I purchased $43,000 worth of ASIC miners for the warehouse.

So I ordered FOUR S19j Pros instead to go with the L3++’s! One of them has already arrived and that pushed me into phase II of this plan: Infrastructure!

Bitcoin miners, and specifically S19’s are POWER HUNGRY little blockchain hashers. Each one will drink up 3,100 watts and will require a 200-240v plug. I got four of them, which means not only am I going to be divvying up over 12,000 watts of power - Ive also got to mitigate over 12,000 watts of HEAT they pump out after validating all of your transactions your welcome.
I thought that because all of the breakers in my warehouse electrical panel added up to 300amps that I had that much power available to me. I was wrong; I made my way over to the main breaker at the front of this facility to find a disappointing 100amp fuse at the start of the line. Luckily these DO run at 240v so that means I top out at 19,200 watts if Im observing the 80% load rule, so I have room for expansion.. And.. you know.. Like.. lights, internet, a microwave, mini fridge and whatever other comforts one tends to enjoy at their office. Im sure a panel upgrade is in the not too distant future. But first comes dealing with all of this heat!
What I’ve come up with is an 8 foot by 8 foot room built into the back of the warehouse around the rear door. I was trying to think of a way to dump heat without having to cut a giant hole in the side of the building - I imagine the building owner wont be on board with that. So what I came up with was a trip to the Home Depot to buy a replacement steel door for my rear door - then I cut a giant hole in said door and fitted a 4500 CFM exhaust fan and bolted it right into the center of that door.
I picked up a couple bottles of expanding foam and some gorilla tape, and sealed that thing up, and now the hurricane room is complete.
An 8*8*8 room is 512 square feet, some quick math has that fan completely replacing the air in that space every 6 seconds or so, which SHOULD mean that there will always be cool side and a hot side of this little room, and these things should stay well within operating temperature, while breathing only freshly filtered warehouse air. mmmm the best air.
I built a simple little slot so I can swap out the air filters very easily, however often they get dirty. Which I guess will change depending on how much activity I have going on in the warehouse in general.
CURRENTLY Im all set on electrical, but Im already using every outlet I have available, which was a Smorgasbord of L6 20r, L6-30r, a 6-50p big boy and a 4 blade L14-20.. The people who had this place before me sure had a variety of plug needs.. And I got a new education on 208-240 volt power adapters. I think this weekend Im going to take a stab at putting in my own line from the panel, so I dont have to run this 75 foot l6-30p extension cable to the hurricane room.
The profitability changes day to day, but I think itll be a nice thing to look back at a few years from now, to see what these fellas are earning. So, until next week when the rest of my equipment arrives, right now I have one S19j Pro, one L3+ and five RTX 3080 GPUs running, which are earning a total of $73 per day. And with three MORE S19’s and 2 more L3’s in the mail and on the way, we can extrapolate that to 181 dollars per day, 5450 dollars per month or 65,400 annually that I should be pulling in from my Mine/Farm as of Monday evening (mind explosion).
Of COURSE those numbers wont stay the same for an entire year. Difficulty will go up, which makes them earn less, but the price of Bitcoin and Ether could easily go up along with it, which can make them earn more! (I mine Litecoin and Doge with the L3’s but Im converting it to Bitcoin because of fear..)
Its funny because even though this is going to earn about as much as working a full time job, I can only house it for as long as I DONT quit my job, part of which gives me this amazing warehouse - theres a funny little catch 22, if youre into that sort of thing.

would you recommend using those ice boxes (coolers) for reducing the sound of S19J Pro? mine is arriving soon and i haven't figured out what I should do about the noise yet. . .an advice would be appreciated
@@mapuia300 i haven’t done anything yet to try to quiet these down, but I will be immersion cooling them in a couple of weeks which will make them silent.
I don’t have any experience with those ice boxes so I can’t really speak to that

for that amount of money, and those space needs, you can buy a small yard shed and fit that. there is more square footage, but its your building. so you can do what you want with it.
also, cargo containers are relitivly cheap and relitively cheap to ship. so those could be used aswell if you have the space for one.
Hey its me again. I really do appreciate your video and it is really helpful. I have a quick questions. First, if the exhaust fan keep sucking air from the warehouse, did you have to remain the door open all time for the air intake? Wasn't the noise level somewhat bothersome for your neighboring companies who are using the same warehouse or is it only you who is renting the whole warehouse?
Although these machines are pretty loud, a room built of insulation probably does a pretty decent job of muffling the white noise they produce. Also, it looks like the room is in the far corner of the warehouse so it is probably pretty quiet. In my experience, it is pretty amazing how unsealed building are, especially if you are in a temperate environment. The intake air required to keep up with that small exhaust fan is probably supplied well enough via all the little gaps in the construction of the warehouse. Door gaps mostly. He will probably sense a small amount of incoming pressure when coming and going through external doors. Nothing to worry about.

I am assuming the revenue numbers you are giving are exactly that, revenue? Will you be getting into your electrical costs and how much that bites into your revenue?
Love the videos, very inspiring! Got some small miners on the way, may have to build a room like you did. Minor correction, 8*8*8 is 512 cubic feet, not square. But your calculations for the air exchange are still good since that's in cfm.

