Good on you for getting a simpler one to the shameful product advertised by the Tevaplanter company from Kickstarter. They took people’s money and never delivered on their product.
I just transferred an orchid I’ve had for years to one of these. I noticed today that some of my newer roots were drying at the very top of the root where it connects to the plant, also seeing some mold-like givers starting to grow on other roots. I had removed all the moss from the roots before attaching, is that where my issue is? Should add moss some that moisture spreads out better to the roots until it connects itself to the planter?

It’s hydroponic nutrients added in the water you’re topping up the planter with.
