Nice! I'll be watching a lot more of your vids, I'm Rebeccaloran on Asura. I still have a ton to figure out about trusts and still need to collect them all. I basically just kinda threw together a trust team and could be more efficient.

I just came back to the game 5 days ago after 12 years away and I really like the content. I decided to start with a new character even tho I have a character with a few lv 99 jobs. If SE decides to add the option to change the race of your character like FFXIV, I'll hop back to my previous character.
I really like the way that you can progress now. I have all the 6 starting jobs at lv 50 now so I'm working on Missions and LB quests. I like that you can do stuff solo now with Trusts. I've been watching your videos and guides H4G, and these are the main reason of my return to Vanadiel.
I'll work towards my previous goals in game, getting Aegis, Excalibur, the Relic GK & R. Katanas for SAM and NIN as well. Fun times ahead. Thank you for your content H4G.
Matsui-P is a bad ass iv been using him with smn and dnc and having a great time with him. also great vid keep it up dude
His skillchain script is the same as Ayame. He choose ws to open for you after you use that WS once. So if you use fragmentation WS, he will start opening with Fusion WS, so you can make light. Also if you actually buff his attack to cap and he reach 3000tp, he will fire off blade: ten for like 35k+
It's important to know that the closer of the WS dictates how much dmg the skillchain does. You want the a heavy DD or like Flaming Crush from a smn with a good BP dmg set to close.
Very good observation I’m going to try out this trust
I use him on my THF for this month's Qutrub Intense Ambuscade. He's pretty rad, consistently opens Light skillchain with Blade:Kamu > Mandalic Stab, and bursts Raiton:San and Thunder. And has shadows if he's a target of Phantasm Strike (the instant KO move).
Should make a video of most useful trusts for different scenarios. Sometimes the right combination of trusts depending on your task can make a world of difference
Yes great idea for video. Would require a ton of research for job your playing as & party setup of trusts

Rdm was game breaking with a absurd amount of fast cast,herme sandals, and the tights. Ohh can't leave out the coveted rdm cap. Simply was kite the night away while dropping dots. Took hours but thank God for refresh/convert.

Love your content, man! I'm not an active player but I think any kind of limit on trusts is good. The game isn't what it used to be I understand that but it's probably for the best that players interact from beginning to end-game otherwise it's not really an MMO is it? Cheers!
Matsui-P was awesome for grinding jp as rdm, that and taking advantage of the campaign I managed to both kill cloud of darkness and master rdm!
I’ve been using him along with my Ninja since I’ve been on for the free login campaign. Finally got Su2, but yea his burst damage is insane. He uses some other weapon skills I don’t even have so I do get a little jealous.
Been using this trust since I got back into the game and my gosh is he fantastic.
Started cping my Nin with this little guy for the last week. Almost 800jp so far.. what a beast this taru is.
Oh no! what if SE starts doing cash grabs with Trusts? like pay a one time cost to unlock, or extend the trust availability, that would piss so many players off.

(Frozendragon77). Hey Huntin been a while! This new trust kicks ass! I’m on monk. I’m finding you have to open with the WS you want him to chain with you. For example he won’t do anything until I open with dragon kick. Then he waits until my TP is 1000+ and uses a WS that chains LIGHT with Dragon Kick. He always does it without fail. The only time he changes his WS is if I change mine. If I decide to switch to Asuran Fists he changes to something else. He is really outputting some heavy damage though. Then on top of that Amchuchu does his WS for additional LIGHT. I really am going to miss this Trust when they take him away! I don’t have the Archangels yet so I can’t say for sure he’s the best overall trust but because of him I’m acing this months intense Ambuscade because he can take hate away from me with Gesshou and phantom strike doesn’t touch them lol. I don’t have to go and raise ninja as a sub job. Happy New Year man!

