I would also say #2 "pulls" his hands a little too fast in the beginning of the stroke, instead of having them completely straight for the first few centimeters. Also if you look closely it's not so much that he falls forward but rather that he pushes the oar down a little bit for a "safer" catch.
@@r3kpwner303 Points taken. As a sculler, I often realize that my view of oarsmen tends to be biased by the side (port or starboard) I look at them. Still so much to learn after so many years :-)
