This was before my healthcare worker days & I was shook that water can poison you. The simplest way to explain it is your blood chemistry gets thrown off & your body can’t filter out the extra water. If you’re not being active, that water literally pools in your body. I feel bad for patients on fluid restrictions because they don’t realize how easy water intoxication can happen & often ignore us. It’s hard to control when they are not supervised.
It's the old saying, "Too much of a good thing...". The body wants to be in balance (homeostasis). Too little water, cells essentially shrivel up and the body is negatively effected (dehydration). Too much water and the cells swell and body us negatively effected (water poisoning). Just like Goldilocks it needs to be just right...
We were always told to keep hydrated in The British Army, but to over hydrate is fatal!! Never saw anyone over hydrate in the Army, but I now work in a prison and ive seen several inmates go to hospital due to trying to flush drugs through their system. It's known as "flushing" or "tanking up." The best thing being they'll still fail the mandatory drugs test as neat water coming out instead of urine is classed as a dilution.
That radio host Patricia sweet came to Orlando and worked with the morning show on XL1067. She changed her name to Jade Donovan. And they had the Johnny and Jade show. After all that happened in California

😮😮😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😢😢😢😢omg glad you are ok 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I wasn’t aware of this either. What a waste of a young and beautiful life. I hope her husband and children have survived this without too much trauma.
If I remember correctly, a similar situation happened in Indianapolis Indiana.
Remember the old saying, “it’s not worth the paper it’s written on”. Posted warnings and signed documents are often used to dissuade claims or in this case, lawsuits. In that regard, they often work.
Thank you for your respectful coverage of this tragedy. ❤️
I remember this story. I heard in the report at that time that this woman, on realizing what she had done to herself, was desperate to reverse the damage but it was already too late.
What a sad story RIP Jennifer 🎉
I remember this and I was also shocked that this could happen. Thank you for sharing her story.
Thank u Lamont. That was great. U tell a great story and love ur voice.
Oh! As a 10 year old girl growing up in the mid 2000s when this happened, I heard many stories about this poor woman. I remember hearing about this story. Poor Jennifer. The inside of Her Body was Abu$e all because of a contest. The Radio DJs should have been charged with MS.
No they shouldn't have 🤦
What a terrible thing to happen to her I wish this never happened to her Rip to you it wasn't worth it to lose your life Bless you❤❤❤
As a 2000s growing up in a year girl 10 I can confirm this
One of the DJs, Adam Cox, is Lori Vallow Daybell's brother.
Ur a real albert einstein
@w.e.s. It's 8th grade science, so I guess that tells us everything we need to know about you now, doesn't it 🤣
@@w.e.s. But, they're absolutely correct!!!
It started with "Hold your Pee for a Wee" it turned into "Die for 16.5 million dollars"
I remember this sad incident well and reading about it in the newspaper. Thank you for revisiting her story.
Thank you Lamont first I have heard of this. Poor girl so sad.
This story has always fascinated me, glad to see it covered on the channel. Jennifer and I shared a birthday
how did they know that she knew it was dangerous....if they knew that she knew, that means they also knew
Lamont, thank you for sharing these people’s stories.
Wow! This is shocking 😢 thank you for your time Lamonte ❤
HORRIBLE!!!! For a LOUSY GAME!!!! GLAD THE STATION WAS SUED!!!! Stay SAFE Lamont!!!!
this happened to a bunch of young girls taking the drug ecstasy, heart attacks, due to drinking too much water, electrolytes unbalanced
Love your channel, Lamont. Greetings from the Pacific Islands 🌺
That was really enlightening to me , Thanks Lamont
Sad her tombstone hasn’t even been visited 🙏🏼
That radio host Patricia sweet came to Orlando and worked with the morning show on XL1067. She changed her name to Jade Donovan. And they had the Johnny and Jade show. After all that happened in California
Thanks Lamont may Jennifer rest in peace. So very sad that young woman and her family.
Oh my gosh you are at the cemetery near my house! Can you do another video here again!!?? I want to meet you and get you’re autograph!! I watch lots and lots of you’re videos!
That's Mount Vernon Cemetery on Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks. I've got family and friends resting there.
I missed you ... 😊. You were in SacTown... So glad you were here. Yes I remember that. So Sad!!

I worked as a Licensed Mental Health Professional at a State Mental Institution years ago where many individuals were on a separate floor of the Institution all being treated for water addiction. They would drink only water just to get a high, so the staff removed all the sinks and urinals on that floor so they could not drink out of them. Honestly, I'm not sure if today they have such floors, but it did awaken me to this unbelievable Mental Challenge. Thanks again Lamont, and God Bless, be safe and stay strong.
I’m an RN and we studied osmosis it’s a well known fact that this will happen.
When somebody warns you, adhere! They aren't warning you for just the fun. There is a reason they are warning you! ⚠️
Thanks for sharing this video Lamont. I,ve seen a video on drinking yourself to death. May Jennifer rest in peace!❤😢
I remember listening to this on the radio. That’s crazy RIP
Only you Lamont can tell this kind of story.thank you my friend 🧡😊.
Wow. My mother has been telling me forever that you can die from drinking too much water. Thanks for bringing this to light. I'm sure you're saving some lives.
Your mom is a smart woman.
That hotdog contest should be banned also. 😮
Nah my fat cuz always competes
The hotdog 🌭 Chinese dude sat in a interview that now days he doesn't have any taste when eating food 🥝...cuz of the eating abuse ...
Hold your Wee for a Wii....what a stupid concept..and she lost her life over it.
I remember this like yesterday when it was all over the news.
That's crazy. You would think drinking water is healthy 😮
I never realized that DJ was Lori Vallow’s brother. I was trying to figure out why he looked so familiar in photos popping up in this video. Crazy
