I know what you mean. He has this element of hipness in the way he speaks as if he wants to vibe with the students. But it doesn't decrease the value of his message or intelligibility. Griffin is truly great.
Awesome lecture! Griffin is a cool lecturer and a pleasure to watch. Too bad the sound isn't that good, and u can't hear most of what Constantin Iordachi is saying.
You should check out Griffin's latest book on terrorism and the search for meaning (Terrorist's Creed). A very good read brimming with fascinating insights and all couched in clear but engaging language!
Griffin gives such brilliant lectures, a great speaker. But his books are written in such a dull and impenetrable academic fashion. You wouldn't think it was the same guy.
I disagree. I think the difference is one of increment. Although incremental change when it attains enough mass can be a qualitative change. Basically, I think that his books are just as clear and engaging as his talks, except that of course there is much more detail and theorizing. I've only read one book by him that I didn't care for but I thought the rest were very clear and engaging. To be fair though I do really well with the academic style so maybe its me 😂

Thank you so much for uploading this... Wow...
I was at CEU when this lecture was given but I was in Croatia that day. Now I've found this, and it's made my day

Easily my favorite lecturere at Brookes
Long time reader and great fan of his works on the history of fascism. I'm reading his book on terrorism now. Stoked!
@mhenor do you study there?