A bit late to the party but as Apoc DRK, he opens with blade: hi for darkness then often goes for double ice MB. For a pretty smooth Hi to Catastrophe. As THF I use him as a make shift tank opening the fight with TA mandalic stab on him with assassin's charge to apply hate. He's actually my go to tank when soloing odin on THF. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able to open for star diver goon very well but oh well. He apparently also works well with rudras storm friends been doing that. Can also pair him with Iroha and let Iroha self SC and get double MB from both.
Just Grinding through Eden and loving every minute of it :)
Thanks for pointing out that he doesn't synergize as well with all jobs. I can't tell you how many people said "He works just like ayame," when he in fact does not work just like her. I was having a hard to time with him because he kept wanting skillchain with everything except savage blade and leaden salute on my cor, which are by far my two best ws.
Also to be fair not many trust work too great with COR.
I have two ciphers in my inventory that I can’t use. I know I’m supposed to trade with my starting trust quest npcs.
I started out in windhurst so I got kupipi, but after I finished that trust quest for her I couldn’t turn them into Wetata. At all.
Am I missing something?
Just came back to 11 and damn I missed it played for over 10 year and so much changed but love this game so much memories NIN ftw
He’s great for darkness and light he will base his weapons skill off of whatever you are using so if you switch to a darkness based ws he will open for it mid fight even if you were doing light. if he can’t skill chain off you he should be doing blade retsu for like 10 to 15k. 10/10 best trust we have so far make sure you get some haste on him so you aren’t sitting at 3k tp. Also you can open skillchain and if you get back to 1k tp fast enough he can close it and you can get your double light/dark or Ultimate skillchain setup right there he’s amazing all while bursting the whole time.
I’m still waiting for them to set up Alliances with Trust Parties but I understand the hesitation.

i've been using Matsui to grind mnk to master. blade:shun > dragon kick has been pretty awesome light SC, shantotto II & Matsui MB. But then if Shantotto II has TP, she'll SC L4 light, and burst on it too. If Shan II has TP, as Matsui is SC, make sure you boost or something, so Shan II doesn't WS on you first. (fun little trick from trial and error).
It's gonna be a sad day when they take Matsui away. Going to grind out MNK and WAR to master before then at least.

Very late to the party . Is trust an available option for new accounts ? I’ve been really wanting to start a new account but am dreading solo play or trying to start anew in such a older community.

I took a break recently and now I feel the need to get back to enjoy this limited time trust, maybe that's the rationale of the little guy being temporary, us guys on break feel like we need to resub.
I just reactivated my account after 12 years. Just trying to get a healer and a black mage trust. Not sure where to go to get them. I got Trion as tank. Im leveling my bst at 78 when I left the game.

Great video. Yeah, I'm frustrated, too. No reason at all why they should spend all those resources on developing a new trust, just to take him away a few months later. Makes less than zero sense.
I'd like to see them spend those resources updating the trash-tier trusts we already have. 90-95% of the trusts in the game are either a) only useful in super niche situations, b) just have bad AI in general, or c) really under-powered. I want tank trusts that can actually hold hate, DD trusts that rival Shantotto 2, and healing trusts that don't run out of MP in the first 2 minutes of a fight. If they could go back and overhaul the trash-tier trusts with updated AI and/or tweaks to damage/mitigation outputs, it would open up WAY more options with dealing with a much, much larger variety of encounters. At this point, I probably haven't even tried out 70% of the Trusts I already have, and that's a big problem.

If I would have to guess as why SE would do that "1 year only" trust system, it's to sort of mimic having a real life player available for that year and then they leave, or something like that. I'm not sure if that's what they're trying to do but it sounds like they're trying to make it feel more realistic, like having a trust available as a sort of... story arc to it or something? I dunno
serusly they would just move to a free to play model and make a lot of the "costumes/cosmetic" items available for some sort of currency that can be purchased, or at the very least drop the monthly cost to $3-$5 montly as apposed to the $12-$16 depending on mules/bags etc. its far far to expensive for a month to month cost. and is honestly the only thing from keeping me from being an accasional player of it. i think that is one thing they can do that would absolutely make the server population healthy overall.
so I really wanna play FF11 again. I LOVE that game! but its so lonely grinding 1-99 solo. Is there a particular server thats actually populated? or does one have to get into those private servers. I hate what FF11 has become..the hay day of FF11 was so amazing! and I cherish those memories and I would love to explore Vanadiel with a group of people or even just find a LS where people talk. TY for keeping the memories of FF11 alive
Asura is the most populated server, and it's pretty crowded-at 99. Unfortunately FFXI just isn't about the longform social level experience like it used to be. : \
But you can definitely find LSes were people talk and will help out.

