You guys are definitely an added value!! I have no idea why all labels wouldn't be 100% behind channels like yours. I discover so many new bands this way. Granted...a lot are generic and bland lol, but there's also a lot that bring something new to the table which I want to explore some more.
It's funny to see how the lyrics are just going by and you have no idea what they sing :D One detail I'd want to add, they are using their local dialect in the lyrics so some of the words differ from the general written Finnish. Also most Finnish singing bands bands tend to use rhyming end syllables so you may be able to spot it by just looking at the words. Korpiklaani for example uses a lot more of rhyming first syllables because it's how the old Finnish poetry has been structured. At least in my ear it's one of the cool things that sets bands like them apart.
Lucky me. I fucking love the style of your videos. I saw Verikalpa for the first time at Nummirock, forgot them for about a year... But then I found them again, from my UA-cam feeds. Lucky that I did, I'm a big folk metal lover, from Finland. We just got news here, that folk metal isn't that big of a thing, here, in Finland. Outsiders like it a lot more, than us. I have always liked this paganistic sound of ours. It's nice to hear, that someone else likes it too :> And no, I do not have a band. I just like to sing along. Only thing that I would critizise, is pronounsiation of Finnish. But yeah, i know, this is a fucking hard language. My english isn't perfect either :>
Nice kick in for the weekend. Reminds me of some other folk metal bands from this country. Hearing this ... you should check out some more Finntroll. Some more folky tunes. Check out my other request... Cruachan. Nice Irish folk metal.
As always love the reviews/reactions since you guys typically find bands that are less mainstream which always gets my metal juices flowing. A reaction to Chabtan-Nourishing the four gods would be cool.
Damn. I'd heard the band name but I'd never heard them before. This is really good, I'll have to check out some other stuff from them. Sounds like a slightly heavier version of Korpiklaani.
Do you like Electronic Light Orchestra? Just curious lol. And, while Naglfar - Harvest doesn't have native Swedish lyrics, it does have the the native lyrics of "misanthropia", they speak it fluently, so you should listen to them!
I will definitely check these guys out at Nummirock! And you should visit Nummirock also next year, much more interesting than Tuska where all people go and write reviews anyway.. ;) Tuska is ok but the surroundings aren't nearly as cool and epic as in Nummirock..
Please react to Despite Exile- Relics or Abiogenesis- Visualize. Definitely same vocalist and one of the guitarists maybe lead. Unreal stuff though. You will not be let down. Thx.

That was actually pretty fucking good. I dont usually like folky drinking songs but this was good.

and to add to this, in Verikalpa's own words that said dialect is used because it sounds more "trollish", which goes well with their "troll metal"

I think Finntroll already doing the same music 🤔
Finntroll is one of the major influences of this band, but I think Finntroll is not doing the same music ;). Some similar vibes here and there
Personally this reminds me more of old Bifröst than Finntroll.
listen zero nine, tango del dolor
So, you guys do a bunch of other bands no one has heard of but you won't do Dog Fashion Disco??? Blasphemy!!!!!!
