Love when the dual sound kicks in (music & race); nice job as always.

Watched part 2 first and the comment I left for that one pretty much would echo the same for part 1 so I won't repeat myself but, will add that my times at the drags were in Ohio....Thompson, Quaker City, Norwalk and, good old Dragway 42. Also both part 1 and 2 showcase just how much of a common man sport drag racing was in those days. Great time to be a young kid and the best of times spent with my dad at those tracks only to be rivaled by getting involved with dirt bikes and racing motocross with my dad when we moved to California in 1970.....

Thanks for the great memories, John. The first time I went there they had a flag man as a starter. I see you had to go to the studio and do your own Steve Miller Band and Buffalo Springfield. Great job! A wonderful piece of history, for sure. Thank You!

Thanks for checking it out, Jim. Yeah, YT has been messing with my videos so it looks like I'll be spending some time making new soundtracks and reposting some stuff. That's okay, just makes it more fun! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

You've made some of my favorite vintage drag racing videos I've ever seen on UA-cam. I really do enjoy the music that you pair with these photos and movies. You have some million-dollar pictures in my book.

No problem! I have a playlist on my channel if you want to check it out, it's called Vintage Drag Racing and 80% of it is your videos.

Think I saw and commented before but it's worth more than a few viewings👍👍.... remember the "DerWienerschnitzel" rails. There were two of them, one driven by Jim Nicoll and the other by Mike Snively....man, those were the days. Thanks for sharing....were those yours or just a collection of downloads? Just saw my previous comment...😁😁

My dad says he used to Race these back in the day. His name is Wally Smith. Has anyone ever herd of him?

Any chance of getting the name of the songs used for this video? I always thought that first one was Stand Back but I must be wrong, thanks!

First song is my instrumental version of "Livin' in the USA" by the Steve Miller Band. Second song is "Mr Soul" by Buffalo Springfield, also my instrumental cover.
