Someone actually did this to me in Catan. I already have terrible luck in Catan that makes it really not fun for me. Same for Monopoly. They just make me upset. And that man gaslit me into that exact move.

Someone, let's see, used psycological manipulation to pressure me into a deal by confusing and making me doubt myself. Yeah, that's gaslighting. They then used the monopoly card to take back the resources they traded to me. Same move, achieved through gaslighting.
Also, gaslighting is a colloquialism, are you really going critizice the use of a variant of the word because it may or may not have been used before, despite you very obviously understanding what it meant?

That sheep trade into monopoly was a masterful singular play that should be put into whatever highlight reel you will eventually make
This Irish lads stream was pretty tame, like I was surprised the table was intact and they weren’t arguing
Brian was tired, Nogla's voice was dead, Kevin is Kevin, and RT had Cupcake on the brain
Honestly, I _love_ the tonal dissonance whenever he censors a [UA-cam] he or someone else said in the stream, it just makes it funnier somehow with the blatantly obvious cut.
I honestly disagree. I get why he does it, protesting youtube's rules while retaining monetization and all... I just find it jarring, but not in a funny way. Maybe it's because I despise censorship in general.
Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest. Of course, if you enjoy that dissonance feel free, not like I could stop you even if I wanted to :)
Made all the funnier with the part at 23:40 when it says "he needs one of each resource" and as we watch it gets stolen he just enlarges the word FUCK
@@HeavyMetalClown056I flip back and forth, personally. I think it's a great way to censor - but I really do miss the days when it wasn't needed, and hate what it represents for UA-cam's community.
RT did his best to make something out of it, though - and he did so well.
@@Miloggy Agreed, it shouldn't _need_ to be necessary - that is, proactively censoring the audio for _when, not if,_ those UA-cams retroactively edit the TOS again - but it's funny that he made a unique way to "comply" with it.

That Monopoly play was the most evil thing I've ever seen in Catan, and I used to play with someone who deliberately took as long as possible when he knew he had a win that turn.

As someone who's an eighth Welsh,I resent it. I will throw hands with him! But it's a little hot at the moment so I'll need to sheer my wool first
So when placing your settlements at the beginning you roll a dice to see who gets highest. from there you place one village and a road anywhere on the map. you go clockwise, with each player adding a village and road until you reach the last person who puts down 2 villages and roads and then in reverse order everyone puts down their second village and road. I can not put into words how upsetting I found watching the start of this, love your videos Dan.
Also Ports aren't blocked by the robber.

I love how every competitive multiplayer game Dan streams, he always makes himself the villian
Well he is Dan the Villain
He's just too good at games and is quite competitive (It's just Mario Party, Dan ffs). That being said, he mostly plays single player games and it translates into minmaxing (stardew, persona, slime rancher). The most recent competitive stream he's done iirc is Splatoon with Rin Penrose and his competitiveness came back

In my cousins' copy of Catan, the sheep cards have a printing error where they're slightly off-center, so you can tell that they're sheep even from the back. However, some of the sheep don't have this error and look like every other resource from the back. Those sheep were dubbed "rogue sheep".

I love when the Lads play together, because it feels real. Kinda hard to explain, but they're not pandering to their chat, they're not being crazy for views. It's just four Irish Lads playing a game and having fun, not caring if anyone is watching.
I mean, Terrorizer is still going to raze Nolga and make RT feel like a prude, but asking him not to do those things is like asking RCE to not draw knobs with roadways or Spiff to not drink tea.
First time I played this i was playing with a bunch of tryhards. I was just messing around because i had no idea what i was doing, and i won only because i had a long ass road. They were so pissed

The best part about the sheep army thing is that in the towns and knights expansion (The best one) a knight costs ore and sheep

Having witnessed many a game of Catan break down just because everyone got bored and left, honestly thought the video was just gonna end with RT and Nogla chatting over an abandoned board.
Nogla sounds like a Skyrim guard in this video. I can definitely hear him saying “I used to be an adventurer like you, and then I took an arrow in the knee.”
I’ve only played Catan once but it stuck with me because, where my settlement was, I too had essentially the entire sheep deck. so this was very nostalgic lol
My family loves this game. Introduced me to it when I was 9 years old.
I got walled in before the game was halfway over. Have politely turned it down ever since.

Dan is that one friend who is too good at boardgames. So everyone targets him but also begs him for help.
