Unpopular opinion - I’ve eaten there twice. The wait outside even with a reservation was insane. The food and drinks were okay. The service was okay. Really not sure what I’m missing about this place

Joseph Chan said the same thing in another comment, about the wait. Which is odd, because we didn't wait more than 10 minutes after checking in. And even when we did the walk-up wait list last year, we only waited maybe 10 minutes.

I'm visiting from Texas in mid Dec. I'm going to try to get a ressie. We'll see. Most vloggers like the potato skins more than the nachos. I live in Texas and eat nachos all the time so wanted something different.

The potato skins were pretty good, too. Amy enjoyed them more than I did. She said they grew on her after awhile. So long as you mix them in with the sauce provided, they have decent flavoring.

Hi - love your videos and your family is the best. Thanks for sharing your meal with us! We eat at Lamplight every trip - usually brunch and dinner. For dinner, we enjoy the potato skins but we always order extra sauces. We prefer the chicken nachos (lobster was fishy for us the last several times). The Salmon PLT and Kung Pao Bao are our favorite dishes and the Salmon Poke is a close 3rd. Burger is really good too. The brunch is really special.

Hi Disney Dad! Hope you still remember me hahaha. So in a twisted fate of events, I think I'm going back to Disneyland for a second time this year! Our trip will be scheduled on the 25th of April. I'll be taking notes on what you said last time, but we're also planning of park hopping from Disneyland to California Adventure!
As of now, I'm kind of puzzled with how our itinerary to California Adventure will pan out, so I'm currently in the middle of watching this video and your All 18 Disney California Adventure Rides 2023 video. So the question I'm about to mention is when's the best time to park hop to California Adventure. I'm not for certain if you have a video regarding the best time to park hop, but there are other stuff in Disneyland that I want to check out before coming to CalAdventure, like my aforementioned big three list haha. Huge thanks if you can reply, and always keep up with the high quality videos!

I’d hop once Disneyland gets too busy for you to handle. That’s generally around 1-2 PM or so.
Then hop back over after DCA closes if you stay out till Midnight (provided Disneyland doesn’t have an after dark event that night)

Hello there I have a question about dinning reservations. So I know that you can book dinning reservations 60 days in advance and before I make mine at lamplight lounge i want to know if I can book it if I am a teenager. I am going on a field trip with my school and so was wondering if I can or cannot get reservations at dinning places. I was wondering this because I used my own email and put my own date of birth and I wasn’t able to purchase genie plus because I was under the age limit so I’m wondering if it is the same for lamplight lounge. I only want to book a reservation at lamplight lounge. Thank you ❤❤❤

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  6 місяців тому

You have to use a credit card to reserve dining reservations so my guess is you would need to be over 18 to reserve. You can always try doing a walk-up at the upstairs portion of lamplight lounge though.

@@hildagarcia4555 I’ve done both. One isn’t faster than the other. It’s whatever your preference is. Of course, if you don’t want to take away from park time, you could just eat quick service. There’s a ton of good options around the park for delicious food.

Disclaimer: we visit regularly and always get every reservation we want. So perhaps we just have a good grasp on the algorithm.
Having just gotten reservations for each day over the course of a week-long trip, gonna disagree with this being the most coveted. Blue Bayou, Oga's, brunch here, and Trader Sam's go MUCH faster and Blue Bayou is MUCH more desirable, especially for new guests. As an example, reservations for June 2nd have been opened up for 12 hours now and there are still a whole bunch of lunch reservations available for LLL. None for BB.

The outside temperature definitely has an impact on a good dining experience. We tried to eat outside at Hollywood Studios and even though the food was tasty, it was so hard to eat since it was so hot (it was over 86 degrees in November with minimal shade). And then on flip side, our last trip to Disneyland it was so cold we opted for bao buns and lumpia at the Tropical Hideaway because Dole Whip didn’t sound good at all 🤣. Thankfully we can get both Dole Whip and great lobster nachos locally, so we’re good. If we do opt to try the Lamplight Lounge someday, it will definitely have to be on a warmer day. It’s about the same as Blue Bayou. Perhaps a little less difficult than Oga’s Cantina, but only due to Oga’s having significantly less space.
It is, however, very easy to get into Oga’s Walk-up List, whereas Lamplight’s Wait List goes in about 5-10 minutes. If you aren’t there at 11 AM, you aren’t getting on the walk up list.

Just ate there 3 days ago. The lobster nacho was MEGA disappointing... zero lobster flavor and the freshness you expect from a good plate of nacho was barely there. The Poke was pretty good, but the portion was sooo small... and don't even get me started on the kids meals.. Tiny and cold.
Which I was so sad about, given we woke up at 6am, 60 days prior and got a resv. And then got one of the best seats in the house (our group of 12 got the big bench beside your table), only be to disappointed. We also waited 45minutes for food... at 130pm with the lunch crowd gone... absolute letdown.

      Other restaurants we tried:
Blue Bayou Oscar Ribeye was the absolute best steak I had since Singapore's CUT restaurant, a 5star spot. Highly recommend
We abandoned Carnation Cafe after 45+mins waiting WITH a reservation. Staff was robotic and repeated their mantra but did little to actually help. 5 staff chatting at the resv. table and not helping inside.. we left to eat at IHOP.
Storyteller took 35 minutes to seat us with reservations and we nearly missed the World of Color because of it. Resv. for 7pm, and they took another 20 minutes JUST to get the bill. Wtf Disney...!!
Alien Pizza Planet pasta was really good, worth the lunch break
