If I remember correctly, NBC aired this live about 4 days before the match as a "pre fight special extravaganza". This match was a huge deal for many reasons. Even though he held the WBC title, Many if not all considered Holmes as THE heavyweight champion. And a young undefeated slugger was challenging Holmes for that title. Those were fun times indeed!

Larry Merchant. Never really liked of truly gave Holmes and Hagler there just dues with the power he had behind his 🎤. I don’t believe he was truly liked either by the fighters .
