I’ve been wanting an immersive batman vr game for so long I cannot wait! It’s such a refresher seeing that the VR community actually wants this game as opposed to everyone else. They’re just jealous.
I think us vr players will take anything we can get at the moment haha. We've been promised a lot of stuff and usually we get under delivered or no game at all (San Andreas)

Holy crap, yes! I had reservations as to how they were gonna handle combat, but the system he describes here sounds absolutely perfect. I am so pumped to see this game come out!
That's why I'm here. I was nervous about how they were going to approach combat and someone pointed me here.
I just finished today Iron Man VR on Meta Quest 3! And I can tell you, what an amazing game this is! And play even better, you really feels like Iron Man flying and shooting enemies.
Can't wait to see what this guys are doing with Batman!
I bought the Iron Man game and it was good but I got bored quick.
@@glennwatson3313 The game was great but the lack of enemy verity really hurt the game, fighting the same five drones over and over got stale.
It might have been a budget issue hopefully this game learns from that mistake.

As soon as Zuck can get AR in to a normal pair of glasses he's gonna drop vr anyway. He won't be able to resist collecting all that data as people go about streaming everything they do all day long.

This is no doubt my most anticipated VR game, EVER. It sounds like they got the combat figured out, but I really hope they give us the gliding and grappling we NEED. That's part of the true Batman experience!

Man, I'm so excited for this game. I've played every Arkham game and love Batman. Knowing we'll be able to see the suit and our shadow as Batman, has me so freakin' excited!!

Him name dropping these amazing games for design influences is giving me huge hype for Gamescom. I really loved the verticality of Assassins Creed Nexus, I hope we get some of that too, I want to look down on the city, dive down and take out goons.

I’m so excited for this game. Never had a vr though, so I’m a little torn between if I should buy a quest 3 to play it. I hope it will go on sale so I can get to play Arkham shadow. It looks so amazing!
Another huge selling point would be if I can play Arkham vr on the quest 3. Sorry I don’t know much about vr and google didn’t really help but if I am able to play both Arkham games then it will make me feel less bad about myself for buying such a an expensive piece of hardware.
I would wait until this fall. There should be a cheaper Quest 3s coming out that will be a cheaper way to get into this game.

I do wish this was multi-platform, including Steam and PSVR2, but thus far that is all I have for complaints. Unlike interviews for SS: Kill The Justice League, you can actively feel the passion that this team has for this IP. I know "nobody asked for this", but like... this is definitely something I've wanted to see for a long time. After Batman: Arkham VR, I thought that was a great baseline to come up with new ideas for a Batman adventure in vr, though I never thought that was going to happen, so for me at least this is a very pleasent surprise. Also, props for referencing Origins Blackgate. Not the best received title, but I do feel like there were a lot of really cool ideas they tried to implement for that title despite the rough edges. I thought Origins was basically never going to be acknowledged again, nevermind Origins Blackgate. Cool stuff, really looking forward to it.
imagine vehicles in VR that control like VTOL VR .... they didnt say anything about the BatWing or the car

Looking forward to it. While I am fond of City and Knight, I've come to realize Arkham Asylum is actually my favorite, BECAUSE of the more intimate setting. So I'm glad to hear that was the bar they aimed for.
Same! Asylum was more linear but the story was fantastic and more personal.
This is an amazing interview. Your questions are great. You work around the things they don't/can't talk about yet. You should your self as a true fan and get into real topics and answers. I wish every other developer interview was at least half as well as this interview. Thank you and I hope you get more opportunities to do interviews like this.
To the people who are mad that this is a vr exclusive, and especially a Meta quest 3 exclusive you have the right to be. But personally I really like this decision. I think a heavy hitting title like this with love behind it can bring a lot of people to vr. This equals more companies willing to spend big money on it. Making the whole vr gaming industry better.
There will be a lot of new VR users willing to get the Quest just to play this game. As he mentioned there is a robust library of other games on the Meta Quest store to keep new people beyond the Batman game or when they just want to take a break from it.
Hopefully, the existing Quest community will treat the newcomers well and help them discover more.

Oh man, can't wait! All sounds great and I love that Ryan mentions they want you to see the world as much as possible. One of my few gripes with the Arkham series was feeling like I had to be in detective vision more then I would have liked. Most hyped I've been for a VR game since RE7!

Really excited to see what they pull off, loved iron man on psvr, and as sad as i am in the doom and gloom psvr2 space (i still have hope and am super excited for all the games coming, wanderer, zombie army vr, alien, behemoth, aces of thunder, etc), but totally willing and looking forward to upgrading my quest 2 in the near future for exclusives like this.

Thanks, Matt! - The first Batman Arkham game was the only game of that series that I loved and actually finished. If they keep to the promise of "keeping it simple stupid" and show the same delivery as that game , I think this will be a HIT! I will buy a Quest 3 - if this is half of what he promised. (an early VR adopter who has not seen the value of upgrading from my Quest 2). Thanks, Again!!!

I am eagerly anticipating the release of the new Arkham Shadow Batman game and plan to purchase it on the first day. Batman has been a favorite of mine since childhood, and I have a deep appreciation for the character. I have a keen interest in whether the game will feature customizable cosmetic options for Batman, a feature that has been present since Arkham Asylum. While the cosmetic options in the previous game were limited to challenge mode, I am hopeful that the new game will offer a broader selection of cosmetic choices for Batman to wear throughout the main story mode.

I Visualized AC: Nexus When He Spoke About The Locomotion And Not Locked In Or Anchored In One Spot.. Damn.
I hope you will still be able to pick your angle(s) of initial attack to try to limit being interrupted by other enemies. I mean it would really suck if you were always interrupted because you had no other options when fighting more than one guy at a time. Spacing, timing and angles (strategy) should always be important when facing multiple attackers.
