I wish this kind of spirit and dynamic existed on a larger scale today.

This era of drag racing will always be the most important era of the sport of organized drag racing. As far as I am concerned the cars and the people of that era really had the stuff. I find regular drag racing since the 1980's a real bore fest. I am so thankful that nostalgia drag racing exists to try and recreate the glory years of drag racing in the past. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

Kid: Granddad, whats that weird looking wrench for?
    Ganddad: Thats a distributor wrench.
    Kid; Whats a distributor?
Granddad: Its where the points go.

I ran my 1965 chevelle at national in 1979 and 1980……I was heartbroken when the track closed. I flat towed out there from Yonkers.

Elton Spurlock .... im not a Ford guy , but at least Ford was actually competing against mopar. Chevrolet was non existent, until they changed the rules in 72 , so they could compete.

At 3;50 or so watch one of the Smothers brothers run that beautiful 442 to about a 13 second quarter mile time. Not a 10 something like the idiot said but impressive for the car and driver. Good old days.

Les Keiter was hardly an idiot. He covered all types of racing. I dare say he knew more than you will in 10 lifetimes.
