Today is the day that I quiz 10 Minecraft UA-camrs if they can craft a cookie in Minecraft! I asked CaptainSparklez, Smallishbeans, LDShadowlady, Geminitay, Shubble, Goodtimeswithscar, Impulse, Cubfan and Graser! Do you think you would of done better than them? :D - Ігри
Straw was historically used in mud bricks, which is probably why they used wheat in the recipe (hay bales). It was for binding purposes, to help it stay together.
Was just about to comment. If I recall correctly in Minecraft live when they announced mud they even shared the fact that people used to and still do use mud and straw for building
I was just about to say this; you beat me to it.
It's actually a great recipe, but they should've called it adobe. Adobe is made out of clay, dirt (or sand), and straw or hay. In Minecraft, wet dirt becomes mud, and dried mud becomes clay. To make adobe you should add water to clay which is a perfect to use mud for it. and hay explains the wheat. But they named it packed mud which makes it confusing.
@satana8157 i think the reason they used packed mud is because Adobe is specifically a spanish word for it and is used in places with spanish influences. Kind of like how they did switch the mesa biome name into the badlands biome.
Either that or to simplify it since Adobe is specifically in brick form, take Cob being almost the same but not dried out as bricks first.
So, utilizing more universal language. For everyone playing the game
@@Brenilla I'm not a native English speaker and the word we have for it is translated to adobe, and what we use is not in brick form it's just a uniform wall. And since packed mud can be crafted into bricks it made sense to me that the non-brick form is Adobe. If Adobe is always in brick form, you're probably right about that. I think the translation for me were just wrong. So do you think Cob could be also an option here instead of packed mud?
Lizzie wanting a divorce over the cake is fantastic vibes. Same with Joel yelling wrong.
I love that this series is now just an excuse for Hbomb to vent about crafting recipes, almost more than testing people.
Beetroot was just the beginning!
@HBomb94 do rabbit stew next
Beetroot soup is the best soup. 😉
Shubble cursing over cookies, and Joel and Lizzie getting into a screaming match over cake is so funny.
I knew the cake is a complicated recipe, but structurally it _does_ make sense. The wheat base for the flour part, with an egg and sugar mixed in. Then the frosting is majority dairy, so the milk is on top.
Also, Joel definitely has crafted a cookie before in his life. He and Lizzie raced to make all the minecraft foods a long time ago, and cookie was there.
not to mention that it actually looks a bit like the cake design!!
Of all the recipes the cake makes the most sense. Foundation of bread, mix in sugar and egg, and finish with cream on top.
Cookies without sugar makes no sense at all.
I also wonder if the existence of the Tres Leches cake is a factor
If you’re making your frosting with more dairy than sugar, your cakes gonna have problems!
@@Exayevie ...fair :D
Mud bricks are based on the real recipe. Mud with a binder of straw or rice. But yeah, seems weird.
Yeah its called adobe bricks
Trust Cub to remember the recipe for that Convex staple of cake! Trust Scar the tree elf to forget how to make an actual cookie. :D
Scar uses magic to make his cookies :D
Convex for Life!!!
@@pixelraid5742 Convex for life!
Though Scar was letting Team Convex down on the cake...
@@emberdragon3436 let's be honest, Scar always ate more cake than he made
G10 and H together is like nostalgia hitting me like a brick.
RIGHT?
I was NOT prepared /pos
I know I hope they do this again
FR!!!
THATS WHAT IW AS SAYING
Jordan and Oli came up with a much better cake recipe than the actual one. Theirs might actually produce a passible cake rather than questionable pancake batter consistency of the original.
Do you have a link or clip? I want to see this.
@@aranelnemonia6376 it's in the video...
Ahk. I like to scroll comments before I finish a video and then I got side tracked so I never got around to finishing it. Sorry!
I feel like the actual recipe sort of works if you assume that the milk is a stand-in for butter
the packed mud is a bit like the recipe for mossy cobblestone, so it isn't too outlandish
Yeah but it still feels wrong bc you have to mix the straw in theoretically while you can just put the vine/moss on top of the cobble, so it feels like it should be the 2x2 pattern
Seeing Graser and H together brought me so much nostalgia
realll did not expect it
Cub was the closest to getting them all right, and he was the only person who got cake right! Of course he did, Cub has crafted so much cake over the years especially from when he was in the Convex!
Scar got cake right
I think the reason that packed mud uses wheat is that in real life mud bricks are made from mud and grass or straws
I love how after all this time H and Graser feel like they dethawed and picked up right where they left off. Man, nostalgic.
Oh My God man the nostalgia. Honestly I thought they would never make another video together
History nerd here to tell you why the wheat in the packed mud. Back in the old, old, old days, there used to be a building technique called "wattle and daub". The "wattle" part would be branches or something similar woven together to create a wall panel, then the "daub" would be a substance which included mud or clay, reinforced with something like straw, hay, dried grass, etc. which would get mixed together and slapped onto the "wattle" and allowed to dry, making a structure. Then the walls of the house tended to be whitewashed, probably because mud doesn't look good, wet or dry.
