We had a German Shepard in our childhood. He was like your Shepards. Obedient, loving, playful and very dangerous to any that came near us, if he didn't know them. Brutus was 185 lbs when he was struck by our school bus. We love him to this day

Ahh ❤❤ we love German shepherds. We’ve had 4, first Gonzo and Bella then Molly and Merlin. Best dogs to protect our family and unconditionally love us. Each one held a special place in our hearts. My heart completely broke when we lost our last Molly.. and can’t bare to get another set with how busy our lives are with lots of travel on planes and our kids are teenagers and grown so it wouldn’t be fair to the pups to not have the consistency of one of the 5 of us being home .. maybe we will get 2 again when our lives . Gonzo was awesome and made sure my friends boyfriends were worthy of them, he would also track the whole group (no matter how many were with us) when we were hiking. . Bella was crazy fun and we lost her too young. Merlin was a lover, so sweet and protector from the squirrels.. lol he also like to chase little white butterflies. Molly was energetic and so sweet . She loved chasing wasps and would always run the perimeter of the yard to patrol. I never had do worry when hiking or at the park with the kids cause the dogs would always get between us and anyone who gave off bad vibes. Best dogs ever. Hugs for your loss, I feel the pain with you ❤
My Arizona retirement chihuahua, Dusty, passed away on April 30, 2023. I miss him every single day. I’m like you, Tina, in deciding not to get another dog, because no dog could compare to my beautiful little long-haired Dusty boy. I’m crying with you. His ashes are in a lovely little carved wooden urn, next to his picture in our living room. Best wishes 🌸
We had 2 German Shepherds, Kiefer and Lorek. They were search and rescue dogs.. Their noses were excellent for finding lost people.. They were also therapy dogs and visited Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Pa weekly. Also nursing homes.. We understand the loyalty of these dogs. We haven’t gotten any other dogs.. Too painful..

I rescued a German Shepherd puppy at 6 months who had been abused. He was gorgeous and he was the best dog ever. Very protective and very loving. ❤️ They are great dogs!

Wow that's a beautiful story you shared!! I know it was so hard to tell us you miss & love them yet!! I start crying talking about my parakeets who died since I moved here to the nursing home. I wouldn't tell people unless they noticed one was gone before I got a new mate. They are my championship here. It hurts to talk about my cats I had to give up when I had to move. Thanks for sharing.

Loved hearing about your pups! I lost my pup last year and like you, I've had a hard time getting another dog. We had her 15 years and she was a blessing. You can never replace a good fur child, but, you can add to your family with another pup when the time is right. Sometimes it takes a while to begin to heal. My heart is still broken from a year ago, so we are still without a pup now.
I had a beautiful German Shepard named Boss man, my dad lived in the country, so he kept him, he stayed out there happily for yrs, till his passing, excellent watch dog

What a heartfelt tribute. What a special pair indeed. We tend to define our lives in parts… school years, children, etc. I think of mine by my dogs. My first dogs as an adult were Bob and Henry. We had so many adventures together. I will never forget them. There’s no replacing pets. You can only give your heart to another.

When you know you know with dogs, we rescued a pit bull mix& a beagle.. people would shy from the pit & go to the other one & they were opposite, the beagle bit the nail man & couldn't be trusted but the pitt was a mush& only wanted love. Hi Tina n Rob👋 Thx 💙 for sharing stories of your beloved Shepherds. We had Shepherds off n on for 40 yrs. I wouldn't have any other dog. I didn't want to get a puppy, I'd done that already. So we rescued them from Blue Ribbon German Shepherd Rescue. They were so loving, empathetic, affection, n brave. Sonny was like a bear, wide n stocky n dark, about 85 lbs. They wanted to b in any rm where the kids were (even though they usually took up half the rm.!) And Charlie, was tall n about 120 lbs n a pussycat when it came to the kids, or us. If I had workmen to the house, they'd always ask if the dogs bite. And I'd always say if I'm happy, then they're happy! Lol. I have such a hole in my heart n miss them everyday. Bur, their memories are a blessing 🙌 ✨️. May the Good Lord bless 🙌 you n yours n keep you safe n well. Amen 🙏 . Much ❤ n 🙏 always. Elly 🇨🇦

I loved this video. We actually raised GSD for 8 years. Arkansas Search & Rescue bought several from us. Eventually bought us out. Our males were around 100 lbs.
I love German Shepherds we had one and she was so good with my daugher and and other family members. Very protective but not an attacker. She would nip at strangers feet, we would bring her in until the service was complete outside. I loved Scooter. Yours were beautiful... It is so sad to lose our fur babies.....
I have had dogs all my life. Just too bad they do not live as long as we do. They are our fur babies. I lost my last one after 14 years since I am older I got a rescue. She has a piece of my heart just like all the others. You can't ask for a better companion.

I have had 2 GSD mix. I lost one ,Bella, 11 years ago. my second I got 4 years ago from my daughter who rescued "Sunshine" from the animal shelter. I would not give anything for the trust and loyalty these 2 dogs have given me. I miss Bella dearly.
We had a white German Shepard I love German Shepard they are perfect family dogs very protective ... Do not need an alarm system for sure. We loved our Shepard very much they don't live a long life because they are bigger dogs ours lived till 8yrs old.
I got a 2 year old German Shepherd. Best dog ever. My husband was in the Navy. His parents were from Missouri but moved to Arizona briefly to run a motel. Had to tie Duke in the alley because there was no place else for him. I went out to bring him in. He was still tied. Decent length of chain. So he could do his business. This drunk fella came up the alley, talking to me. I swear he was so drunk his tongue was swollen. I couldn’t understand him. I hadn’t untied Duke. I didn’t realize I was showing fear but as the guy came closer I remember backing up a bit. Duke let out one loud bark, jumped and landed between me and the man. He didn’t try to get aggressive to him. (Yet). The man backed off, I was able to untie Duke and get inside. Of course husband went flying out the door. But all was well. That was back in the late 1960’s. I’ll never forget.
I've had German Shepherds in my life for 50 years it seems. I can't ever imagine my life without a GSD in it. Her name is Missy and she's about 6 years old now. Her partner is Varian the cat. :) I've said this before, and I do think it's right, a GSD is the most intuitive, family oriented, best dog ever. And I do believe they learn the English Language, or any language that is spoken to them, so well. It's like they are attuned to our spirit. Thanks for sharing your story xoxo Nancy
I loved your tribute to your two beautiful German Shepherds. I also had two wonderful GS females, Star and Zora, two wonderful Bull mastiff’s, Klohe and Sadie and a wonderful Rottweiler, Gretchen. Each breed has so many unique qualities and personalities and I am so glad that I have been able to love and be loved by each of these wonderful big girls!

I've had German Shepherds in my life for 50 years it seems. I can't ever imagine my life without a GSD in it. Her name is Missy and she's about 6 years old now. Her partner is Varian the cat. :) I've said this before, and I do think it's right, a GSD is the most intuitive, family oriented, best dog ever. And I do believe they learn the English Language, or any language that is spoken to them, so well. It's like they are attuned to our spirit. Thanks for sharing your story xoxo Nancy

I loved your tribute to your two beautiful German Shepherds. I also had two wonderful GS females, Star and Zora, two wonderful Bull mastiff’s, Klohe and Sadie and a wonderful Rottweiler, Gretchen. Each breed has so many unique qualities and personalities and I am so glad that I have been able to love and be loved by each of these wonderful big girls!
Precious memories. My black lab past 20 years ago and still brings tears when I think of her.
