I love this channel. It’s my comfort channel, whenever I am sad, overwhelmed or something I watch socal Disney dad. I love Disney and this family is so wholesome I love it.
Also wanted to add that one of the things I appreciate about your videos- and a reason I continue to watch them- is your true earnest feedback and candidness. Very refreshing. At the end of the day I may agree or disagree but I always know you are providing great insight. 😊
0:07 hey Disney Dad! You SAVED my solo vacation coming up by mentioning the 6pm close on Tuesdays during Oogie Boogie. I would have been so upset when it closed so early. I’ve changed my reservations and switched my park days for my in September. THANK YOU!!!
10:55 Bengal BBq had amazing bacon wrapped asparagus bites. I don't know if they still do, but they were so good that it was my must buy every time I went.
I agree with your choices and appreciate your recommendations for Docking Bay. I never order there because I can't understand what's in their dishes. I'm also going to try the Ronto-less wrap at Ronto Roasters. There is so much valuable information in this one, and I like this format
I go to both parks regularly and I rarely eat meals at Disneyland, they have good snacks but DCA has the better meals for me. I do like Rancho del Zocalo and Jolly Holiday Bakery. Just wanted to say I love these videos, I always find new food items to try by watching your videos!
The Disney pizza... Im guessing that they haven't changed that since the 70s or 80s & I haven't bothered trying it since. Reminded me of bad microwave or Chuck E Cheese pizza (also haven't tried since then). Instead of the rest if the bad to mid food in the park, my family would get a Blue Bayou reservation. I was SO happy when i discovered the Royal St Veranda & the bread bowl clam chowder! Best value in the park since I could eat the bowl later in the day! Looking forward to a visit to Disneyland later this year!
Hello! I was wondering if you could do a video on some healthy food options for meals & snacks in either park. I am on a weight loss journey for health reasons, (and probably not alone) :) so have to be alittle careful with my options, but want to enjoy the variety of Disneyland food also. We will be in Disneyland in June. We enjoy your channel very much with all of your wonderful info. and videos, so thought I would ask if you had any recommendations? Thank you so much!
I’m going to try the shoes. Bought some new walking shoes just before our last trip 3 weeks ago and the soles are already falling apart! I don’t recommend the squishy ASICS
Fun video! I really like having the Galactic Grill chicken salad - a healthy, low calorie option that makes me feel good about having a treat later! At DCA I like the salads from Boardwalk.
HI !! Thank goodness for a quick Service Video. I have been wanting to see a video just like this one, that talks about QS restaurants Only ! ( including the times when they star to serve would have been Even Better! 😁) but... I really like your channel , thank you for keeping us unformed. I saw something very interesting where you are saying that the menu is changing for the "troubadour " for the new Pixar events or season. Could you please tell me let me know where I can find this information ? What is this web site that you see these new menu foods? Thank you.
As always, your videos don’t disappoint. Great information… probably shouldn’t be listening around dinner time- now I am craving some of the food you featured today. 😂 Thanks for sharing!
I hate that they have a new menu at Troubadour Tavern. I really really liked that potato they had and looked forward to it for our coming end of summer trip. Hoping the alternatives will be up to par and hope you will review them!
I’m not sure off the top of my head. It’s posted in the description of the video. Along with links to their site depending on your location. I think it’s SDD28 though.
We love your channel! It's helping us to plan for our first trip to Disneyland in over 10 years. Ok, so if we were to have one actual meal item at Disneyland, would you recommend the lobster roll from Harbour Galley or the Ronto-less Wrap at Ronto Roasters? Those are the two items that look best to me from watching this video. Thoughts? Thank you for helping us plan our trip! We appreciate you.
Thank you for another great video! I'm looking forward to enjoying some of these items on our next visit! ❤ Also, do they do rope drop every day at each park?
I have no idea. The last time I ate Knott’s Chicken was 2 years ago. So the memory isn’t all that great. But, if I had to guess, Knott’s is probably better? That whole Knott’s restaurant is geared around their famous chicken. Where Plaza just kind of sells it cafeteria style with a bunch of other stuff. But I’d really need to eat them close together to know for certain.
I love your videos! Thank you for all that you do. ❤ Is there any chance you can post the top 10 best dairy free/vegan options in each park? I am visiting in September, and 3 out of 4 of my group can't have any milk products... but we still want the full Disney experience. Please help! 😅
There’s Vegan options on every menu. The only truly bad one I’ve had is the hotdog from Award Wieners in DCA. Everything has been good. Just have a look at the menus and have them pick what they are most interested in. Chances are, it’ll be enjoyable.
@SoCalDisneyDad I may or may not be fan girling because you've replied to my comment. 🤓 All joking aside, there were not that many vegan options when I was there a few years ago, so that's great, thank you!
We picked Hungry Bear & Pizza Planet during our last visit specifically because of picky eaters who would only eat pizza and chicken tenders. I laugh because you seem to dislike them the most. It's hard to eat a variety of food as an adult when traveling with picky eaters. #parentproblems
Hey! Love you videos! My family and I are coming to Disneyland this summer for the first time in 9 years (we are east coasters). This time we are bringing along my 82 year old mother. She went with us a bunch of times back in the early '70s, so this is a first for her since we were little kids. She's okay with stuff like Pirates of the Caribbean and she likes Soarin' but obviously she is not still up for the more intense stuff. I'm a little surprised to find that Disneyland actually appears to have fewer sit down shows than we're used to at WDW. The new one going into the Fantasyland Theater Pixar Pals Playtime sounds from its title to be a kiddie show. What are your recommendations for lower impact fun for the active elderly in DLR? Are you going to see and report on the Pixar show once it goes in? Thanks so much!
About the only shoes at Disneyland are The Enchanted Tiki Room and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. There are Tangled and Beauty and the Beast shows at the Fantasy Faire Theater that are funny and entertaining for adults, even though the main focus is the kids We will have to see how the Pixar show goes. I’ll have a Pixar Fest video out the following Monday. But Disneyland is more ride-centric than WDW. In fact, we have more rides between both parks than all 4 WDW parks combined. And most of those are at Disneyland itself with around 34 rides. Thankfully, a lot of those rides are tamer in nature. There are thrill rides of course, but there are plenty of things that are slower and more of an experience.
❤You as always❤ On the note of shoes have you tried Hoka’s yet? I have worn Merrill’s for decades and I saw on a Facebook site Somebody had commented about the Hoka’s so I went out and tried them on and I will never go back to any other shoe. They’re like walking on clouds.
Hi Disney dad and family. I hope you all are doing great. I have a question on the Disneyland magic key passes. Do they only sell them in the beginning of the year. Or can you get them anytime?
The top three pass levels are available currently. No telling how long they’ll stay available, but you can get them now. They are valid a year from first use. So if you are worried about them going out, but won’t be able to use them for a little while, you can buy now and it won’t start until you use it. But I do believe you have to use it within a year of purchasing. So hypothetically, you can buy it today, April 15th, activate it on August 25th, 2024 and it’ll be good until August 24th 2025, even though you bought it today. Does that make sense?
Also, as more info, I did just check and when you first purchase a Magic Key Pass the expiration will show a year from the purchase date. But will reset once you use it for the first time to a year from first use. Here’s some info on that: plandisney.disney.go.com/question/purchased-magic-key-pass-first-time-showing-expiration-562620/
Hello. Really random but this is my go to channel right now for disney info. we just made reservations for the week of July 14-19. It says at the bottom on tuesday and thursday that the Disneyland will be closing at 8. Does anyone know why or what event?
You tricked me. I only ran to the video because I was hoping you were gonna tell us that the Zocalo nachos were back 😢😭😫😖 haha maybe one day. Totally kidding I would have watched regardless ❤ big fan of the channel.
Yes! 😂 I thought about that. I was like: “what do I put on the thumbnail? I want something that stands out, has good lighting, and looks tasty. Oh! Here’s one that works. But I only mention it in passing. Should I put it on?” And after some further thinking I said, “At least I DO mention it in the video. So that counts for something right?!” 🤣
Oh nooo! I don't want you to sound like you don't know what you're saying. And I know not everyone can roll their R's, but at least make a good attempt. 1:36. Its not buh-REE-uh!!!! It's BEER-ee-uh. The error is similar to the pronunciation of the name truh-VORE vs TRE-vore. . Now, on to the kudos: 9:05. Good pronunciation of Rancho del Zócalo. So many folks butcher this one, and you got it right! 👍
That fried chicken is BASIC AF! You can get better at your local grocery store deli… Truly makes me question ppl’s taste and what most consider “really good” 😒
If you enjoyed this video and found it helpful, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. Thank you!
Why avoid the pizza at alien place hahah
I love this channel. It’s my comfort channel, whenever I am sad, overwhelmed or something I watch socal Disney dad. I love Disney and this family is so wholesome I love it.