I think Mojang was trying to replicate the mud and straw mixture, using items that are already used in crafting. I mean, they could have used grass, but it would make crafting the packed mud too annoyingly hard, because you'd need to do extra steps in order to be able to pick up grass. (That is, if grass is able to be obtained with shears. I don't remember.)
history nerd here to second this LOL,, exactly what went through my brain when he asked
Or, more in keeping with it being blocks, adobe bricks.
18:19 honestly made my day. H & G10 collabing just like back in the day! And they even did the voices too! 😭
13:31 Lizzie has NOT made an entire server eat only cake for a week to watch her husband fail the craft so miserably! XD
13:34 "Oh my god! I want a divorce!" XDDDD The cake queen is MAD
I absolutely loved that part!
18:20 oh my god the nostalgia I’m actually losing it
i love seeing graser and hbomb together, that intro was so nostalgic
Awww Graser’s in this video 🥺, I missed your old collabs together makes me so happy to see a collab between you two again!
After seeing Ollie/Jordan and Joel/Lizzie do these together, we need future crafting videos to be in pairs.
Lizzie weighing in on Joel's turn and being so disappointed is hilarious!
I was so not expecting Jardooon's skin. These are always a classic, H's disbelief every time anyone actually knows the recipe is so funny
jordan and oli teaming up to become the most loserfail duo is not what i expected but i sure am enjoying it
NO LIZZIE COMING IN AND GETTING SO MAD WAS SO FUNNY
Hearing Lizzie from Joel’s skin felt so weird haha
Graser in this and Kiingtong in Joel's video. I feel like some sort of reunion is in the works!
Well it is the 10 year Cube anniversary around now
Wait what vid was will in
@@lukenelmes nvm the vid is 3 years old. I thought it was new but it was just in my recommended
GRASER!!! Oh my god I didn’t recognize him with the changed skin!
20:39 ITS JUST LIKE THE OLD TIMES
The wheat does make sense. In ancuent times people added organic material like grass and wheat to clay for pottery. It prevents the pottery from cracking while in the oven
Omg! HBomb94 and Graser reunited?!
seeing your confusion at graser knowing the cake recipe is hilarious seeing as him and stacy in mineclash are the reason why I have it memorized lol
Packed mud has wheat because you have to add a fiberous material to mud in real life if you want to build with it. You add straw to mud to make daub, a variation of packed mud.
Cub's little "Hooray" got you an instant like lol
What's funny to me is that Graser's process for thinking out the cake recipe is the actual reason I know how to make cake in minecraft. Graser taught me how to make cake 7 years ago!
I was like, who is that. G10 is human now!?!? lol.
Orion and CaptainSparkles being like this hurts my brain on the cake
The cake one I take personally with how dumb it is. The top row should be all sugar to represent the icing, which is y'know... just sugar, and then the milk should be on the second row because it's used with the egg and wheat to make the actual cakey part of cake.
I could see that too, but some frostings do have milk in them, like cream cheese frosting and whipped cream frosting. Also, frostings are not "just sugar" (except fondant, which basically is). Buttercream has butter (and a very small amount of milk), for example. Some frostings have egg whites.
I think here in Sweden (where Minecraft is developed) we don't really use frosting. We do cover our cakes in whipped cream, though.
Seeing how many reversed the cake ingredients makes me think they should turn that into a valid recipe that makes... an upside down cake.
joel and h have such good vibes when they record together :D
Cub is out here with the vex knowledge.
Bro getting hit with Graser at the end had me take a double take
Scars face continues to be the best face in minecraft
i was not expecting to see graser in this omg, i was literally transported back to 2019 when i heard his voice
To sheed some light on the mud bricks recipe, if you live in europe and ever went to like, a really old village or a village museum you might have seen these really shit really simple 1 room houses with like, straw roof. Those are made of what is the real life equivalent of mud-bricks, which is mud, clay (and sometimes cow poop) mixed with straws which were needed for it to maintain it's shape.
I do love this recipe cause it does offer an opportunity to learn something pretty interesting!
Wait until he learns about the recipe for prismarine bricks
oli and sparklez should never team up on anything ever omg I’m DYING
Seeing G and H together makes me want a cube reunion :(
GRASER AND HBOMB CONTENT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS I WILL FEED OFF THIS MOMENT FOR AGES
GRASER?!!!
almost a salt squad reunion this is a momentous day people
ive always been confused of how people mix up the wheat and milk in the cake recipe 😭😭 like the wheat is the cake part at the bottom and the milk is the frosting at the top it matches the item 🥲 but tbf i would never have guessed wheat for the mud one so 😀
Graser!
Graser! What a throwback! I was a semi-prominent fanfic writer in CubeSMP community back in the day xD
the h and graser reunion just made my entire week
same
cake recipe also makes sense if you've ever made a cake. Flour is made of wheat, so that's the bottom row. You also use milk, eggs and sugar so uh....it's all the ingredients of a cake.... I have questions for the people that put wheat on top. "Are you all Australian? Do you eat cakes upside down?"
I was so surprised to see Graser10 in this video. This brought me memories of The Cube
GRASER FINALLY LETS GOOOOO LOVE SEEING YALL TOGETHER
GRASER!! Its been so long since we've had this encounter!! ❤ Also I love H and Scar together! Great friendship!!
