Is Airstream able to issue higher GVWR data plates? At least where I’m at I think the manufacturer is the only one who can issue a different weight rating.
Im buying a 1957 Airstream Overlander 26’ It looks like its been sitting for decades. Im looking forward to renovating it but its a little scary . Hope i can tow it out of there..
That coosa marine board is a brilliant idea. I will definitely be looking into that for our renovation. We don't live near many boat outfitters, so Ill have to check our local fiberglass companies. Do you have a place you usually order through?
the original frame had quite a few cut-outs (I assume to lighten the RV) and you're using totally intact tubular steel (I have no idea if the gauge you use is the same as the original frame). In order to prevent excessive added weight due to the extra metal couldn't you have reduced the number of cross beams?
Would love to get a quote on a subfloor replacement. I have emailed 6 or 7 times over the last several months is there a secret trick to getting a response?
Those outriggers are just about how bad mine were on my '73 31' sovereign. The Vista view windows doubled as waterfalls. Gotta have 2 uses for everything in a tiny space 👍😂😭
Just pulled my shell today. I am hopeful, but also realistic on what to expect. Does anybody know a company that "rebuilds" frames for old airstreams? Or maybe would you do it, "Miller garage?"
If I were the customer, I’d be pissed if you came to me this late in the project with a frame estimate. You could see the potential for frame damage during the initial inspection. Looks like your shop does great work but as a customer, I hate surprises! Man I’d like to know what that frame cost.. How do we contact you?
We went into it knowing it needed work, but until you have the floor off you can't know for sure just how far the extent of the damage is. Trust me, it was not a surprise to them! The video may have come across a little more dramatic than it was. Its about $4-5k for a frame. You can email us at ian@millergarageairstreams.com
Sigh... You over in Dallas.
I need help with my airstream. I can't do it all on my own.😢
😢Same...

We need Help! We have most of a 1973 23ft Argosy but there is almost no frame at all... How do we connect?

I love the online class idea! Beginning a restoration on a '59 KIT Jetstream, this summer.
Very cool!
It would have been nice to have some close-ups of the damage you described
well, yah you know how it is with filming and working at the same time. We'll do better next time!
That looks good!
What’s the wall thickness on the new frame?
any idea who I could contact for a frame or other work i need done on my airstream near Portland Oregon ?
I don't sorry
Excited to be in line! Loved watching the overview of the frame restoration!
Awesome, thank you!
Great work! 100 times better than original design. Thumbs way up!
An idea I like, assuming money is no object, is to duplicate the frame in aluminum.
Sweet frame....Thanks for posting. Love your channel
Glad you enjoy it!
Wow! You never cease to amaze me Ian, you can do anything! I hope my frame isn't as bad as that one...😳
Hopefully not! Maybe we will find out someday!
@@MillerGarage no doubt!

Yes, those windows are notorious for leaking. They can be a pain to rebuild as well.
Like your work.
Much appreciated

I couldn’t make out what kind of floor that is, can you comment on it?
I love Airstreams