Could you make tutorial vids about this game? I am surprised there are basically none. Like how does the game work, class guides, game mechanics, how is the grinding and how is the multiplayer? Do you have to travel to a dungeon or is there a dungeon finder (I'm guessing no, but knowing how it works would help a lot). I heard this game even has PvP, how does that work? UA-cam is poor on FFXI material.

I'm Enjoying Matsui-P. I always have him in the #3 slot and I am BST. I guess the fact that he is so awesome is the reason he, like Cornelia, are temporary. They are both "too" good. I think the idea is get as much use out of them while you can. Cornelia was designed to let a player start hitting mobs before they really should have. Masui-P seems to be designed to burn through mobs faster than one really should. And by should; I mean in each case the relative performance would be impossible without them. But yea; enjoying it while it lasts !
What server are you on? Thinking about starting fresh toon.
I'm on Asura I started from scratch when I came back to experience story again. I'm on zilart, but I need to rank 10 bastok & Windurst still

The initial impression of the NIN/BLM trust was pretty dreadful prior to release. Another DPS (or gimmick tank) versus something more support based. Then it released and it didn't take long for people to change their tune, myself included. His WS damage is actually pretty damn respectable, depending on what WS is being used. On Apex Leeches, he was doing 3-6K, possibly a bit more. Those bursts are usually really nice though. I'm not a fan of his often requiring 1500 TP to begin opening, but it's probably there for self SC (which is most of the time). Depending on gear/job, you can work multi-step Light/Dark SCs with him despite that though, which is pretty damn awesome.
Plus, he only opens skillchains, shantotto is notorious for always trying to close SCs with her weak ws dmg, which is annoying. When they get rid of matsui, melees gonna suck. I play drk, war, and pld with him and he wrecks. Using torcleaver, he consistently opens with blade ku. He only seems to alter if you change the ws you're using and typically the one he swaps to is an opener for the one you just used.
i use currilia ghesho zeid2 king of hearts n fab gob i get drk light mb n scission but ya gotta watch them close they dont tell ya lol

I hope they do something to reboot this game. It used to be difficult to solo and the game is built to be a group event. Most of the first installments required a full party to finish. Seeing multiple parties in the Valkrum Dunes would be an accomplishment. I think I'll pick a different first 75 than RDM if it gets rereleased 😜. The progress for companions has gone really far. Taru, taru.
What if we start a petition to leave him in the game? I love this guy, he goes with me everywhere!

2) Why are there so many Trusts, but still not a single one of them is a Blue Mage?
Surprised that they're not charging money for special trusts like Matsui-P.
Putting a trust out and taking it away is dumb there no point to it , I just canceled my account due to the fact that I have to buy inventory space that should be given me free for all my jobs .
Not a fan of temporary trust if they feel they are overpowered and want people to use more of a variety they should bring the unused ones up to be on par with the good ones why is shantoto 2 the only DD mage with the ability to manage MP even the other versions of shantoto blow their load in seconds and do way less damage overall.
Start a petition to keep Matsui-P as permanent trust and get Cornelia back as permanent!

I fired up the game last week after being un-subbed for a year since there's a free to play campaign. Didn't last long though since SE, in their infinite wisdom, decided to keep Mog Wardrobe 3 and 4 locked(where most of my good gear is). Thankfully it wasn't a total waste since I then decided to jump back onto my Eden account and so far it's been fantastic with tons of players on.

Was playing with him after watching this video. After waiting a bitn he finally used a ws. Later noticed that if you just pick a ws, P will choose one to best fit it. Also, "/refa all" dismisses all trusts at once. Not to many ppl know.
I completly agree, this is the most enjoyble trust to have.
I really hate to see him go, and i was thinking of maybe even doing a petition to keep him in the game.
