In last Sunday’s video we faced another set back with our dog Charlie’s surgery. We’re pressing on and picking up where we left off with the RV renovation to give him time to heal. There were lots of ups and downs as we started the adventure of building our very own TINY HOME on wheels but no matter what, we’re in it together!

How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the van life, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid tiny house that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future.

Gradually getting addicted to you two creative nomads and your fur babies. I’m doing the same, two years now glamping in New Zealand freewheeling wherever I want, me and my gorgeous cat and largely retired from stress. But stress still comes in small spasms, there’s always some annoying issue each week in an RV and another dreaded expense. But you have created an intimate enveloping cocoon, in way that a house never is. There are lovely layers of authenticity and interaction in your postings. Don’t ever change that ! It’s addictive because it’s not a travelogue. It’s a compelling visual diary of the four of you.
So incredibly kind of you to say Scott...we’re hoping to visit NZ someday soon and see what life is like down there! We hear you on the stress, it’s always there but different in a tiny space. Thanks again for the kind words and love 💛

I love how you always lift each other up in trying times! After all of the years of being together, how do you keep the love and spark between you both so amazing?
Honestly, I think at its core we’re best friends first. After 10 years the initial passion has obviously worn off but it’s been with replaced with something different and much deeper. I don’t know if that makes any sense??

Tyler and Todd Douglas and I have totally experienced the same thing in our 14 years together. Friendship is much more sustainable and gratifying than the initial passion.
@@tylerandtodd So true. The initial infatuation is replaced with deep and abiding love, support, and caring. So nice your still there after 10 years. The first 7 are breaking lose from your completely different backgrounds and mindsets you accumulated growing up. Little by little you give in to accommodate the other...why? Because you love them. Finally one day you realize you would do anything to keep and love them. Living without them is unthinkable.
I’ve been going back and watching these videos amd HOLLY They have changed so much! So happy to see them become their true selves and become so happy

I’ve always kept a written diary of my RV travels...how technology as changed that. What a great way to chronicle your adventures. RV couples are hard to come by...let me if ever TEXAS way. Continue to be strong in your travels!!
Hi Carl! Totally agree with you...it’s going to be so good to look back on when we’re older. We’re actually thinking of starting to keep a diary as well. As you can imagine, so much happens in a run of a week so it would be nice to have a more detailed memory for us!
Wow! It’s the first time 42 years that I’ve heard about another dog eating bread dough. My dachshund ate rising bread dough when we went to run errands and when we got home his stomach was like a watermelon. My mom gave him a whole bunch of laxatives and locked him in the basement overnight. When I woke up, I ran down to the basement to find one happy dog and a couple of dozen 💩 piles that had all risen! We didn’t have
🍞 🥖 machines in 1979, so my mom put the bread dough in a stainless steel bowl, covered it with a towel and placed it on the floor near a heat vent. So glad that your 🦮 is okay.

It's fun watching your old videos. I can feel that you were still tense from rat race life and you feel super gutted at setbacks, but now you're so much more free! You still seem happy and loving in these videos but there's an extra glean of contentment and purpose now (even when you're dealing with shitty setbacks). I'm so sorry about Charlie, I can't imagine. My friend fed his little dog turkey with bones at Thanksgiving and we had emergency surgery as well to get the bones out. It was a mess. OMG! So happy Charlie is going to be OK. Duane and I had a similar issue with our Scottie Virginia Woof eating a dried up star fish we had just purchased at a second hand shop and when we arrived home that evening she had diarrhea all over our rental apartment and all over our westie Milou. We rushed her to a 24 hour hospital in the middle of the night in an open garbage bag as she was still having diarrhea and thank god she was all right.....We spent the next day trying to get the apartment cleaned up to show it to a prospective sublet tenant as we had just bought our new house to turn it into our Le Roy d'Carreau Guest House in Montreal. What an experience! Virginia Woof was the first of our 7 adopted scotties over a 28 year period.....
Now I’m hooked and starting from the beginning. I am so happy that your fur baby is well

Haha yeah it took even more time in Kelowna to get it fixed but the repair crew was amazing! Banff truly is unlike any place we’ve ever been...so magical! Glad you enjoyed the video 💛

@@tylerandtodd Its so funny because in the video where you talk about having a breakdown and realising your working for a corporation and you felt stifled, I've been in that stage for around a year now and work has become such a chore and as you say it sucks your soul and that's not how life should be. So I'm happy to see that you guys have taken the leap and that change can be a great thing.

I haven’t watched it all yet but I had to tell you my husband washed our keys WITH the fob. It never worked again.
Stabilizers; they need to be sprayed with a lubricant often. Also know you can’t level the trailer with the stabilizers, which people often try to do, it will break them.
I have had every kind of RV, I have been RVing since the 70’s. There is a lot to learn.
Black tank; dump a bag of ice in the tank and they will help clean the tank while driving.
Replaced the battery and it worked like a charm! As for the landing gears, it was completely shredded and needed a full replacement...the ice trick worked as well, the things you learn on the road! Hope you enjoyed this weeks video 🤗

I am so glad I got to see this video because I got to see a bit of Lake Louise. 63 years ago I was there on vacation with my parents. It was so beautiful there. I never forgot it. I also remember going on the ski lift. My father was petrified. We joked that because he gripped the bar so tightly, that his fingerprints will stay on there forever. Perhaps you might have noticed them. ( :
We absolutely love Lake Louise! Definitely loved the colour! We didn't see the finger prints, but maybe we were in a different chair lift.😂
