My plants help me the most in winter when its so dark and I don't go out much. They get me moving and bring a lot of comfort. The blooms and colors in your greenhouse makes me so happy! Especially after all the previous issues you had. Your plants look amazing!
Thanks for talking a bit about mental health. Nature has always been a source of comfort and excitement for me. I have bipolar disorder and, now that I work completely remotely, I can play with my plants when I need a break. It's tremendously soothing for me.
I find it increasingly so for me, too. My work doesn't bring me in to contact with anyone face to face - and has been that way for the last 14 years - which brings its own unique problems regarding socialising. Buy like you, my plants (and my dog) bring me lots of comfort.
Thanks for helping remove the stigma of mental health problems. I myself deal with it. My plants and animals bring me a lot of joy in rough times when it's really needed. I love your channel. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Geoff, for this great video! Plants always cheer me up (orchids are my thing), even if a couple are struggling, it is just so refreshing to look after them. Congratulations on your beautiful plants!
Hi Geoff, absolutely pets and plants are so needed during the dreary winter months…and if they are flowering it’s a huge bonus! My birthday is mid January, this year along with potted spring bulbs I got 2 cyclamen, one a pretty cerise mini and the other a huge pink one. No fragrance ☹️ Due to your previous wonderful videos on cyclamen I feel very encouraged for their projected lifespan! After enjoying them on the table for a week I moved them closer to the cooler east window, where they are still blooming and shooting up more buds 😄 I (along with my Bichon - Oscar ) get a lot of pleasure seeing the flowers. It was so fun to browse around your greenhouse, I just love that fuzzy begonia. Be well! 🪴🐶🌿
Glad to hear you've joined the Cyclamen fan club! Although don't expect it'll be easy to take the mini into dormancy - I've failed every time with those - the tubers just aren't mature enough. In fact - you'd think they don't have one they're so small! But very pleased to hear you and your doggy are enjoying them!
Seeing beautiful blooms like yours is enough to cheer anyone up if they are feeling a bit low. My main problem at present is that I can’t seem to get my orchids to bloom indoors. I’m hoping that the grow lights I’ve recently bought might eventually help but I need to be patient and wait for phalaenopsis blooming season and some others to mature. I’ve resorted to buying some aglaonema with gorgeous pink/red markings on the stems and leaves. They really cheer me up.
Yeah I love that plant you've bought - some terrific varieties. Have you ever though about Begonias too? Some wonderful hybrids with fantastic leaves and blooms are just the icing on the cake. I wish I could post photos here as my Begonia 'Black Fang' is looking amazing right now.
@@Grow_Up_Man55 I still have my eye on B. Iron Cross and would like a Maranta with the red stripes but can’t find them both for sale at the same outlet and I don’t intend paying two lots of postage, it makes the plants too expensive.
I have terrible mental health and have done for years before it became "popular" my plants are massively calming for me, I have been into them since I was 6 years old. Nurturing them, caring for them really forces me to exist in the moment.. I am also an atheist so I do believe now is all we have.
I’ve researched it to my satisfaction and it doesn’t concern me one little bit. But people have to do their own due diligence and come to their own conclusions.

Thank you! I agree - growing tropical plants to help get me through the dark, barren winter months was one of the main reasons I started this hobby.

Thanks Chad - I'm so pleased you enjoy my videos.
Plants and pets help with bad times..pets love us and plants nurture our inner self.
Yeah definitely! The older I get, the more I long to spend time outside surrounded by nature.

My pleasure Monica! I'm hoping to get back into orchids this year now I've solved the mites issues.😁
Great video. I love all of your plants. They are beautiful. Thanks for sharing and happy gardening 🌿🌱😊🤗
Thanks so much, Dorinda 😊

I have a neighbor with very lovely cyclamen in the front yard and they remind me of yours. Well done on everything!
Thanks!

I think we might be separated at birth! Good luck with both.

Is there any concern about people
breathing the sulphur?
