- The Fallout Universe has long been home to some of the biggest (and smallest) mysteries in gaming. Over the last few months, we've slowly compiled a great list of virtually every Fallout mystery and theory that could come to mind and assembled it all into an Iceberg format. Today is part three.

Dunwich by far, I love the Lovecraft mythos. Oh, and good to see you back Nate, been a minute since you uploaded!
Mysterious Stranger. No no no the H.P. related monsters. No no the Zetans. No the Vualt tech origins and plots leading up to the big boom. Maybe the railroad. I enjoy it all.
Definitely the Zetans. Hoping they make an appearance on the TV show. Probably just an Easter Egg. Like a corpse or something
The Dunwich Mystery is so complicated and elaborate that it managed to make Nate forget he’d already covered quite a bit of it in Part 2

I watched an interview with some of the creators of the show saying they spent a lot of time, especially falling asleep, watching fallout lore videos. I just imagine some Hollywood writer slowly falling asleep to "Hey! How's it going guys? Nate here...."
Yeah, they must have fallen asleep because the show is pretty lore unfriendly. In addition to not being very good.

The Khajits appearance in a fallout game was the missing piece to the Dunwich entity in Fallout, the buried large statues, the Nirnroot in Fallout and the disappearance of the Dwemer in Elderscrolls.
The Dwemer were sent to their own world which happened to be the world of fallout. They are the ancient culture that created the buried relics heads that resemble the Dwemer states and heads, and devices that seemingly had supernatural powers.
There is also a Lich, Blades warrior, Doom Slayer, and some other Bethesda characters in Fallout Shelter Online.
I wonder why Nate didn't mention any of them...

the ruins that Lorenzo describes also sounds like a Dwemer ruin.

This was me in college.
I think the cafe of broken dreams is for all the characters who had players that didn't finish their run. Whether it's because the player got bored or thought it was too hard or whatever. The character didn't get the water chip and save the vault, so they're not a hero. And that's why there's that line about you maybe recognizing one of them - one of them could be your character. But that's just a theory.

Funny story for me is I created two characters for Fallout 1, the first one which sucked and I stopped playing as that character and started up a new character with what I had learned, but once I beat the game with that other character, I went back to my first character and speedran the game basically to finish it with the knowledge I now had lol
I always thought Sturges was the missing synth from the institute that went missing around the airport. since it's isn't that far from Quincy, where he's from. he's been a child before, from what the terminals around Quincy says, and the synth that went missing was a special "s" type recall code like Shaun. plus he is really quick at learning advance hardware at a young age, just like Shaun. My personal theory was that Sturges was free to roam the institute but escaped and that's why you find Shaun in a glass cage when you first see him.

Synths don't age. You can overhear 2 institute scientists (Enrico Thompson and Janet Thompson) have a discussion about it. She feels bad for child Shaun because he will never age.
If S9-43 was a child, he would still be a child if he's still alive.

I think the cafe of broken dreams is kinda referencing the song "Hotel California". The lyrics to the song alludes to the hotel being a ghost filled purgatory or memory created place, trapping any wanderers in.
I always felt like Dead Money from New Vegas was hotel California personified into a DLC

1 am Fallout mystery Iceberg? Heck yeah!
There is evidence to suggest that during the Sino-American War, the Moon Race was an Armed Conflict. The War Memorial depicts a Astronaut with a Laser Pistol on the Moon, and the Plaque also describes a “Battle on the Sea of Tranquility” that phrase is often used to describe the Lunar Surface. There’s much more evidence for this, as there’s also a Magazine depicting a Soldier wearing a cool type of Space-Worthy Mech Suit with a caption *“US ARMY GOES TO SPACE”* with a Rocket Ship in the Background. And recently and most interestingly, Fallout 76 got a new *“Enclave Space Power Armor”* easy microtransaction bait or an implication that there’s an Enclave Base on the Moon? Ironically, this would fit with the original Van Buren Lore for the Enclave, with them having a Space Station Orbiting Earth and a long-term plan to Colonize new Worlds unspoiled by War and Radiation.
*This is how the Enclave can return.*
Yeah except the enclave is in the fallout TV show which takes place at the end of the timeline so uh yeah 🦀
@@ilikestamps2978 I’m thinking the enclave scenes were flashbacks to pre war. Everything looks too clean and new. I’m guessing the doc and dog both got cryo- podded
Small correction: The Sea of Tranquility (Mare Tranquillitatis) is 1 of 20 major basaltic planes on the Lunar surface, not a name for the surface entirely. It is made up of cooled magma from ancient volcanoes, which are remnants of stronger tides, from when the Moon was closer to the Earth. The cooled Magma makes for a flat surface, hence why it and other basins were chosen for the Apollo missions irl. But, more related to Fallout, these plains would likely be strategically advantageous battlefield zones, with even ground denying any real advantage for the opposing side. It's also a fun little alt-history bit, because irl, Mare Tranquillitatis is where Apollo 11 landed.
@hunterpowell2637 I mean maybe, but I'm still leaning towards the enclave just being around. Actually at this point I think vault tec has been apart of the enclave the whole time, considering whatshisface's monologue about outlasting the wastelanders with vaults, and Lucy's father wanting to kill everyone on the wasteland as well. I think what the showrunners are hinting at is that vault tec was in cahoots with the enclave (basically the rich and powerful) so they can run their experiments, they drop the bombs to kill everyone, and then they clean up the mess afterwards and make a new America essentially.
@@ilikestamps2978 considering the enclave had the access code to get into the vaults in the earlier games. I just always assumed they were connected. Like the top level CEOs were probably also high-level enclave members. Or they could be so intertwined that VT is just the public face of the enclave.

Magic: the Gathering player here. Thanks for including (imo) the best tcg ever in the video. Small correction in the explanation of that card. Blasphemous Act deals 13 damage to every creature on the battlefield (including your own). The card cost 1 mana less to cast for each creature on the battlefield. Ex: If there are 8 creatures on the battlefield, this card costs a single Red mana to cast, being discounted by 1 for each of those 8 creatures.

I found the Cafe of Broken Dreams in my playthrough of Fallout 2, it was really cool!
(As a MTG semi enjoyer person) I will say that the card that was shown at 18:30 is "all creatures" including friendly creatures, which by golly really fits Fallout.
Also no worries Nate about the time it took, we all have things that cause delays, and we all appreciate these videos whenever they do come out
So happy to see the latest part! I understand it takes a lot of time to set these together but I very much enjoy them.

hands down the best fallout/TES creator. cant tell you how many times i come back to all of your videos just to keep my knowledge on the lore. fallout to me is one of the most interesting worlds in all of gaming tbh and this is the best place for any and all things fallout
SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT SHOW/ i also want to mention something before i go. am i wrong, but we never really knew who dropped the bombs whether it was the us or china first in the game, right? but the show heavily insinuates that vault tech is and somehow are the ones who dropped the bombs?
