I think he changed his tempo at certain times for sure. I’m used to one tempo going through the whole suite but this is a new way to listen to Bach, very refreshing. Thank you!
One tempo through the whole would not make any sense. Every dance, so every movement after the prelude, is different in its character and therefore also has a different tempo. Courante being quiet and fast for example. In contrary to the Sarabande that has a slower pulse and should be more extroverted.
Still my favorite rendition of Bach 6.
