I think the term white privilege arouses a level of defensiveness and anger that prevents the masses ability to understand the nuanced basis of its original meaning. It is a term I feel is a bit callous and too reductive to be frank. I certainly understand that being white will make my life comparatively easier in many environments if compared to a non white person in similar circumstances. But this does not mean that I would always feel or notice something that I’ve never lived without, I would likely assume it’s the same for everyone, or that if not the person must have done something wrong. This would only be apparent to me if my status as a white person were suddenly removed from me. Then normal day to day experiences would suddenly be very different to what I’m used to. But I think that the bulk of a lot of inequality is socio-economic and that this gets conflated with ethnic background a lot of the time. But for sure racial prejudice exists, otherwise why would it be that a less educated white family enjoys the same if not greater income status than the average middle class black family who are university educated. Clearly in that example something is amiss, it’s not the socio economic status or education so it’s reasonable to see that ethnic background plays a role in such instances.

No Name Never once did I say “I hereby kick this person from the black community,” What you just said is funny because the action of a black person is commonly generalized by other races, as they are for whites, hispanics, asians, etc. Especially for minorities, communities are actually established do to ethnic and racial backgrounds. It is the main factor that divides everyone today. Every race has far different historical backgrounds which lead up to now. When a certain race has many people acting in certain ways, generalizations are made for that entire race and in that sense, yes, there is a community. Cultural differences in race shouldn’t be erased like you are suggesting, but people need to be more accepting of other backgrounds. I honestly don’t understand why you attacked that part of my comment because my main point is the exact one you are preaching. That people need to get along. I am not thinking about what every other black person is thinking about either, I gave my own opinion. I don’t see why you believe that a community has to have a hive mind.

How is that White Privilege?
I would love to see this wealthy black lady going around and explain to white homeless people what white privilege is.

Alyssa Snider it’s a disease, I’m convinced of it. There’s a never ending drive and a payoff for these people that is very reminiscent of addicts desiring, acquiring, and consuming the drug of their choice. As soon as we incentivized victimhood we created a generation of addicts who want nothing more than for the world to believe they have been wronged in some way. The difference is at least an addict knows they’re fucked up where as these people believe they hold the moral high ground.
My former black friend ruined our friendship after 12 years and after all I did for her to get her a solid career and get promoted three times. Her excuse was I was racist towards Meghan Markle. She said because they are wealthy, entitled and privileged. So we do not count them as black. I told her she’s being racist for saying that. She got very offended. Adverse racism is a fact and no one can deny it. She used to tell me that all white people to her are racist until it is proven otherwise. For12 years I tried every possible way to change her view and it did not work. Because the entire family had the same mentality. The best thing we can all do here is to make sure we're personally well researched on both sides of these arguments / issues, and that we effectively understand the specific ideas, definitions, and thought processes behind inaccurate assertions with regards to racism / privilege, and that we truly understand and see clearly in what way certain assertions are not accurate, so that we can contribute to educating others practically and speaking practically on these points, remaining objective and grounded in common sense, and not make things personal or go into judgment and spite toward those who are misguided and misinformed. If you judge another for being judgmental, then you are equal to them in judgment and part of the problem.

She is just using racism as a tool to gain popularity with her people

I'm just glad to not live in the us of a and have to endure this nonsense
I am a poor white person, so I technically I don't understand why anyone would say anything about white privilege. If you are a poor white person, how are you privileged?
It gives minorities a built in excuse for failure bc they don’t have your “privilege “
This woman is trying to provoke him and he is just completely owning the situation. Well done Mr. Shapiro 👏
As always!
Frrr
The conversation started because she was addressing something he said about white privilege that could be misconstrued, how would that be provoking him?
@@vro6046 she continued to ask him questions.. hoping to get anything out of him that sounds a LITTLE bit racist.
This is what shapiro does not just about racism about many things peole are being weird about its hilarious xD man just Keeps ok dropping you would say commonsense fact bombs but i guess nowa days most people are idiots?? XD his vids are great the man disses with speeches xD
Using "racist" comments to fight racists comments, is...RACIST!
They use the argument for an oppressed class, offending and discriminating is not prejudice, so there is no reverse racism.
You're using that term "racist" too loosely.
@GravityToy "No POC has fought for equality since MLKJ." That's a pretty bold statement.
@GravityToy Most things are grey, rather than black and white (no pun intended).

Lmaoo have you seen on bbc Ben Shapiro got destroyed
@@Ripkilla1255 hahahaha, yes, he did come off badly in that, but that doesn't devalue his argument. The debate style used by the British is hard to work with unless you have prepared extensively beforehand, in that case, Ben wasn't prepared properly for the different debating style. I'm guessing if he came back now a few months later he would be able to come off infinitely better.
I'd love to tell this "lady" about my experiences as a half Armenian, half Native American, growing up in Los Angeles, and experiencing the worst sort of racism, for several years...ALL of it from blacks, who thought I was white. Of particular note is the time a couple of them wanted to fight me because I was "white", and another one was egging them on, saying "Kick that white boy's ass, nigga!!" And no...not one of them actually knew me at all. "Systemic Racism"? LOL Yeah, sure...I believe in it. It's apparently ingrained into blacks some time shortly after birth, and they carry that hatred and anger with them for the rest of their lives.
Arek Petrosian As a black man, I really don’t understand those in the community who believe that racism doesn’t exist among our community. I constantly find myself ashamed to be in the same community as the type of people you described and believe that in order for everyone to see each other as equals, we must first take a look at our own communities and set examples.
@@obiwankanobi7973 ah yes, the negotiator
No Name Oh ok I gotcha. Yeah I do agree with your point on gatekeeping in that case.👍🏽
U are white tho lmao

You’re right. She didn’t sound smart
She's careful, she's talking to shapiro lol
Nah, ben thinks hes smart and tries to confuse people until they agree. He's awful at debating. Being smart, and relevant art. He can be smart, but t things he says lack any point. I can half the things he says, without sounding like some shmuck trying to sound smart. His vibe instantly provides a sense that he wants to argue. That second someone does that, i don't care about their opinion because respect is the first thing in debating. The title of the video alone proves how ignorant this man child. is.
Demonstrable
‘I didn’t know white privilege fell into that sphere’
The questionable wording of that shows that she spoke before even fully forming the thought and figuring out what she wanted to say.