I've grown to really absolutely just fan over Scar and I think he's a top tier minecrafter that everyone should love and appreciate
Not it raining when scar has to make the cake😂😂 the server was reflecting his mood
I didn't watch any of your little group back when you made videos together, but when I got into Shubble a few years ago (thanks Kollok!), I went back and watched a ton of it. So, it didn't fill me with the same level of nostalgia as some others, but seeing Graser show up in this video made me absolutely giddy.
Pretty sure mossy cobble has a similar recipe to mud with vines + cobble.
Maybe ask Jaron this, he should probably know after getting one million of them
YES
seeing graser back on H videos made me spat out my pizza
I watched H way back in the cube days. It's crazy to see him interacting with all these people that I watch now
11:50 i remember when grian said that in double life lol
When you make a mud wall, you would use thatching similar to how we use rebar and steel beams for concrete.
First you'd make the thatch wall out of straw typically, then pack in the mud to add the durability.
Stampylonghead OGs were cringing in their seats when watching people fail at crafting the cake
I know a lot of European cakes use whipped cream on top instead of frosting, so having milk on top makes sense.
The packed mud makes sense because they use plant fibers to strengthen mud as a building material. I think it’s called wattle and daub.
I like how Graser is "it makes sense, because..." on everything and HBomb's mind is blown away
Lizzie in the background got me laughing lol.
I’ve missed Graser’s out of pocket laughing and commentary SO MUCH.
H missed the opportunity at the end to say “It’s your time!” before he unalived him 😂
I believe that the packed mud recipe is based on an old method of making bricks where you mix clay and mud together and dry it.
hbomb mud used for construction used to actually have straw or hay mixed into it the packed mud recipe just mimicks that from real life (idk why its only 1 wheat though)
The cake one surpized me for people messing up the most common ways, cake is the cream ontop of the base, Wheat is the actual cake then egg and sugar
Wheat makes so much sense for packed mud even if you don't know that it's close to how you do it irl, I'm kind of upset that h is upset at that one
As someone who has built out of packed mud/packed mud bricks before, yeah the recipes are forever in my mind, the annoying process of water bottling dirt into mud and then farming wheat to combine with that mud in early game, when you don't have farms for it. Never really questioned the recipe though, always made sense to me.
Adobe was one of the earliest building materials, and it'd be comprised of a mixture of mud and dried grass-- which would be why the packed mud recipe is mud and wheat-- it's packed mud in order to make structurally sound walls :D
The Cake for me just reminds me of Tres Leches Cakes (Three Milks Cakes) it is milky, but that’s the point and if made well very good 😊
Lizzie and Joel fighting is soo funny 🤣❤
Love these videos 🤩📸
5:20 Personally I think that cake recipe makes a lot more sense.
I knew Cub would be good at this. He's always doing weird stuff that involves obscure crafting.
cub once again proving he's good at everything he does
I 100% think a large reason Graser did so well was his Survival Challenges/Mineclash
The mud and straw(wheat) of old timey mud bricks is like today's concrete and rebar. Reinforcement, and something to better bind itself to. The cake recipe has always been odd, but memorably so, though certain types of icing are made with a large amount of heavy cream, and confectioners' sugar... You can argue bucket = cup, I guess, and it's why you can't place milk like water in vanilla. A bit surprising that only one person got the cookie right, though; it's a two ingredient recipe, even if the item quantity is three. tbf, everyone who added sugar is honestly on the right track for a better one, even if the value of the cookie isn't any better as a food. It would have given the pre-potion making version of minecraft a second use for sugar, too.
what an elite group of people
Wheat is used in MC in place of straw which is used in brick making as a binding agent to give it more structure. It's where we get the idea of using rebar in concrete. But I agree that it should be a 4x4 recipe.
minecrafter: wheat in cookies? ludicrous!!!!!!!
Baker: ok time to shift some wheat flower into my cookie dough
"I WANT A DIVORCE" was the most I've laughed because of a creator in a little while! 🤣🤣🤣
i love how lizzie joined to instruct joel on how to make a cake, yet still failed, it's so sad especially since she is a regular cake crafter 😭😭
2:41 The editor completely failed that meme
You had one job
The milk on the top sort of makes sense for the cake. When you make batter you typically mix your wet ingredients separately from your dry, then add the wet to the dry. So maybe the designers are thinking of the eggs and milk being put in on top of the flour (wheat). But I agree it is an annoyingly expensive and complicated recipe for such a niche item.
seeing graser10 and H together is awesome
There’s wheat to bind the mud. Think desert, Egypt, huts…otherwise the mud would flop and flatten.
This is why you watch Primitive Technology. To find out why you mix fiber into clay before drying and firing it.
Oh my god
Graser being here just hit me in the nostalgia holy crap lol
I like his new mc skin :D
oh my gosh I got so excited when I saw Graser, thinking of The Cube SMP again and how far everyone's come :)
for the cake, i remember the milk and wheat placement because the milk is the icing and the wheat is the cake bit. but i can never remember the order of the middle
