Same here with the Reign of the Supermen comic series. I bought every issue until they killed off my fave (Last Son of Krypton). Supes in shades was uber cool.
I was totally obsessed with '89 Batman, I taped literally everything pertaining to the film... every different trailer, sponsored commercials, reviews, interviews, behind the scenes, when it won Art Direction at the Oscars...etc
sorry man been a long day i watch 1 of your vids every evening and by far your the best speaker and reviewer of Dvds. Now im at min 6 of this one so 16 min left -))
I'm glad to see the anthology is back in the collection and that you've got Superman Doomsday. :) Speaking of re-aquirements hoping o send one title to you (in Region 2 format though of course) which you also purged from your collection in 2010, but I'm patientially awaiting the arrival of the publication of the eighty Cereal:Geek. While aquiring a few other goodies as well. I'll of course let you know when they're all on their way. :)
Tip of the day: Switch the video on the UA-cam options to 240p and it loads faster. Great video. I think I liked the fourth Batman more than the third in a "it's so bad it's good" kinda way. It's hilarious how corny it is with puns.
Great review! I got the Batman Anthology fall of 2011, Superman [2 L.E.DVD] a couple years back. As for The Superman Anthology the original opening [Deleted Scene] is well worth it for the Blu-ray version.
Did the Batman Forever DVD have the U2 'Hold me, Kiss me, Kill me, Thrill me' music video? I remember that song and the Seal song when Batman Forever came out. Great stuff :)
I remember I found the Ghostbusters 2 novelization the day before the movie opened, I of course bought and devoured it in one night... there was a ton of stuff in there that didn't make the movie. I guess the GB1 novelization is the same way, but I've never gotten my hands on a copy.
I wish instead of making two or three parters they'd give us single DC movies that are longer than 75-80 minutes. I've got the '89 Batman on blu... I've been trying to decide if I want to give it up and get the anthology... or if I *really* need BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN & ROBIN on blu-ray.
Couldn't agree more...I don't understand how anyone could claim anything other than Batman and Robin is the worst. Burtons Batman films were always my favorites, my all time being Returns. I thought he captured the Batman vibe the best. I was always bummed he didn't get a third film for a trilogy. You should do a video on your thoughts on the live action batman movies. I'd watch it haha
Hey, how do you feel about the different interpretations of the Joker? I grew up with the 1989 version, and therefore have a soft spot for Jack Nicholson. But I can definitely respect the way Heath Ledger took the character. I've always been on the fence about Mark Hamill; I think his version on TAS was almost like a mix between the Nicholson and Ledger Jokers, which is really great. I just haven't watched TAS recently enough to pass definitive judgement.
"Before this, the only live-action Batman was the 60s series" - You're wrong, there were two live-action Batman movies in the 1940s. Also an interesting note, the two done in the 1940s are the only ones not to be done by Warner Bros. They were done by Sony under their Columbia banner.
to you like the keep 1983 michael mann first time i seen was on the old film net chanel before the blu ray and dvd know i get them on dvd so i don't know is ter al ready a blu ray? thanks greeting
thanks, since you have Elektra is on your shelf, plan to get Catwoman as well. For some reason I prefer Catwoman over Elektra, since Elektra was just boring with cool action sequences. Catwoman was stupid, but in an entertaining way.
The Digi-book is great, I was obsessed with that movie for a good 5 years until Shoemaker kinda shamed the series. Seemed like half the world had that Batman symbol shirt in 1989.
yes The Summer of 89 was the Summer of Batman. I still have my Taco bell Batman collectors cup and who could for get the cereal it came with that Batman coin bank.
I was 8 when the first batman came out, and it was a huge part of my childhood. As for the rest of them, I liked batman returns, and batman forever was ok, like you said. Could have been better. But I agree batman and robin was terrible! I havent seen any of these movies on blu ray but imagin they look pretty good.
Did you ever do your video review of "The Dark Knight"? I was anxiously awaiting that one simply because we were flooded with over the top "Nolan is God" praise, and as a fan of the comics and Animated Series, there were some issues that just didn't work with me. "Batman (1989)" and "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" are the highlights of the Batman film universe, in my opinion. "Batman & Robin" is awful, but you can kind of enjoy it in a way that the Adam West series offered.
I always felt that George Clooney was the BEST Bruce Wayne (he just looked the part). Also DARK KNIGHT is the best Bat film however I prefer Christian Bale as a villain, like in the SHAFT remake. I was hoping for a full critique on all 4 films. Also why have you not go WATCHMEN on BRay?
Hey that's my Batman digibook! Or was mine....well you know what I mean. I bought that copy for you at the same time I bought my own copy, and like you said in the package opening vid for it, it is definitely one of the better digibooks. Except for that awful blue bar at the top. It sits there mocking me everytime I look at it........curse you Warner Bros.!!!
...Arnold sucked as Mr. Freeze but was great as Victor Freeze... No, they all sucked. It had a lot to do w the studio as well as Joel S directing. Anyway, you got your response to that:)
@colinnaraine is just trying to start trouble;) clooney was great in 'from dusk till dawn' ...that's the 1st flick I saw him in ....never knew about ER... But the guy sucked as Batman/Bruce Wayne... It's like saying A

So glad you got Batman back! You told me to wait for new updates. I did. And you delivered.

I noticed you have the recent Blu Ray release of The Crow. Did you do an update for that? If so, I must have missed it.
I love the batman anthology...well the first two :-)

Do yo plan on getting the Superman anthology set?

gotham City by R. Kelly was actually an awesome song to listen.
The record holder of diying and resurect has to be Jean Grey.

Looks like The Keep has only been released on VHS over here. There's a Region 2 DVD, but otherwise it hasn't hit disc in North America yet.
oke tanks greeting from Belgium
Batman forever was my favourite batman movie...... Helps I was like 8 when I first saw it so Val Kilmer was my batman for the longest time
why is half in your old apartment and the other half in the new 1? -)
nice update again dude.
thanks, since you have Elektra is on your shelf, plan to get Catwoman as well. For some reason I prefer Catwoman over Elektra, since Elektra was just boring with cool action sequences. Catwoman was stupid, but in an entertaining way.
Batman (1989), Tim Burton's version is awesome,I think it's the best of that set!
The Digi-book is great, I was obsessed with that movie for a good 5 years until Shoemaker kinda shamed the series. Seemed like half the world had that Batman symbol shirt in 1989.

Well it's okay on Z's vids cos I am more interested on listening to what he says than visuals.
charles xavier... not too much. Jean Grey though.... its her thing really.

Sorry eight, not eighty, but hopefully Cereal:Geek will run for eighty issues and over...:D
...Arnold sucked as Mr. Freeze but was great as Victor Freeze... No, they all sucked. It had a lot to do w the studio as well as Joel S directing. Anyway, you got your response to that:)
240p looks like ass though, no tips will fix that.
Superman Doomsday, my ass. It should be called, Death of Superman, since Doomsday is only in the first third of the film. I liked the film, though.
Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne is one of the most unbelieveable castings in movie history. That movie just didn't do it for me.
@colinnaraine is just trying to start trouble;) clooney was great in 'from dusk till dawn' ...that's the 1st flick I saw him in ....never knew about ER... But the guy sucked as Batman/Bruce Wayne... It's like saying A
Danny Devito was simply repulsive, Michelle Pfeiffer was...perhaps some things are best kept to ones self.
I hated the Superman Doomsday movie, they changed way too much. All the other DC movies are great.
Gee, any Batman after Tim Burton are pointless to me including the new crappy ones...