Of course, everyone has different tastes over what item might truly be "the best," but it gives a good idea of a general sort of opinion on the place.
Exactly! Much appreciated.
You know, years ago it was difficult to find a great place to eat at, with the exception of the Blue Bayou! So many choices now, love it!
The Monte Cristo is a MUST.
Indeed! It was super delicious when I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago.
0:07 hey Disney Dad! You SAVED my solo vacation coming up by mentioning the 6pm close on Tuesdays during Oogie Boogie. I would have been so upset when it closed so early. I’ve changed my reservations and switched my park days for my in September. THANK YOU!!!
Perfect! So glad it helped.
10:55 Bengal BBq had amazing bacon wrapped asparagus bites. I don't know if they still do, but they were so good that it was my must buy every time I went.
I love how no matter where you're at, you're beyond honest about your opinions, so we all know what's honestly good or bad. Thank you!
Your videos are awesome, we have watched so many in our lead up to our big family holiday to Disneyland from New Zealand! Thanks so much!
Great video!
I agree with your choices and appreciate your recommendations for Docking Bay. I never order there because I can't understand what's in their dishes. I'm also going to try the Ronto-less wrap at Ronto Roasters. There is so much valuable information in this one, and I like this format
That Mac & Cheese Chili will get a go next visit. Thanks for the recommendation.
I never knew about the Mac and Cheese Chili! Gonna try it too!

