Does this mean once you're using Entra, any previously used username and passwords for other applications will no longer be valid? So, in the case of a data breach of an application (not Entra ID) and credentials are stolen, will they no longer be able to access the application from the hosted login page? In other words, what happens to all the original usernames and passwords that were needed for the variety for all the other apps?
Right. A user can have a password for an app but SSO will override the login process. Each user will still require a user/record within an app but the password may not require updating after the initial setup. Iv set access but i never gave the user’s their passwords because SSO prompt ..override.
Great video! If I have this scenario: a particular Web system that use Data Lakes, Databricks, and I want to allow log in using microsoft entra ID. Can I use the permissions of the users/groups for the connections to azure data lakes for example? Have you got any information about this? Thanks in advance.
Would love to start using it but until Microsoft starts strong arming companies to not get SSO behind high teir packages we won't ever be able to use it.
Very nice video. This can get quite complicated very quickly. Any good planning-documentation for best practices when designing solutions for larger enterprises?
Microsoft Entra is the service that Microsoft 365 admin center's identity management controls run on. It's a subset of the controls that you would commonly use and the rest are in Microsoft Entra.
@@MSFTMechanics so the powerhouse (entra ID) helps you go in depth with configurations while admin center is good for getting the quick and easy job done ?
@martiniproductions185 that's a fair way to think of it. The daily tasks are in Microsoft 365 admin center. There are certain controls like Conditional Access policies to configure MFA where you need to use Microsoft Entra, but as a small business the Microsoft 365 should have coverage for most identity related things - users, groups, licensing, password reset, etc.
Using this to help study for the AZ-104 exam.
Thanks
Have you done it? Doing SC-900 kinda nervous
@olis790 yep I failed my first attempt by 13 points but passed the AZ-104 on the second try.
This was my first cert so I'm not sure about SC-900.
@@pt_trainer9244 congrats, yeah it’s a good thing you can retake the exam. There’s a lot of information to take in

Thank you! Concise, and informative! BTW Bellvue is the name of the psych hospital in New York...not sure if that one was on purpose or not lol.
Bellevue is a city in WA where Microsoft has offices.
