I love collage. Gayle is a master. I can’t do digital print outs, my printer is not very good & the ink costs $65. So I salvage papers everywhere I go. Collage is great for using rescued paper & such fun.

This morning I was collaging because my mojo has gone on vacation. Yes it packed a suitcase and went to sunnier climates lol. Then tonight I watch this video that says collage is a good way to practice when you dont know what you want to make. I have made 3 collages and I am enjoying them way too much to go looking for my mojo. Lol xxx

I love making masterboards. You gave lots of great tips for those who are new. Here is a tip on using that foil paper in another way. Even though you don't like it try die cutting with small dies like flowers, leaves or butterflies. Sometimes very small doses of not so pretty paper can be pretty. TFS❤
Agree! I absolutely love using my die cuts on metallics and foil papers, especially the ones you mentioned. Those are always the ones that really dress up my tags and collages!
Fab video! I'm doing this tonight, as my creative mojo is in-between and unsure. I use an old A3 sized book for base pages and tackle my scraps trolley. Love your idea to trim them down 'blind' and see what you get (I'll have a go)! Pre-backing with writable paper is an awesome tip - thank you for that. Doing neutral master boards tonight as I want to stamp them up randomly before trimming. 🥰

My favorite part of making these is to see how each tag turns out. Once I finish the master collage, I stamp randomly with a lot of different stamps. Then I cut it to fit through my Big Shot and then lay out all my tag dies on it, and they fit where they fit. Roll it thru and then get to see how my tags turned out. So much easier than trying to collage and stamp each tag. I love how random they come out.

I want to tell you something though you probably know it but I thought I’d tell you anyway. Regarding Sears catalogs, I was born in 1952, and for several years, my mother and father and sister and I lived in the house that daddy grew up in, we didn’t have running water or indoor plumbing but did have electricity though. And we didn’t have toilet paper. So we used Sears catalog pages as a substitute. I know that sounds so barbaric doesn’t it? But we were poor I mean we were poor. But we survived! And we had lots of fun. Daddy‘s parents had grown corn for the horses and the cows. He would take us for rides in the cornfields that weren’t used anymore and riding over the bumps. It was just so much fun. So now you can share with your Dutchies how barbaric the United States is! L O L
Oops I have a Epson printer, new. Have used it mabe 5 times and then my papers come out all pink. I went online for help, and nothing works. My husband is puzzled also.
There is a maintenance option on there. My copies started coming out purpleish pink too. My printer is at our other house so I can't look at it right now. I worked with it and also watched a video about it as well. I finally got it printing out correctly.
It’s interesting to hear you talk about Gayle Agostinelli. I was watching one of her videos a week or so ago and she was saying something like “MargaretH over on seven Plaza always put her glue on the background instead of on the pieces. I’m gonna try that today“ she managed about half the time to glue on the background. It was kind of cute to watch her try and remember. ;-)

I have a $40 HP printer that works fabulous and I also have the monthly ink subscription through insta ink which is HP only. so it really doesn’t matter what kind of printer you have I don’t think there’s no reason to spend an arm and a leg for a printer when you can get one for $40 that works just as well. I have been printing on it for years.

Lovely, yes? NO! Lol 😂 I enjoy making these master boards. It's mindless and once you start working with them when they are finished, the possibilities are endless! I tint and highlight the bits that are special to me with Tim Holtz inks and the neutrals will work with whatever you are making.

I try to make myself to just put pieces down. Somehow it works to a certain point and then I have to make it match. But I do love using up scraps. Like you said, scan them for future use over and over. Thanks for sharing.

I put all the bookpages together , the digitals, the blank writable papers and what I call specialty paper like braille and tissue paper and such 😁

Definitely, the Epson is the way to go when you need a new printer, in my book. I love my printer. No expensive cartridges.

My masterboards always get warped in the end or pieces come loose. I use Pritt stift but it just never works…
I have the same problem, flatten them under your cutting mat and apply glue where things get loose 🥰