Jolly holiday combo ftw!
Rancho del Zocalo has become my go to place for a good quick meal. The burrito Sonora is good.
Appreciate your honesty and perspective
You forgot the baked potato! Also this video was very helpful. I always have trouble deciding what to eat.
The Disney pizza... Im guessing that they haven't changed that since the 70s or 80s & I haven't bothered trying it since. Great recommendations! I hope they keep the standard baked potato at troubadour. I love it.
I miss the jambalaya that French Market used to have.
I’m going to try the shoes. Bought some new walking shoes just before our last trip 3 weeks ago and the soles are already falling apart! I don’t recommend the squishy ASICS
Following! Excited to hear your review too
Absorbing all for an upcoming first trip. Thanks for all the great info.
Fun video! I really like having the Galactic Grill chicken salad - a healthy, low calorie option that makes me feel good about having a treat later! At DCA I like the salads from Boardwalk.
Going to buy me a pair thanksPaul I do a lot of walking 🚶♀️
Thank you for the video

Enjoy! The list of new food is MASSIVE.
As always, your videos don’t disappoint. Great information… probably shouldn’t be listening around dinner time- now I am craving some of the food you featured today. 😂 Thanks for sharing!
🤤🤤
Thank you for the video. Jazz Kitchen is closer to authentic Cajun. 12:58
Really appreciate all your content , Thank You
omg the barri grill cheese looks so good I with I had it 😂 love your vids ❤
It's absolutely delicious!
I hate that they have a new menu at Troubadour Tavern. I really really liked that potato they had and looked forward to it for our coming end of summer trip. Hoping the alternatives will be up to par and hope you will review them!
How is Disneyland with special orders, like asking for items without sauce or garnishes? Love your videos!
Love the vids!!
Thank you!
That shrimp fusilli is highly addictive lol I love it so much I’ve made a copy cat recipe a few times at home! The real thing is better though 🤪
It is super tasty. I never understand when people tell me the pasta there is awful. I think it’s pretty tasty.
What is the discount code for FitVille shoes? Thanks , coming to Disneyland May 12th thru May 17th

Ronto-less Garden Wrap for sure.
Thank you for another great video! I'm looking forward to enjoying some of these items on our next visit! ❤
Also, do they do rope drop every day at each park?
Yes. It’s the just act of opening the park for the day.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank 😊
Appreciate the serious effort that went into making this video. Is Plaza Inn chicken better than Knott’s?
I have no idea. The last time I ate Knott’s Chicken was 2 years ago. So the memory isn’t all that great. But, if I had to guess, Knott’s is probably better?
That whole Knott’s restaurant is geared around their famous chicken. Where Plaza just kind of sells it cafeteria style with a bunch of other stuff. But I’d really need to eat them close together to know for certain.
You are right about the food. All so $$$$
Yesterday I was at DisneyLand 😂

Amy and I want to try Vessi’s for Walt Disney World since it rains there so much and they have waterproof shoes.

Not sure I've met a dude that hates hot dogs.
Kudos on the Zócalo
pronunciation
Ronto-less wraps are ridiculous!
never trust a guy who doesn't like a good ol' fashion hotdog ALSO who the heck doesn't like fried chicken?!!?!
Oh nooo! I don't want you to sound like you don't know what you're saying. And I know not everyone can roll their R's, but at least make a good attempt.

Good pronunciation of Rancho del Zócalo. So many folks butcher this one, and you got it right! 👍
Why is the pizza so bad?, you can get a better slice at a C-Store
It's been bad for at least 45 years. Tomorrowland food was emergency food back then. So many more & better looking options now.
I can see you guys are Mac and cheese people.I'm not
Vegan food sucks. Give me a steak!
That fried chicken is BASIC AF!

If you're in SoCal hit Staters market for a good fried chicken.