When do you get your miners in??! Exciting. I, too, am looking at miners through Alibaba. Would you be willing to share the seller's name by chance? I want to avoid falling into the hands of the wrong seller that ends up scamming people.

How has this held up over time? In my experience...keeping a cool side and hot side, is difficult. Even with the math, real life versus paper life, variables don't get accounted for initially and change the outcome. I work on miners daily, on alot larger scale(more heat and airflow)
I agree about the paper math; I am, in fact, an engineer!! But in this case it held up and worked out.. The exhaust fan is sufficient to clear all the hot air created by the miners and more. Even in the summer in florida my little mine is working out.

How do you convert your DOGE and LTC? What do you use and how often do you swap it?
So I have those L3’s running on NiceHash just so I don’t have to pay any attention to them. It sets it up where you’re just renting time on your machines and you get paid out in BTC.
It causes them to make like 1-2% less but that’s hardly a big deal for the ease of use!

I used this really strange recycled material that was made from milk cartons. But there’s no reason not to use plywood, normally.
Great vid, love your channel - question: I just ordered an S19JPro - single unit. It will sit in a room, that is 10x10x8 and I'm looking to put a fan in that is 1600 cfm. That means the air will be replaced every 30 seconds. Do you think this is enough? This is in a basement where the ambient temps are already cooler.
Yep that will be enough air movement, just make sure theres some way for fresh air to make its way into the room if youre exhausting air out of the room..

I attempted to! They had me fill out a thing to get an account and asked for verification where I was uploading an ID and everything and their automated system just wouldn’t accept it.
I wrote in to them and they never responded. So I took advantage of the last days of alibaba before the ban

That’s correct. But a HUGE filtered opening so there isn’t any negative pressure in the room
electrical is only part of your OPEX... how much are you paying in rent? What about other expenses?
Well my situation is unique. I work for a production company, technically operating out of New York, but I live in Orlando Florida and that’s where our warehouse is. I am the sole overseer of this warehouse. Since all of our work is events, nothing actually takes place at the Space Warehouse! Therefor, I try to use it as a set for UA-cam, and also a project space for things like this mining farm.
So the rent is covered, I’m paying for the electricity and these machines don’t really require much else in the form of upkeep.
I did of course have to shell out for a new door because I cut a hole in it for a fan, and everything to initially set this up. But actually these last few crypto videos have paid me more in ad revenue than any of that cost!
@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE Interesting... but for tax purposes, you can probably claim a percentage of that space's cost to rent as a writeoff against gains. So that could still be seen as OPEX

All the Alibaba stuff has actual tracking numbers and has made it to the united states! Should arrive half on Tuesday and half on Friday of this week.. Total shipping time will have been 14 days. The REAL key is that I ordered ANOTHER one from one of the same companies, but on the side.. So I just sent ETH to an address from a conversation on a WhatsApp number from that same company I used on Alibaba... I give that about a 50% chance of actually arriving, but if it does IM IN!

@@DavidGalan777 Alibaba did up until October 8th, unfortunately. There was a country wide ban on selling equipment in China. So now the hunt is on for a reliable place to send your money where they won’t scam you and it’s terrifying.

I ordered my first bunch from Alibaba, but they’ve banned the sale through there. Im working on a new source right now - once I know they’re good I’ll make a video updating everyone
from witch shop did you purchase the miners? or on what points do you use to determine that the shop is trustworthy?
I bought them on alibaba. Unfortunately, the country of China has since banned the sale of them so now the search starts again for a trusted vendor.

Stocks are mysterious:) Without a peep of bad news, they have dropped 40% in the last month, but nothing has changed in the story for that company and that industry and I am just as hopeful as ever about the future with them.
How much can you hear when outside the room?
That seems like a difficult measure to describe. But the room has a giant opening so the air can get sucked in. So you can hear all of it.

@@MrSkunks no, I don’t think so. However I used to film stuff in there and now I don’t because of the high pitch of the noise.

Love the channel, but struggling with the idea of making the $12,000 investment for a SJ19. The money is there, invested in coins but tired of the uncertainty of the market and having to work the daily 9-5 with no passive income.

it is not even worth it. You get your money back faster with GPUs and you can always sell the GPUs. This machine will take a whole year to make any gains and in time will be totally useless. Do nt buy this crap.

@@FrankieTheOne my math works out differently. It’ll pay itself off in about 10 months (and that’s only if the price doesn’t move, it will probably go up) and once it does pay itself off, the machines are powerful and efficient enough to run another 4 or 5 years. They make about 1 Bitcoin per year.
@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE They site itself says it will take 359 days to make your money back if u bought it at 11k. If you bought it more or less expensive it will be different. ATM this machine only make 30 dollars a day. Or what are ur calculations?
@@FrankieTheOne they make closer to $40 a day on average, it’s changing constantly because the price of Bitcoin is changing constantly.
If Bitcoin goes up to $100,000 early next year, that means every coin I ever mined goes up with it, in which case I’ll break even in half the time.
