I was 11 years old in 2006 when we had to do a school project on our hero. I chose Asafa Powell, I had a big poster and print outs from the newspaper! I’m 29 years old now man time flies. Great to see you Asafa! Subscribing for sure. Take care 🫡

Most Jamaicans technique looks like that, but the toe isn’t touching, I didn’t noticed till my coach in college came over to me and said to me, “is this toe dragging a Jamaican thing” I was confused what he was talking about but he was convinced Jamaicans drags their toe out the blocks, that was back in 2004.lol

Yes, because even Bolt did it. It looks pretty in slow-motion though

I understand exactly what Justin was getting at with entertainment. I was saying this for a long time. Talking trash to each other and acting as if you have beef even if it's fake beef brings more attention to the sport. Jamaican culture is just different from America. They wasnt brought up to seek attention but to be humble. But what Jamaicans got to understand is that their audience in their country can only take them so far. They need a bigger audience if they really want to make the big bucks. Americans like drama and conflict. They love beef. That sells. Can you imagine. Noah and Kishane talked smack to each other to the lead up. Almost get into altercation at a spot. Realize I'm not saying for real. I'm saying it was all planned out. Then Kishane crossed the line first, talking smack to Noah, saying where you were. Kishane is talking more smack at the post race conference saying it's over for Noah now. I'm the King of 100 meters. Get where I'm at . Noah jumps up, ready to fight. They get broken up. Even though it was all planned. People would want to know. More attention. They both make a commercial together, doing things to each to be first. Making money off of fake beef.

no Jamaican runner needs drama to push them, tracks aint even that big in America, basketball is not track and field..they all made there money by running and staying humble enough to get their sponsors.. track is supported by brands not America itself. so they make the moeny through the sports, sponsors and collaborating and participating with other running countries.no drama is needed that only brings bad light on the runners..Jamaica ain't chasing America toxicity when it comes to drama to make money

@876Plug I'm not surprised that a Jamaican would say that. I would bet that because of the beef between Sha'carri and Jamaican sprinters earlier in the years. Jamaican channels are getting more traction from Americans tuning into their channels than ever before. This is what happens when other countries become interested in what other athletes are doing. Before they no one knew nothing about Jamaican sprinters until the World Championship or the Olympics. Sprinters complain about money, they want to believe it's a sport but don't have the understanding that their in the entrainment business. Americans understand that. Jamaicans don't. Bolt somewhat understood, and with him breaking the world records. He was able to cross over. Being toxic and entertaining are two different things. Just know that for me personally, I would never find interest in watching any Jamaican channels or getting to know Jamaican athletes until Sha'carri and the Jamaicans female sprinters started having beef with each other. This made Americans want to find out more about Jamaican sprinters, and now Jamaican channels are benefiting from having more viewers. You see how that works.

@@jarcusmercer6306 dude don’t let anyone see that dumb statement about sha carri drama bring highlights to Jamaican meds, are you alright in the head ? Who was sha carri to Shelly Ann and Elaine, she was a new comer little girl in fact.. Jamaican have never needed no form of drama to be on on big states.. you seems to forget Shelly Ann is the fastest women before then there is Elaine.. have you Been watching the Olympic at all throughout the years.. Jamaica card about fame like Americans we are cultural people with manners, check the history of our biggest entertainers we don’t care about drama highlights, it’s the most visited island in the Caribbean for a reason. We stand out not stand in line with America. Know the difference but you won’t understand it.Jamaicans just want to make their money and be out the drama nonsense you speaking on.dude talking like America is the highest highlight of track and field lol dude we the fastest for reason we start running from as early as basic schools.. nobody cares about getting highlights.. talking bout bolt understood, what drama have you ever seen bolt in? You don’t know Jamaica like that to speak on it.. even while watching this video you haven’t learn a thing

@@jarcusmercer6306 lol last statement of you’re made me laugh.. it’s the sprinters that build their fans base and bring the attraction not your dumb drama about sha carri.. who cares about sha carri, jamaica don’t need Americans to get a views as you can see we are more focus on Caribbean people.. quit think y’all are the center of all attraction..such illiterate statement, conflict can happen in any sport and people look like it, sha carri was in beef with herself..you can go look up 5+ years media nobody was putting media footage for Americans from jamaica. So if it’s 2 million people in jamaica the whole 2 million people support our runnings to get enough views and the rest of the Caribbeans. Media analyst from homes just come on the internet and talk a lot that’s it, anywhere there is rivalry there’s automatically tension, attention don’t draw us in we bring the attention to us by running, your ignorance was showing from the start talking bout it got to be a Jamaica who answered like you expect n American to answer such wild statement

In the early 90s young sprinters used to mimic the Ben Johnson jump start, then in mid 90s n early 2000s everybody ran like Michael Johnson especially quarter milers, nowadays kids do the toe drag, Now what Is gonna be the next trendy technique?

Christian Coleman and Travon Brommell adopted the technique and have 2 of the best starts ever.
