idk if you noticed but in this test frame consistency is worse on Intel, also AMD is around 40% more efficient with better average fps, and price difference is just 50$ and ms on graph doesn't spike so drastically like on intel, for mini atx build that cpu is just perfect.

Overclock that i7 to 5.6 GHz and we have a whole different ball game. The i7 will start trading blows in gaming and will curb stomp it in day-to-day workloads. Makes 0 sense to buy the x3d chip for $450, especially with all the failures it’s having.
the failures arent because of the processor, but because of motherboard vendors. also the power consumption will be ridiculous if you overclock it to 5.6ghz and above. in europe 1 kw/h costs 40-50euro cents depending where you live, thats 0.55$ for 1kw/h. you will think twice about choosing intel over amd for gaming or workloads. if you need a workload processor, 7950x3d/7950x exist.
@@SweatyFeetGirl good point but let me give you my scenario. I own a 13600k (5.6 GHz, 4.4 GHz on the e-cores) At idle, it uses 2 watts. Yesterday, I used my pc for 7 hours (5 hours of work on internet and Microsoft word + 2 hours of gta 5). My whole cpu average power consumption was 15w. Any 7000 series amd cpu idle wattage is above 25w. Therefore intel is actually more efficient in my scenario. If you only play games or render stuff, yes amd will be more efficient, but I use my pc for everything.
The only real tests are MMOs - WoW, SWTOR, ESO, New World, Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, to name a few popular ones - in crowded areas or raids. UA-camrs showcasing these cpus on single player games are just wasting everyone's time.
I don't think they are anywhere close to being the same price. You should compare the ryzen 7 7800x3d to the i7 13700kf/k like in the video, but to answer your question if you have anything to do on the workload part of the cpu the i5 13600k/kf it's even better than some older threadrippers worth $600+. If you go for 1440p/4k I doubt you'll need to go for the ryzen 7 7800x3d, to give a plus to ryzen though, lga 1700 it's a dead platform and am5 will keep on for some time so you're likely have a pretty good upgradable path. If you intend to upgrade only in 5+ years though I wouldn't go for an x3d cpu but either i5 13600kf or ryzen 5 7600/x.
For those wondering, the 7800X3D performs around 10-15% better than the 13700K while costing around 10% more and using around 33% less power. If you are gaming, its a no brainer. But for productivity, 13700K is better. Insane value CPUs.
Neither of the two CPUs are being used at its max performance I'd like to umdertand why the 4090 perform better with the 7800x3d Does anyone knows how to explain that?
Someone in 2024 wanted the i7 13700k but it have a lot of issues so u thinking about ryzen 7 7800x3d? Idk if they will fix the issues on intel but I dont think they will so I will go now with the ryzen 7 7800x3d and 4070 ti super. (Sorry if theres some mistakes in writing)
Now I see why Gamers Nexus said that if you need anything done on the workload part there is no reason to go for the ryzen 7 7800x3d, just if you want to game only. Also the ryzen 9 7900x3d and 7950x3d are "useless" for the extra price you for them against the ryzen 7 7800x3d. Also in my country (also in many more as I've seen on a lot of comments) there's an average of $100 more for the ryzen 7 7800x3d and if we also compare the whole platform amd on the cpu side it's pretty much the worst choice you can take, if going on a much lower budget though amd becomes the best choice.
even for gaming I see now reason to buy X3d, 7600X is doing a fantastic job, in some games it is even faster than X3D (counter strike for example). And is half price!
I decided to go with 13700KF due to 7800X3D chips burning sockets, higher platform cost, weaker performance with 2K and 4K monitors and low performance outside of games. The only good thing about 7800X3D is lower power consumption, but it's not a game changer so I went back to Intel (sadly, because I like AMD).
I know why tests was done with FHD resolution and RTX 4090 and from one side it's right, but from the other side it's absolutely unrealistic scenario and might create some confusion. No one going to use FHD with RTX 4090, they will most likely use QHD or 4K. In 4K difference between CPUs will be too small or it might be no difference at all. So my point is buy what is currently feels more benefitial for you by price and availability of CPUs and motherboards, or simply which brand you prefer more.
I always thought the 13000 series from intel was a little pointless. You really just want the 13600k and save the money. Who wants to spend $450 on an AMD cpu?
7800x3d has rlly impressive power consumption, but imo still not worth buying it, because its like 120$ more expensive (at least for me), and the difference is gonna be even smaller at 1440p or 4k
the true difference is in the non upscaled games of jedi survivor and hogwarts legacy, every other game in this vid has dlss on which is running the games at 900p....
Yo bro, why you playing games at ultra settings? That's what you do to test gpu performance in games, not cpu. People should note the 7800x3d is using almost half as much power, and would also therefore require less cooling. That power price difference and cooler price difference would add up quite quickly. But in terms of trying to maximize performance, if you already have a 13700k, you shouldnt swap to a 7800x3e
@@-Ice_Cold-Ah, your ignorance is showing. The reason why they don't test at unplayable resolutions is because that's where you're testing game engines and not the actual hardware. There's a reason why games like CS:GO, Overwatch, and rainbow 6 hit 500+ fps with new hardware: they're designed to. Most games aren't. But if you're looking for what CPU has more architecture optimizations for modern games, you don't want GPU to be a factor, or the game engine. I get that a 4090 is powerful as hell, but you're still going to bottleneck it by going high settings, making it difficult to isolate what the GPU is slowing vs the CPU. There's a good reason why GPUs are better tested at higher resolution, and CPUs at lower. You balance game engine constraints by keeping the GPU in a range where it doesn't trivialize it, but you don't make it work too hard either. The opposite is true too, you don't want an 8 year old CPU to help you test a GPU.
@@ron6625 Dude, you say why test games on ultra settings, but almost all reviewers do it. Although these benchmarks are intended to determine the performance of the CPU, but no one will play with such a hardware at 1080P.
No it isnt. Only ultra textures do, other than textures the rest is entirely more load on gpu which is why we can see it at 90% in some parts of the video. Rust players, fortnite players, and many different gamers have complained for years that benchmarks dont show what max fps these cpus can get because in the end thats what matters for competitive play.
For me the 7800x3d is the perfect CPU, since I usemy PC almost exclusively for gaming. And since processors have gotten obscenely fast, the actual cpu power difference won't make any difference to me. Though if someone one a CPU wuth high multi/singlecore performance they should stick to intel.
AMD has better perforamnce and uses less power in games. DO you game? Is there any more question? And also the AM5 platform is new and will be supported until 2025+ ;) SO at least 2 more gens, meanwhile fo intel it is the last gen. 😞

