hmmm, Seems to be stressful for the pigs; it may be in the sensitive babirusa's interest to separate them. Yes these otters theoretically inhabit Sulawesi, Celebes, Sunda, wherever...but the otters would be swimming about and in their own areas of river. The babirusa would be likely found in deeper foliage and avoiding all detection for their own safety - considering the squealing noises the pigs make each time an otter charges, that's a dead giveaway to any nearby tigers, leopards, etc. So just my two cents. :-) ...however, I've seen interspecies exhibits here in San Diego at our zoo; in fact, many of the animals are displayed successfully together. Some in HUGE herds in fact. They have a Congo/Ituri forest exhibit, with African spot-necked otters, Kikuyu colobus, red colobus, Allen swimming monkeys, & African forest buffalo; I'm pretty sure they had methods of separation...like the buffalo had a thin fencing at the top of the exhibit, so all the monkeys/otters could visit them, but not the other way around.
They have to, they're endangered because of over hunting, now some are illegally selling them as pets, if they have the chips, they will know where it is, who sold it and who bought it.
those otters are stupidly cute and naughty
It’s always nice when animals are good dads. And mother otters are always cute. They’re lovely parents.

It's weird how you have to explain why we should conserve a prey, while conserving predators is so obvious... Because they are cute.

Giant river otters can kill Caimans which are South American crocodiles perhaps these babirusa pigs should be kept in a different enclosure
These are Asian small claw otters, different species
It’s chte how the otters interact with the pigs.
