As a native of DC, I would say there is definitely a difference between living in DC or MD and VA if you are a POC. How much of a difference will depend on how far away from the city (DC). I don’t want to do a long post because this isn’t my video. But, let’s say, I wouldn’t want to be living in a place that has so many monuments and memorials to confederates as VA does (even in northern VA). There can also be a difference in attitudes especially as you get further away from the city.
No mention of the MARC, the VRE or the DC Metro? These are central to a lot of people’s commute (the Metro and the MARC more so than the VRE from what I can tell).
Yes. Maryland traffic is terrible and Northern Virginia is even worse. I live in Maryland and have family in Virginia and even on the weekend it can be pretty bad as soon as I hit Northern Virginia).
I’m a bit stuck on if I’d like to relocate to Richmond, Alexandra, etc. Still doing research between the 2. I have a car but I’d still like to be close to public transportation. I want walkable neighborhoods, safe for black women, arts, culture, history, mountains, lakes, rivers. I’m a nature, artsy nerd 😊
@@RickHartunian Thank you so much. I do have just a few questions. My lease is up Feb 2024. So I am starting to go ahead and do my due diligence pretty early. But I do see your email in the description and will reach out to you shortly.
How you leave Prince George's county out? National harbor, Six flags, President base (AAFB) MGM, redskins stadium, UMD, subway stations, outside of DC. Or mock, downtown silver spring, downtown Bethesda, Chevy Chase. Bro you have to do one again for those two counties and I'll sub. This borderline disrespectful lol. Baltimore city is cool though.
Montgomery Co, “Don’t run me over with your BMW”. Arlington County, “Don’t run me over with your Tesla.” Fairfax County - No sidewalks. Loudon County - “Drive to school, yell at school board.”
Richmond is fantastic and gaining popularity very quickly. I know a bunch of great agents down there. Text me and I can introduce you to a few 👍 443-837-5059
Focusing on dc metro isn’t the key . The best place to live in the dmv is either top of the eastern shore( virgina) or the Laurel or Arundel Mills area
Great video! I sell new construction in Florida’ with a builder and will be moving up to the DMV. Do both places sell pretty well in terms of new construction or is one better for this? Thank you!
The traffic is HORRENDOUS in VA compared to MD. Virginia's Govenor vs Maryland is also a big selling point for me, not sure what Wes Moore is up to most of the time, but I definitely feel the consequences of having Glenn Younkin as our Governor 🙄. The nature is better in VA, and things are a bit more spread out from each other (specifically in the part of Virginia that I live in) than a lot of parts of Montgomery county. Ultimately, I love both states immensely, it's hard to say which one I like more. I will say, it's awesome to have such incredible areas to choose from and they're right next to each other (Moco and Nova) I say it's a virtual tie, you really can't go wrong with either. Just depends on your specific preferences that will probably make the difference.
VA FTW. I’m an MD boy but wouldn’t leave VA now even if you gave me a free home FFX and Loudoun County schools are a wokeness train wreck. Live in VA if you live there or MD if you live there. AL bridge is very bad but all of the major highways in N VA are very passable at all hours with the new HOV’s and folks working from home since Covid

I have yet to see any of these videos talk about MD vs VA for minorities. There’s quite a big difference and it’s worth discussion.
Most people who aren’t minorities will almost never truly understand how clear the difference really is.
Me, as a black woman watching this...
Same, I clicked on this video wanting to know. What would you (or anyone reading this) say?

Traffic is the biggest difference that comes to mind when I think about Maryland and Virginia, I feel like Virginia’s traffic is way worse
I’d say it depends on specific location in Virginia or Maryland but 495 and 66 in VA can definitely get pretty jammed up!

Great Job!!! Thank you for your time this definitely took time and effort! 💗
Thank you! Hopefully it was helpful :)
It definitely was💗

Love it! Happy to go over the differences with you if you’d like. Feel free to reach out.

@@ShondaD_Don’t do the city of Richmond, surrounding counties are much better than the city of Richmond

Do you have any videos on Fredericksburg VA?
I'm trying to move from Houston to Maryland or Virginia
why? usually i see people going down south from the northeast
@jayflock7446 The price of living is rising and someone who has lived in the Houston area most of their life. It's time for a change as well

For Maryland, no PG county??? Kinda messed up bruh
Let me know if there are any specific cities you’d be interested in for future videos 👍
Yeah, how is he supposedly focusing on the counties near DC but forgets one of the counties that literally shares a border with DC?
Lol we all know why he left out PG 😂
Yeah, because he'd have to talk about it, and of course get criticism.
@@RickHartunian,
How about Howard county and Prince William county?
Maryland infrastructure and highways suck Baltimore PG County……highways are way too old
DC was designed by LaFayette as a bastion city - a maze and challenge to enter by intent
You can't do a tax comparison without also discussing quality of programs and services....