I'm also trying to decide between 13700k and 7800x3d. I'm partial to Intel, due to potentially better compatibility with old games/emulators which I have a ton of.
@@AR-ey1ur I did, Opsys had received an update from Asus that they had a bios update coming out (1616) in another couple of days, so they held onto my system for 48 hours, applied the update and shipped. It's come with expo applied. I've been keeping an eye on the CPU soc voltage with hwinfo. It's a steady 1.24 (so well under 1.35 safe limit) and never increases. The system runs Hogwarts Legacy at ultra at 4k at 60fps (it would maybe go higher FPS, but my monitor only does 60!). CPU temp hasn't gone above 75c. I'm really happy, I only use my pc for gaming so the 7800x3d was the best choice from what I could see.

Nah there’s no need. The 7700x will do perfectly fine and the performance difference in games is unnoticeable at higher resolutions. In some productivity workloads the 7700x is slightly faster if i recall correctly.

a lot of people here are ignoring the fact the 7800X3D doesnt win outright as its A LOT more money for the CPU, Ram, and Platform itself. For the performance its a 50/50 as the 7800X3D may have higher frames in most of these, but that frame time consistency is terrible in a lot of them with awful lows although not all games have the AMD dip.
idk if you noticed but in this test frame consistency is worse on Intel, also AMD is around 40% more efficient with better average fps, and price difference is just 50$ and ms on graph doesn't spike so drastically like on intel, for mini atx build that cpu is just perfect.
a lot of people here are ignoring the fact that intel is sitting on a dead platform and zen4 is brand new

First of all, who tf is surprised ? AMD has way better efficiency. And second, 13700K has 8 P-cores, which are the only cores that matter and are comparable between the CPUs. E-cores are useless and do not affect gaming power consumption nor performance at all@@AleksCoreBY

I would like to see completely overclocked and max tuned CPUs and Ram comparison. The 13700k has a lot of performance still left in the tank. For example it can use DDR5 at 7200MTs where the ryzen can only use 6000 to 6400 well.

Overclock that i7 to 5.6 GHz and we have a whole different ball game. The i7 will start trading blows in gaming and will curb stomp it in day-to-day workloads. Makes 0 sense to buy the x3d chip for $450, especially with all the failures it’s having.
you forgot to say / give money for cooling and electricity pay the bill
the failures arent because of the processor, but because of motherboard vendors. also the power consumption will be ridiculous if you overclock it to 5.6ghz and above. in europe 1 kw/h costs 40-50euro cents depending where you live, thats 0.55$ for 1kw/h. you will think twice about choosing intel over amd for gaming or workloads. if you need a workload processor, 7950x3d/7950x exist.

You have the ask yourself 1st “what’s my budget”?

And, is it good?
And is half price!
intel has a dead platform, on zen4 you can certainly do some CPU upgrades in the future, that might put the extra price in perspective
@@Marvid236 I agree there.... the people who went with a x370 board back in 2017 or a x470 board back in 2018 are now reaping the benefits.

Unless they are still old games which at that point fps is above 500 anyways

This is a cpu test. Why would upscaling matter?
1120x632 resolution? wtf?
Yo bro, why you playing games at ultra settings? That's what you do to test gpu performance in games, not cpu.
People should note the 7800x3d is using almost half as much power, and would also therefore require less cooling. That power price difference and cooler price difference would add up quite quickly. But in terms of trying to maximize performance, if you already have a 13700k, you shouldnt swap to a 7800x3e
What a stupid statement. Yeah, if you testing CPUs, why not playing in 600 or even 480P?
